So far this has been a very surreal experience. I can't believe that I am doing this. I have struggled with my weight since I was a kid. Up and down all my life but mainly up. As an adult, I have been 175 pounds to 298. Even when I was 'thinner' I was always the fat friend. The weight that I lug around with me destroys my self esteem. I am pretty accomplished. I have a good job and I am smart but I hate the fact that I can't get my weight under control. I never thought I would consider this. I thought I could do it on my own. I had in the past. Lost 80 pounds, 60 pounds, 20 here and there. But is has always come back unless I am militant about it. It's very hard to do when you are literally starving. This is my last hope. I don't have big medical problems yet ( I know I am blessed) but my dad died of a heart attack last year at 61. I don't want that to be me. I know now that I need help.

My BF had RNY last year and went from a 22-24 to currently an 8. As we talk about this, she said she would kill herself if she ever got that heavy again. It sounds extreme but I know how she feels. The weight is mentally (and physically) crippling. I'm tired of the anxiety attacks every time I have to travel and not being able to go on rides. I want to have more energy and my knees to stop hurting. I want to dance again!!

The other day I took full photos of myself and I cried. I am way bigger than I thought I was. They are haunting me. So, this is my last hope. My the insurance gods smile on me.

I'm going to blog my progress.
