The fancy one is almost $500 at costco. It is REALLY worth that much? And if so, please tell me why. What can it do that a good Oster blender or food processor can't do? And if it is worth it, how had it helped postop. Thanks!!

This is what support group told me tonight led by our NUT. If we as sleevers drink, everything pass our stomach will become necrotic. You mean to tell me that a glass of wine here and there is gng to KILL me? I know a lot of surgeons release their patient to drink in small moderation at like 3-4 months. What gives? What are ur thoughts?

I notice now I can tell when I have "bad cheap" meat, I go to a restaurant and can tell the meat is bad cheap or even freezer burnt now. Had a sirloin that was supposed to be a prime cut and it tasted like bad liver. I was sleeved Aug 31st lost 89 lbs (total preop diet too). I only like certain meat cuts now everything else tastes bad lol. Fish I have not had any issues with other then noticing freezer burnt taste.

I am taking a liquid form of Protein called Promod. I was given this stuff after a surgery a year ago. It made sense for me to hunt it down and use it now (on full liquids). It's literally smaller than a shot and it's fruit flavored. 1 oz= 10grams of protein. It's sold on Amazon. http://abbottnutrition.com/products/promod-liquid-protein Just sharing! For those of us who may be struggling to get protein in.

Ever since I went from full liquids to purees I've gained 4 pounds. WTH? I'm eating only like 600-800 calories (tuna, refried Beans, sardines, hard boiled egg, cottage cheese, broths, Protein shakes) What is wrong? Am I gonna gain back the 16 pounds I lost during liquids? Well I already gained 4... Is this normal? Help, I'm so discouraged. I don't check the scale more than once every week, and finding this today really made me feel so unmotivated

Hello. happy holidays to all the sleevers. Question for you all?. I work 13 hour shifts. I'm lucky if I get to sit down and eat a meal at the table. Any suggestions for breakfast /lunch /dinner? Since I leave my house at 6am and get home around 9pm, I need to be prepared and bring all my food with me otherwise I might end up picking and snacking throughout the day. The family members of the patient are bringing in lots of goodies for the nurses and doctors. I'm worried I will not have the will power to stay away. I'm 6 weeks out.. Weight loss is on the slower side for me. 17 lbs down. Thanks..

I had my sleeve surgery on 12-6. I am using Unjury protein and doing okay. I want to start doing more things with it as I go into stage to, mushie stuff. I know I can do Jell-O now but haven't gotten around to it. But how do you make Jell-O with unflavored Unjury? I have been using it in coco and soup. What are other ways you have used it? Thanks, I truly appreciate the wealth of support on these forums!

I am a vegetarian. Even the best hi-Protein vegetarian foods have only 10-15% Proteins and 70% carbs (Beans, milk, legumes, cheese) and quite substantial fat too. Any suggestions for hi-protein vegetarian foods with low carbs and low fats. Thanks in advance for your kind suggestions.

I was going through mt cabinets the other day and realized I have several cans of Protein powder. They are quite outdated, but sealed. I was looking at the ingredient list and nothing looks like it would spoil and I know expiration dates are necessary but a lot of time, not really all that important. However, the first ingredient is soy protein but there are whey isolates, as well, and a goodly amount of protein per scoop. If I were vegan, I would have to choose the soy and am wondering if I should use these along with the whey that I plan on buying. I do not mind the outdated part. I am wondering if you would use both whey and soy protein. Money is a BIG fact…

Hi everyone, So I have a question? How many grams of carbs should we be doing? I am working out 5 days per week and thought I was being really good with diet. Unfortunatly no weight loss. SUCKS! I am going to try keeping my Protein at around 80-90 grams and making sure I get my Water in, at least 9 glasses per day. I am going to lower my carbs--I think my body just can't deal with alot of them. I have been reading up and found a book that says around 20. I have seen on here people saying they are keeping around 80 grams. I would love to hear some different ideas. Thanks.

I've been seeing a lot of posts lately about people consuming 40-60g of Protein in one "meal". Remember, your body is incapable of absorbing more than 27g at a time, and shorter, less muscular people could be as low as 19g. Think about it. If you are consuming 60g protein and +- 350calories, you'd be much better off cutting your portion in 1/2 or even thirds depending on your body. Really, if you can only utilize 30g of protein, why not cut your calories in half also? Here's an article that might explain it better. http://www.theiflife.com/how-much-protein-per-day-build-muscle/

Anthony's is a fairly good choice for quality seafood selections, but I could not justify the price for a full entree. I was also going to be out a few hours after dinner, so could not save any. In the appetizer section, there is a dish called "Shrimp Mango Peanut lettuce wraps." It makes about 4 wraps of shrimp, small mango cubes, cucumber cubes and Thai peanut sauce. They told me there was about 4 ounces of shrimp in them. I could eat 2 wraps and had them package up the rest over ice for today. Needless to say, this is my first encounter with fruit ( mango) post op and I didn't have any significant issues, a little gurgling and little uncomfortable. Overall, it was very…
