Hello

I am a 39 year old married mother of 4. I am employed full-time at a homeless shelter in my community and serve as the Client Services Director there. I have had weight issues ALL of my life and resolve that I will not continue to be fat at 40! :angry: My husband is very supportive of my choice, although because I don't trust our kids, I will have to make the trip without him. I am scheduled to have VSG on March 14th with Dr. Ismael Cabrera Garcia who I found through MedicalTourism.

Prior to making the decision to go to Mexico, I have done [b]EVERYTHING[/b] under the sun, including WW, NutriSystem, fad diets, etc. In August, I started with a medically supervised WL program, but became discouraged and depressed when my insurance denied me for VSG (or any other WLS). That's when I started to look for alternatives.

I'm pretty nervous about making this trip alone. I've never flown before and have certainly never been out of the country. I haven't told anybody but my husband about my decision. I know that if I told my mother she'd flip out, so I'll just wait until it's over to do that! I really don't want to hear anything negative (and Lord knows my mother is the Queen of Negativity!) from anyone, so I've decided to keep this between my husband and I for the time being. I haven't even told my kids.

I am interested in the experiences of others, especially with Dr. Cabrera and Medical Tourism. I know I will be lonely without my husband so I'm looking for others with the same surgery date, or close to.
