Has anyone tried these? They are a healthier version of chips - made from either black Beans or a pinto beans/flax seed combo. I found them online & (after I finished laughing about the name) tried a couple of varieties -black bean Chipolte BBQ & black bean original. I'm pre-surgery & tostitos are a weakness of mine - I thought that these might be a reasonable substitute for an occassional treat. And I was so surprised at how good they are! They may not work for everyone, but they work for me. I use them w/ nachos, dips, snacking, etc. Here's some of the nutitional highlights: Corn Free Low Glycemic Gluten Free High Fiber (Relatively) Good Protei…

  5. I have been asked so many times on this board about what Protein drinks are good and some sample meals that I used during the first month and things I did after the 1st month. These are very valid questions and I know when I first started out I had all the same questions. Again this is long so please print this out if you would like. Please remember these are the things Dr. Aceves wanted me to do. Remember you should do what your doctor wants you to do. These are just my suggestions of what worked well for me. Protein Drinks. My all-time favorite is: Premier Protein Drink. It comes in 11 oz. drink boxes already mixed. There are 30 grams of protein in each box, 1…

  7. I'm just about 3 months out from surgery and my weight loss has been.. Well slower than expected and I go through continual stalls. My weight won't move for over a week even though I'm eating between 800-1k calories per day and at minimum 80g of Protein. I also work out 3-4 times per week. So I'm getting frustrated. I also feel like all I ever eat is meat! By the time I get a few oz of chicken or pork in I'm stuffed, there's no room for veggies or anything else. And because I push to reach my protein (I do drink 2 shakes per day) I feel like that all I eat. So feeling meated out and frustrated with slow weight loss I watched Fat Sick and Nearly Dying the other night an…

Can anyone that has had the surgery one or more years ago tell me how many calories they are now eating? My surgery was nearly 3 years ago and I have gotten competely off track with my diet. I'm sad to say, I stopped counting calories about 2 years ago. To my defense, I got pregnant and had to eat, eat, eat during the pregnancy of my twins. So, counting calories was not an issue. Now, I'm ready to get back on track, but I have no idea how many calories I should be eating again. I know when I first had the surgery my doctor said that I should eat about 600 calories, but that was at the beginning, right? I honestly can't imagine going back to just eating 600 calories…

I have found that seaweed is a very tasty snack and very low calorie. One serving is about 25 calories and usually gives you quite a few very thin wafers. There are also many nutritional benefits from eating seaweed. The only issue is that there is a fairly high sodium content. Would a serving or two of seaweed a day be detrimental to weight loss? I do drink a large amount of water daily to flush things through.

I topped chicken fingers with taco seasoning, chipotle sauce and mango salsa. Cooked a tray of these for about 20 minutes. Two fingers are a good serving size (about 3 oz) for sleevers in solid food phase. Serve with a 1-2 oz side of steamed veggies. I made 12 on a tray so it will be good for lunch and dinner for a few days. Enjoy!

They are pefect size for a burrito and are only 1 1/2 oz. each. They taste just like regular flour tortillas and don't taste like cardboard like most of the other low-carb ones I have found.

Hi! I am new. I am almost 3 months into my 6 month requirement for surgery. I am doing my best to make healthy changes and learn all I can so that I can be successful with this tool. I am frustrated because I keep trying plain greek yogurt and I hate it! My Nut says that they prefer us to get our protein in soft foods like pudding and yogurt rather than the drinks. I have tried to put Toroni syrups in. I tollerated the Strawberry. I tried putting in PB2, choc. PB2, and even the caramel Torani. And I still hated it.
