4 Weeks Post Op And Hate To Eat

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone. I am 4 weeks post op and find that I hate to eat. I hate the full feeling I get so quickly and the burping after is very embarrassing. I am happy I had the surgery but just down in the dumps this week I guess. Anyone else feeling this way??

You know, I never...ok really rarely get the burps (thank god) but I'm also told by my doc that this is a sign you might have eaten too much. How much are you eating at a sitting? That might be part of the problem.

The restriction we hate early on is the restriction we paid for to lose the weight though :P sometimes it sucks to get what you paid for...but try to think of it as a good thing!

I can have literally 2-3 bites of food and start to burp. I get it when I drink too. I just have to get through my food withdrawal and over my addiction to food. Thanks for the help

Are you taking a PPO? It sounds like you need one.

I burp when I'm too full or when my stomach is empty, either way. Dr. said I'm doing fine just slow down and avoid bread. I'm at 5 weeks postoperative today and I'm also avoiding eating because of the discomfort-still having 1-2 shakes a say. I prefer softer foods like yogurt; tuna and chicken feel too filling for the tiny amount that I can get down. I take my ppi st thing in the morning as I wake up to a rumbling tummy-then the delightful burping starts! (So attractive to my husband, I'm sure!)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
