So I finally had my sleep study completed - yep, sleep apnea here - and now all my doc needs is another weigh in, by September 6th. I need to lose another 4-5 pounds by then. I know it might sound miniscule, but I am just so scared I won't make it and all of this work will be for nothing. Someone tell me I can do this? That's 17 days to lose 5 more pounds. Julie

The title says it all I assumed I weighed more than I do. Sounds like a good thing unless you are trying to get approved for the lap band. I am about 12 lbs. less than what would make me have a bmi of 40. Right this second I am about 38 bmi. I know my triglycerides are through the roof, I have shown in the past to have prediabetes, I have a fatty liver and I've shown high cholesterol in the past, too. I get officially weighed in on June 6th. Without getting jumped on here - I am just hoping I can gain the necessary weight to be approved by insurance. Anyone else felt the need to do this? I just don't think my version of comorbidities matches with bcbs of california. I think their comorbidities demand you be on death's door. A shame they make it so difficult when you are so terribly close. This is stressful. Geez. It would be great to hear some inspiration or advice or encouragement from you all

I already posted in the insurance forum, but figured I might as well post here, too. I have my first consult? I guess you would call it in the beginning of June and the seminar at the end of June. I was curious as to what is actually considered a co-morbidity at this point. High triglycerides? Fatty liver? Depression? I mean, I know about the most common ones, but I am curious as to what else the insurance company might take into consideration. I have BCBS Anthem, Cali. Anyway, I am excited, thinking that with help from this surgery I can finally have my life back in a number of ways. I can be healthy for myself, my husband, my kids... and so much more.

I'm new (obviously) I've already spoken with my insurance co. and they pay 90% after the deductible is met, yay! Now, just to get started. I have an appointment the beginning of June for the initial consultation? - And I go to the required seminar at the end of June. All I really know so far is the mostly common BMI of 35 + 1 or more co-morbidities or a BMI of 40. And I was told that there is something about losing 10% prior to the surgery but clearly not to start that until after the actual weigh in. Anyone have any advice or experience they could share with me? Thank you! J
