6 months post op
I started out in the beginning with just walking 20 -30 minutes a day. I now work out at least 5 days a week, 30 minutes of cardio and usually an hour of strength training. I used to hate exercise, but as I have gotten smaller, working out has gotten so much easier. I actually look forward to going to the gym now!

Having RNY is the best thing I have ever done for myself! 6 months out and I have gone from 330 to 190 and still losing every week. 30 pounds away from my goal of 160. My only regret is that I did not have this surgery 10 years ago!- November 2012 Members Post Op
Almost 8 weeks post op and down 55 pounds. Feeling so good and so happy with my decision to have RNY! Left- night before surgery 330 lbs. Right- tonight 275 lbs.- please tell me any difficulties and if you retreat

Be realistic in expecting how you will feel after surgery. I wasn't. I had convinced myself that it would be a breeze and I wouldn't have much pain. Truth is that this is a very painful surgery. But, with pain meds of course it is tolerable. As others have said expect nausea and some vomiting. The first two weeks I felt like total crap. But then I started feeling much better! I promise you once you get past the first couple of weeks if you do what your dr. says and eat appropriately the weight will be coming off and you will start feeling great! I had surgery on 11/5 and have lost 54 pounds. I am feeling great and KNOW having this surgery is the best decision I have ever made!- Help after surgery?
I thought I would be fine by myself but I ended up needing help for a few days. Also, for me it was an emotional time and it was nice to have someone there to talk to and offer support.- Who is your doctor? What hospital are/have you used?
I used Dr. David Kim in Colleyville, Texas and had surgery at Forest Park Hospital in Dallas. I can't say enough good things about both!- walden farms
I've tried a few and the Ranch Mayo is not bad. It doesn't taste just like ranch dressing, but for zero calories what can you expect? I will say that the chipotle mayo was awful!- Feeling Weak Post-op
I ended up in the hospital with dehydration issues. Remember to sip sip sip it will make a huge difference in the way you feel. I am 7 weeks post op and finally last week I really began to feel back to normal and have a good energy level. Hang in there it will get better before you know it!- Constipation? :/ LoL
I was having a really bad problem with constipation. At my 6 week follow up my dr. said to take 2 colace and one dose of Miralax each day and to continue to take it until I became regular. I did it for 6 days and have been regular and had no more problems.- I just dont understand!
Same thing happens to me. The one thing that seems to consistently bother me is chicken. - 6 months post op
