Recommended Posts

Hi guys I am 6 months post op now and I am drinking my Protein Shakes for Breakfast. I've started noticing it doesn't keep me full too long and I do better if I have solid food in the am. Anyone else eating solid food for bfast. And if so what? I'm lost at ideas for breakfast. Thanx

I've been really bad with Protein. I haven't drank a Protein Shake in months! lol. I do eat eggs, turkey, chicken etc... But I highly doubt I'm getting in the recommended 60g per day. So far everything has been ok. But I want to do better so I recently purchased some unflavored powder... It still leaves that protein smell in my drinks but I just drink it with a straw so I don't have to smell it. Ugh! I normally eat yogurt or boiled egg for breakfast.! Now I can eat two boiled eggs. I'm super happy about that. (Even though I'm full after that). But my sleeve is progressing...! Good Luck~

Egg beaters are quick and easy to make for Breakfast. I add some chopped up chicken to mine, plus some chopped bell peppers and maybe mushrooms for a little omelette. They will also cook in a bowl in the microwave.

I also want to add, if you add chia seeds to your Protein shakes and let them sit and gel for 30 minutes or so they get a lot thicker and are much more filling. The shake will keep you satisfied much longer. Not to mention it helps tremendously with regularity issues.

I gave up liquid Protein as soon as I could! I never liked the shakes or shots! At my 3 month post op checkup, my surgeon told me that I should be EATING my 60g daily. Since then I have been eating a 20g Protein Bar (Cliff's Builders vanilla Almond) for breakfast every day along with my morning cup of Decaf. I easily get in the rest of my Protein during the day. I focus on a balanced diet and all Is well. My bm's are regular and I have no complaints :) loving my sleeve! I've lost 80lbs in 10 months and I'm keeping it moving to losing 150lbs! Yay!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
