Craving salty so I sat down with a can of Sour Cream and Onion Pringle's. Granted, I only had about 5 when 3 months ago I would have eaten at least half the can, still disappointed in myself! Then chocolate after supper. What's wrong today??? Better day tomorrow! How many of y'all have slipped up and how bad???

I am not a sweets person, I am more of a breads and pastas kind a girl. Just wondering if I could get some ideas on this. I know I won't be able to eat a ton of it just wondering if I can at all. Thanks!

Today is my twin boys Matt and Dan's 23 rd birthday. They wanted to spend the day as a family. One is bringing a Reese Peanut Butter Ice Cream cake. The other wanted ME to make him Red Velvet Cake. Do you know how hard it is to be on day six of your pre-op diet and have cream cheese icing all over your fingers with a fresh chocolate cake in front of you? I was so darn good I can't believe it. I didn't even lick my fingers!! To top this off they just brought home two hot pizzas. It is in-powering to be good though.

I can only eat about 1/4 cup of meat at a time. Then 10 min later I am dry heaving. But I can eat 1/2 cup of eggs, cottage cheese and yogurt. then I am still hungry 2 hours later. My binder says I should try and eat more protein. but I can only eat a small amount of meat for example, chicken, meat balls, meat loaf, salmon. the binder also says to eat very slowly, take 20 then if you are not still hungry eat more. Should I start that? Any suggestions could help. I am also sleeve 4.5 weeks ago.

Well, I think I drank too much soup for dinner tonight. I had strained cream of celery. I had 2 cups of it so that I would not smell the 20 grams of unflavored protein powder I need to still get in for the day. Now I'm feeling very full and having to burp! The liquid goes down so easily for me. For the last 4-5 days, I've been able to drink 8-10 glasses of water on top of my protein drink/broths. I can't wait til I can add some solids or puree food.

I'm assuming that I'd keep all of the protein, but given how much grease is on the paper towel, and the fact that they don't taste fatty, any thoughts on how I figure out calories and fat???

I am trying to keep my carbs under 40 a day but that leaves me with no Fiber. Anyone subtracting fiber from carbs to get net carbs instead? I can't even eat a Quest bar bc it takes up all my carbs... But it's so much fiber. Nut isn't available right now so I'll just take the group consensus on this! Thoughts? Thanks

I ate junk all day. I even didn't want to eat the nice baked fish i made for dinner. and then i had gelato. and then there were two bites left that i didn't want to eat.. but i also didn't want to take it into the kitchen.. and it was the expensive kind so i just ate it instead of letting it melt. I'm pretty sure I'm dying. I am admitting this all to you, vsg forum, because i am miserable and i don't know what made me do those things today. (the magical fatty fairy?) I didn't eat anything that's going to hurt my sleeve - all soft junk. lol. too much info - but my cycle is about to start - that could explain the cravings but seriously - i'm going to lay down and attemp…

I have to eat them slowly and then they seem to go down well for this 3-month post-op patient. What are your experiences with boiled eggs?. Does it make a difference if the eggs are hard boiled or soft boiled? I always eat the yolk for nutrition whether it is hard boiled or soft boiled.

I am looking for myself and my friend , is there any affordable nutritionist that does not just print things off the internet and collect their pay when checking in and knows what they are doing...I am having second thoughts on the one I use and my friend is 7+ Yeats post op so we both are looking for a good effective and experienced educated nutritionist....if I have to pay you for information that I could have printed off myself then I'll save both of us money and time, how long do you have to keep going to them ? I'm a month and few days out so it's important to me any suggestions???? living4myself_gb1-21-13:

I'm trying to think of ways to make the changes I'll be making fun. One thing I've thought of is making my lunches both pre- and post-surgery with a bento box. I was thinking of getting little, decorate-able containers for Protein powders, skim milk powder, and arranging them in cute ways with bouillon cubes and drink mix packets for the first few weeks and then little spice containers for my purees and later meals. It'll let me measure things more precisely and look cute instead of "a bunch of powder." It really won't take any longer than measuring stuff already does. I was also thinking of starting to slow down my meals by cutting them up into tiny bites (as I'll need…

I was sleeved on 2/13/13 and I get around 500 calories per day. Just wondering where I am on the continuum. I've been stalled for almost a week! I've been exercising like crazy too. I was back up to 272 this morning! I was 268-269 for awhile and then I go up and down! It's so frustrating VSG Date: 2/13/13 SW:285lbs HW:302 5'3"

Has anyone been to Disney World since having their sleeve? I'm planning a May trip and I'll be 5 months post-op. I have no idea what I would be able to eat there. I'm wondering if I should bring all my own food. I do not want to stray from my diet plan and 4 oz.-per-meal limitation. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

Does anyone else face food challenges? I'm talking about seeing, smelling and being around food we can no longer eat. Here are some foods I somehow found the willpower to resist (BUT wished I could have indulged!): * McDonald's fries and Shamrock shakes * buttered popcorn at the movies * icy cold Diet Coke

What's everyone daily diet look like? I am cleared for regular foods again and am having a hard time figuring out what I should be eating a day. I am afraid I will eat too much or too little and not have this work for me. ( I do have the notes from my surgeon to follow as well but they aren't very detailed.)

I like beef and at three months post op find that filet mignon, when chewed thoroughly and eaten slowly, goes down very well and keeps me feeling full for an extended period of time. Here is my question: is it better to eat a filet that rare, medium, medium-well or well-done. My preference has been medium. I also find that I can eat an entire 6-ounce steak in 30 minutes as long as I eat nothing but the steak. I enjoy the flavor and feel satisfied. Is 6 ounces too much? Should I eat fewer ounces of steak but more ounces of something else, such as vegetables or fruit? I am not touching bread or rice. Is 6 ounces too much? I do feel full but do not feel on pain af…

Okay, I have been totally obsessing and reading /watching everything I can find about sugar and carbs. I have realized that I am a sugar addict and the sleeve has not changed it. No matter how much I read about how bad it is for me, I still go for that cookie, or seek out that pastry. And let me tell you: they go down fantastically well. Any tips from my fellow sugar addicts on how to kick this habit? I know it's why my weight loss has been so slow..... I know better, so much better, but seems like sweets have power over me! Crazy that an object controls my behavior. The sleeve has only limited the quantity I can have at one sitting, nothing else. p…
