Hi all, I'm 8 weeks post op. I saw that people say they can't have celery because of the stringiness. Tonight, I had 2 pieces and I was fine. I find that I am getting so sick of eating beef chili, baked chicken, fish, canned tuna/chicken, lunch meat, turkey burgers/meatballs, and cheese/cheese wedges. I never thought I'd miss veggies as much as I do. (I'm almost tempted to drink two Protein shakes a day and snack on veggies in between lol). I was wondering when did you start incorporating veggies into your diet, specifically, low carb ones? When were you cleared for veggies? Unfortunately, my NUT has left the my surgeon's office, and they're working without one until…

I just heard about Forte brand high Protein gelato. It comes 4-oz cups (one serving) and contains 15 grams of protein per serving. 1.5 grams of saturated fat, 20mg of cholesterol, 70mg of sodium. 160 cals per serving for the vanilla. 18g of sugars. The Forte website says it's good for people recovering from surgery. Has anyone tried this gelato? I'm thinking about ordering some (not to eat every day, just now and then), but it's expensive. My nutritionist wants me to up my calories to break my stall. I've never been a sweets person, so having this around isn't going to derail my weight loss goals, but I would like more options when it comes to protein. Thanks!

http://thepepperseed.com/peppers/trinidad-scorpion-moruga-the-worlds-hottest-chilli-pepper/ The Trinidad Scorpian Butch T pepper, now at 2,000,000 Scoville heat units. It is the level of law enforcement grade pepper spray. By comparison, a Red Savina Habenero ranges between 350,000-580,000. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scoville_scale I would avoid this one for a little while after surgery......about 50 years should be sufficient.

  4. Hopefully I got all the important points in my topic title Does anyone have any suggestions on how to lose those last twenty lbs on a semi vegan diet. Actually after surgery, I started working with a wellness coach and figured out I have a whey allergy, so I don't eat any dairy anymore, no eggs, no cheese, etc. Also don't eat beef or pork and only eat chicken very rarely. I do eat a lot of fish though, so I can't be considered fully vegan. Not worried really with labels, just having a hard time losing those last 20 lbs. Especially when a vegetarian diet can be centered around so many carb like foods. I've also had a problem with low Iron levels and us sleevers, I'…

Like, right now. Drinking just one 12-ounce can of an artificially sweetened fizzy drink per week can increase your risk of Type 2 diabetes by 33 percent, French researchers found. And given that most people don't stop at a single weekly serving, your real risk for diabetes could actually be much higher. 20. I found this syrup at Home Goods. I bought the vanilla, but they also had hazelnut, almond, and English toffee. It is ZERO calories, ZERO sugar, and GLUTEN FREE syrup for flavoring in drinks, teas, coffee, and lattes. Less than 1 gr carb in 1 oz. serving size. It is called Jordan's Skinny Gourmet Syrup. On the back it says www.skinnymixes.com if you can't find it. I paid 3.99 for the bottle which is 25.4 oz. The bottle is large like a wine bottle. very good and hardly used any in my coffee this morning.

I am 3 weeks post op and just wanted to share this item that is helping me through the liquid and pureed part of the post op diet. Texas grocery store HEB has a milk brand Mootopia that had 12g of protein, 40% less sugar than regular milk per 8 oz and is lactose and fat free. I was really struggling to get my protein in right after surgery and using this in my protein shakes, soups and hot cereal really helps up the protein content. I also drink on its own when I just can't stomach anything else.

I have very little appetite if any at all and everthing seems to make me nauseous except for string cheese and strawberry protien shakes. I can also only consume about 6oz max at a time. So I am a night owl. It's about 9pm here in Kansas but I just woke up. Anyway, so I was making my 'morning' coffee and measuring out my coffee creamer as usual (I know I'm weird but I get crazy with that stuff if I'm not careful) ANYWAY, I noticed something very interesting. my go to coffee cup has a mark on the inside at the two tablespoon level. Intriguing, so I pulled out some of my other to go cups and they all have a faint line at the 2 tablespoon level. Is that on purpose or some kind of weird fluke? Maybe some kind of one ounce mark is just standard for travel cups?

I remember eating Steak-Ummm's as far back as middle school (when I was on the Atkins diet with my mom). They're thin, tasty, quick to prepare, and have 5 grams of Protein per slice. I put a little salt and a teeny bit of ketchup in it and its deelish!

Phentermine causes mood swings. I'm already prone to mood swings to begin with, so I'm making sure to carefully monitor myself. I started a liquid diet today and had only a protein shake for breakfast and one for lunch. When I left work I drove to the grocery store (30 mins away from work) only to find I left my purse in my desk. Talk about temper tantrum! Holy cow! Thankfully my boyfriend is an absolute genius when It comes to calming me down and making me feel better. Made me realize maybe at least part of it had to do with the fact that I hadn't eaten anything solid in at least 24 hours. Once I ate I really felt so much better and now can actually think straight again.…

I had surgery on January 9th and I am about 3.5 weeks out. I wasn't a huge meat eater before the surgery but I can't seem to keep any meat in me now. I've tried tuna, talapia, chicken and turkey. when I eat any of this I don't get anywhere near the 1 oz before i am so uncomfortable. It feels like it's sitting right in my throat and then it comes back up. I'm not talkin about just once, I've tried a few times. Cottage cheese, string cheese (I can tolerate 2 of these at a time!) yogurt, and some beans are fine. I can even tolerate cashews but meat doesn't seem like it's ever going to work. Anyone else have this problem? Should I even bother or should I just go vegetarian?
