  2. I cancelled my Dec 27 surgery - freak snowstorm (Arkansas). Can't get to hospital at 5:30 a.m. and am concerned about hospital staff deficiencies. Guess I'll have to choose another date. Good luck to all Dec 27 folks!
  3. PearlLex - you'll just learn a new way of eating. You'll be able to eat meat and potatoes - it will just be different. Good luck in your journey!

  5. 27th for me too. I'm from Arkansas.
  6. Unjury make unflavored and chicken soup protein powder. I've tried both and like them.

  13. Wishing you nothing but good luck.
  14. Thanks Butterthebean - I was fumbling
  15. You are not a pain. I'm trying to come up with a good answer. I think you could try to eat the 3 oz of meat and see if you are full or not. I know you don't want to overdo it. How long post op are you?
  16. I bot a digital candy thermometer (less than $10) and put a cup of water in my microwave at various times until I got exactly 140 degrees - 1 minute 15 seconds on high in mine. It prolly needs a little pepper or Mrs Dash to give it a little more zing. I also mixed in a large bowl using a hand whisk. Poured in cup to drink it.
  17. Weight - I only use scales unless I'm measuring liquid. I finally learned to use them correctly by putting a plate on the scale, let it reset to zero and then add the food! I feel smarter every day.
  18. Wonderful job!
  19. Can't accurately measure dry stuff in a measuring cup. Gotta have the food scale for that. I learned that in cooking school last year! TW I'm 58 and didn't know it!!
  20. No all day appointments here. All of my testing is at various times and dates. Have done psychiatric eval, NUT, sleep study tomorrow, pulmonary testing Tuesday, and labs whenever I go (as long as it's before surgery), 2nd surgeon appt Dec 20. I suppose I'll meet the anesthesiologist right before but that's OK cause this is a small town and the surgeon has done several procedures on me in the last several years. He'll have access to all of my medical records and works closely with my surgeon. I'm in good hands and you will be too.

  26. I'm a fan of Unjury. I figure by the time I can get to foods I'll have used up what i bot: Chicken, unflavored, Chocolate Splendor, Vanilla, and Strawberry.
