Hi all. I just underwent a band to sleeve conversion. I was sleeved on November 5. I will be going to Hawaii the second week in December. I know it may seem too soon to be eating much of anything, but my MD cleared me to progress to soft foods this week. She suggested I go with poke or sashimi. I love both of those foods, but know it may not be reasonable for every meal. Any suggestions on what I should eat while on vacation?

I found these drinks called isopure and they look pretty good but haven't heard if they are good or not. Please anyone and everyone what have you liked>?

6 months post op and suddenly I don't want to drink my Water. I realized today how little I've drank this past week. It's been much cooler lately and I've forgotten about my water. My doc just told me to up my calories as well. As soon as he said that, I realized I wasn't hungry either. I wonder if there is a correlation between not drinking enough and appetite. I know proper hydration aids weight loss, but I wonder if improper hydration suppresses appetite. Mine certainly feels that way. I was eating till 10 o'clock last night just to get in my calories. I feel like I'm regressing.

I'm currently on full liquids and I've gotten tired of eating my Soups out of a can so today, finally feeling well enough I decided to cook my own Soup. I used things I had on hand and this tuned out DELISH!! Its a little carby but I was lacking in Protein and this was a good protein recipie. 1 chicken breast 4 cups chicken stock 1 chicken bullion 1 can northern white Beans ¼ cup chopped parsley 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp curry powder ¼ cup greek yogurt 1/4 cup of milk I didn't realize it would make as much as it did, I'm still getting used to small servings lol. Next time I think I'll use more chicken breast considering how many servings to get the protein a b…

I am about 2 weeks out, and am still on clear liquids only, I am about to transition to protien drinks tomorrow, I am excited, but the strangest thing has been happening to me! Today my husband and I stopped at our favorite vietnamese noodle shop. I love their Pho (vietnamese style beef noodle soup), so I got a small bowl minus the noodles, (they looked at me like I was crazy), lol. I was so excited as soon as I got it, I plunked in my spoon and sipped the broth...and almost spit it back out! It tasted like someone had dumped cream and sugar in the beef broth!! I was like what is going on?!? My husband saw my face an was immediately concerned, I asked him if his …

I had tasted cracker meth at my child's School's Holiday Mart. It's plain old saltines made with this seasoning called The Original Savory Saltine Cracker Seasoning. I swear I thought one taste won't hurt...I had to walk away from the freaking plate....damn cracker meth! Here's the video...it's is disgusting how they are made...don't ever try them..I think I am gonna have to have rehab for this cracker meth addiction. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=YJhzl40qq4A&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DYJhzl40qq4A

Are these bars good ones for us? The Peanut Butter crisp bar has: 310 calories, 10fat grams, 33carb grams, 2grams Fiber, 3grams sugar, and 30grams Protein. Ingredients include, milk protein isolate, whey protein isolate, hydrolyzed whey protein isolate, soy protein isolate, etc. Anyone know if this is a decent bar?

ok I am about 7 weeks post op and I am on mostly solid foods, I am having a really hard time finding lunch ideas to take to work that are not our staple, soup, tuna salad, egg salad or chicken salad. I use my meals to get my protein in because I cannot stomach the protein drinks at the moment. Please if anyone has any good ideas for lunches to take I would greatly appreciate any ideas you may have. I have been eating a lot of fish which is great for me but not so much for the people who work around me, microwave fish is never a good smell.

Hi guys, I've noticed something that bothers me a little. I've seen a number of posts from people saying their post-op diet plans are unclear; this appears to be more common among people who paid out of pocket to be sleeved in Mexico or other locations outside the US. As I understand it, they don't necessarily get the benefit of pre- and post-op counseling, nutritionist visits, etc. and are pretty much left to research things on their own. Nobody should be left to fend for themselves after a surgery like this. This site does a great job of providing support and information based on others' experiences to help fill the gaps, but I figured it couldn't hurt to have somethi…

I was sleeved in July, I am 4 months out. I can barley get 2 ounces of protein in at a time (things like grilled chicken and meat sometimes is only 1 oz). I can not eat more than that in a sitting (and stay full for quite a while). I was told by my NUT that I should be able to get in 4 ounces of food in at each meal. I cant! Made some beef vegetable soup tonight - could get in 4 ounces of that (1/2 cup). I can eat a 4 or 6 ounce yogurt with no problems. Is this normal? Is it the denseness of the meat that makes it difficult? Will I always have to rely on protein shakes?

Hi all, I began the puree phase yesterday, and am having some trouble figuring this all out. My physician expects us to get between 80 - 100 grams of Protein in daily, and how the heck can I do that at this time? I can only eat a couple of tablespoons of food. So I end up mixing my shakes to get the protein, and they fill me up, so I don't want the puree. I'm just not sure how to successfully make this transition. Any suggestions?

I am 6 weeks post surgery and have lost 40 pre and 40 post. I have 100 to go or maybe less...depending. Just wondering...how many calories do you all eat each day? I am keeping close track of food and exercise on My Fitness Pal. I try to keep calories around 700-800...does that sound right to those of you who are maybe 2-3 months out? I feel as if I'm not hungry and I am getting 80 protein grams per day. Kathy
