  1. Started by pen,

Just had my 6 week check and was graduated to all food. My doctor said to get protein bars. Ultimately high protein, low carb, low fat and low sugar would be great. I find they either have too much fat or too much sugar. Which do you use?

Has anyone tried any of these or the "just cheese" snacks? I've been craving chips lately and I've seen the protein chips and all on amazon and bariatric choice. Just looking for suggestions as to what's good and what's not....on Amazon you buy a pretty big box of them when you order.

I'm wondering if I might be able to get away with some sort of soft fish and maybe be able snick in a shrimp or two. Just looking for and ideas what I might be able to do. I'm really trying to tell myself that this is appealing (cottage cheese with no sugar added peaches with a mix of chia seeds)..... But it's definitely mind over matter and I can't finish it! I have sensitive taste buds and for some reason I have an earthy after taste in my mouth! I think I'm in trouble for lunch, as my egg salad is infested with chia. Good thing I can survive without a lot of food! LOL

OMG, whoever posted about Chia seeds last week, I have to thank you from the bottom of my heart. These little seeds are amazing! After I heard about them, i quickly researched them and then headed out to GNC and bought a bag. They are mixed into whatever you wish. I love to mix mine into yogurt. They swell up and make a thick gel like substance, you eat it and voila your full. Because it has protein, it keeps you full. You can mix them in your favorite juice as well and once it gels, eat it. Because the seeds have no flavor, they take on the flavor of the juice. Right now I'm totally loving lime flavored yogurt and don't think i'll be able to finish it. You stay…

  13. Started by LaceSleeve,

I had my surgery Dec 4 and I started my full liquid diet 2 days ago. I have been doing everything they have said… eat slow, 500-700 cals, 65 or more grams of protein and 64 oz of fluid. The problem I am having is from the broth and other things I have been taking in, I have never felt "full" yet. Is this normal? Is/did anyone experience this too? Did it change when you switched to solids/mushy food?? Maybe I am over thinking it. Thanks for the help.

I am wondering if these are ok to drink post sleeve. They have sparkling water in them and come in a lot of different flavours. 18. Help me, please. I was up all night sick (post-op Day 4). I've still been quesy today. I also cannot seem to get in all the fluid I need. I've always drank A LOT of water, but now I'm scared of drinking too much, too fast. I feel like I went a step backward last night. Being sick was HORRIBLE and I don't want to be that way again!!

Calories 160; Fat 4g (sat 1.5g); Protein 15g; Carbohydrate 19g; Fiber 5g Subways Egg White and cheese muffin melt...DELISH and the perfect portion size for my sleeve. Keeps me full till lunch, and at just over 2 bucks I couldn't make it myself at home for the price. Below is the nutrition info. I only eat the bottom of the muffin and add spinach and tomato. I ask for light cheese. Per subway I am subtracting 40 calories and adding 1 to 2 grams of protein with the spinach. Not sure how many carbs I am getting rid of the top bread but one would guess my total is 12ish? 120 cal 16-17g protein Yes please

Was cleared to eat anything-but to avoid bread, at only 5 weeks post-op. I can only tolerate such a small amount of pureed food, when I eat chicken I feel like an elephant is sitting on my chest. Now I'm becoming afraid to eat! I'm still drinking 2 shakes a day (have to!) for 60 grams protein, but meals are not enjoyable! I can only tell when I'm full, when I'm too full. I don't get sick, but feel like I could. Even One egg is too much! I have to stop when I've eaten about 75% or risk the elephant feeling! I'm happy to be fading away, but I worry that it will be too fast and I'll also age faster, too!  I do get all my vitamins in, plus the protein and about 32 oz. water …

I found a site that breaks down the cals, carbs, and Proteins of sushi sashime and assorted sushi-related foods - The Sushi FAQ - Sushi Calories and Nutritional Information I love sushi and it seems like the perfect Protein delivery system post-VSG: small, soft, and flavorful. I'll probably have to switch to sashime rather than sushi 'cuz I've heard the rice is not our friend post-op. If you feel daring, octopus sashime came in at 8 grams of protein for a 1oz. serving! Miso Soup was pretty low at only 3 grams but I think if I doctor it up with some unflavored Protein powder it might be good for full liquid stage. =)

Chia seeds. So you hear about them here a lot especially if you have constipation. So I have hemmed hawed on get them. They aren't attractive and really I wasn't sure I wanted black specks floating in my shake. But...after trying them...I have to say I am enjoying them..to me it's the texture they give to the shake..I like it! And the add benefit of helping with constipation is an added bonus plus omega 3s never hurt. So for those of you who have chatted with me about the chia seeds, I humbly bow to your superior knowledge of the product and say.."thank you for putting up with the doubting Thomas while she made up her mind"! I am Piplula and I like Chia seeds.

I started trying to stock my cabinets with some possible foods for the different stages. How many carbs, sugars or fats you need to look out for? Does the nutrional label have to say 0 gm of sugar or can it have some? Like I wanted to buy some tomato soup for liquid stage but I noticed it had corn syrup in it I think and then some grams of sugar. So i put it back.
