  12. Shoveled snow! Usually go to y for water aerobics or biking...too icy and snowy the last week to get there. Pt tomorrow...they will work me hard! I am 3 mo out and getting more energetic. Lost 40 before surgery...50 after...50 to go. My fitness pal keeps me on track.
  13. I had lots of gas for a couple of weeks. Hang on. Walk. Often. Helped me. Congrats on your new life!
  14. Hey Glen...glad to see another 60-ish person out there! I am 2 months post op...feeling absolutely incredible after losing 45 pre op and 45 post op. I am only halfway to goal but even at this point....soooo worth it! Keep on posting under 60s and i will keep checking on you.
  15. It is all such a learning experience...best wishes on your new life and re-energized body. I am 67...had surgery 6 weeks ago...so much more energy and more each day. Walk walk walk!
  16. I am 6 weeks post surgery and have lost 40 pre and 40 post. I have 100 to go or maybe less...depending. Just wondering...how many calories do you all eat each day? I am keeping close track of food and exercise on My Fitness Pal. I try to keep calories around 700-800...does that sound right to those of you who are maybe 2-3 months out? I feel as if I'm not hungry and I am getting 80 protein grams per day. Kathy
  17. I did proti diet cream of chicken soup...high protein...good. Get on bariatric websites.
  18. You have me for company... June weight 348 Sept 24 surgery weight 304 Today's weight Oct 22...1 month post op 280 I cheered when 299 arrived..glad you r here friend!
  19. My thoughts and prayers to you. I know you will be fine soon...keep informing us of your progress...
  20. You are just amazing and inspiring! I am 2.5 weeks out and down 60 pounds (40 bsurgery/20 asurgery). You make me see the light at the end of the tunnel...
  21. I quit two years ago as i was tired of hacking and needed to do serious prep for rny. I just had surgery 2weeks ago. I know i will never start smoking again...but i also know that it is always there in the back of my mind. Dont beat yourself up for thinking about it...but if you just weigh the consequences (which you know as well as i do as former smokers) i am sure you will decide not to start. You are strong as you have proven by taking on this life challenge of wls. Embrace life!
  22. Can we get new group going? I posted about the motivational aspect of being a grandmother and got responses within an hour or two. See AGE SPECIFIC GROUPS...60's. How can we do that?
  23. I am 2weeks post op and walking 2 miles a day. Sometimes i split it up.
  24. We really need a Healthy Granny group! I certainly want to be with them for as long as possible...but it is the QUALITY of time I am really going to enjoy...hiking with them...biking with them...just getting down on the floor with them. They are 3/5/7/9...
  25. Where are all you baby boomers? I had surgery on 9/24...two weeks ago. Down 40 before surgery...20 after...60 total. I did lots of prep before surgery (exercise...lean green diet 3 months...immense amount of research) . So glad i did...sailed through surgery and in only 2 weeks feeling great! We baby boomers are tough. I still have 100 lbs to go but have a new lease on life...never too old to learn...look out to my grandkids...her comes a new granny...lucky if you can keep up with her! (Spokane, Wa)
