I love frozen edamame, steamed and salted and sometimes a dash of cayenne pepper. I love dried edamame, roasted with a little sea salt for crunch, Fiber, and Protein. http://www.amazon.com/Seapoint-Farms-Roasted-Edamame-Lightly/dp/B0094IXKME/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1381953887&sr=8-3&keywords=dried+edamame But I ADORE crunchamame! They're a little pricey but they taste so good! http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=crunchamame It's kind of like pirate booty texture--light fluffy, crunchy and enough protein and fiber in it to not feel bad about it. VERY filling. One serving is 1/2 cup and that's 90 calories. I can…

What are most people's symptoms after eating too much or the wrong foods? If I am too hungry and start eating I will not realize I am full until it is too late - I have had sweats and feel super uncomfortable etc nauseated - will later end up with diarrhea? I don't throw up but wish I could - what do other experience ? Is this normal

I have been thinking about upping my natural intake of micronutrients by increasing kale, other greens, other veggies etc in some sort of Protein drink concoction. sounds gross, but I cant think of a better way to get all that good stuff without popping supplement pills - i want real foodsources. Those vitamixes are pricey. I own a magic bullet, not sure how well it cando the job I will test it. Curious if there are others who do this and what type of device is needed.

I am 4 weeks out. On soft foods. Once a week, we go out to a pub for trivia and dinner. What kinds of things are you ordering when you go out that fit in a soft food diet? Is broccoli cheese soup out of the question? Fish? Shrimp? Just looking for some ideas.

I use to love my meats BUT now I have real issues. Even with eggs. I have disguised them with light gravies and grits on my eggs. When I eat them (meat or eggs) I am running to the bathroom and not to throw up. They go straight through me! I am 10 weeks post op and should be able to eat but I'm stuck in a real food funk. Anyone else having these issues? I have lost 60lbs - woot woot BUT fearful of too fast of a loss in 10 weeks. Any food suggestions would be great too!

Has anyone else noticed that when you drink warm soup that you stay satiated longer, have less of an appetite, and stay full? It's brilliant, plus the best part is that you are barely taking in any calories; I recently made a soup from beef bone broth, a few ounces of shredded steak, cabbage, mushrooms, onions, carrots, and a tiny splash of V8. I was experimenting and made all of this in my electric kettle. A cup of this soup is maybe 30 calories! And it tastes better with every passing day, win!

Found this new tomato sauce at Stator bros. 1/2 cup is 50 calories and the sauce is very tasty. Although it is very expensive $9.99 for the jar. I took hot Italian turkey sausage browned it, and mixed a 1/2 cup of this new sauce. It made two meals for me. I have a problem with sugar anything over 1 gram and I will dump. Yesterday was a good day, no dumping and at least 60 ounces of water. The sauce name is Lucini Italia Hearty Artichoke Tomato Sauce 100% natural no sugar added (made in Italy)

Am preparing for coming home after surgery on November 20. I am to have pureed food prior to leaving the hospital. It's just my husband and I at home, and would love suggestions on regular meals I can make to satisfy my Protein intake, as well as giving my husband a decent meal at the same time. I was thinking white bean chicken chili would be okay pureed? Soups? Maybe spaghetti and meatballs while I only eat the meatballs?

So last night, my bf really wanted to order a pizza for delivery. I suggested Hawaiian style (ham and pineapple) on a crispy thin crust. He thought that sounded great. So when we sat down for dinner, I found that I got full after only ONE piece!! I was sooo happy!! Normally, I could eat 4 or 5 slices of regular pizza. He took the rest to work today.

Morning everyone, for those who drink the green smoothies and/or juice, how long did you wait to incorporate them into your diet? I'm a little over 10 weeks out and have been cleared for all foods since week 5 but am still a little hesitant. My green smoothie consists of almond milk, ground flax meal, PB2, baby spinach, banana, strawberries and Protein powder. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

I LOVE THIS STUFF!!! From now on I use coconut oil for sauteing and extra-virgin oil oil for cold things. I've been reading about all the benefits of oils that don't oxidize and damage your arteries. Saturated fat is good for us! Who knew? Cereals and grains are the things that have been causing inflammation in arteries and high cholesterol is not necessarily bad. Everything the government said was bad for us turned out to be good and vice-versa. Why am I not surprised there? I love the taste of the coconut oil too. It does have a slightly sweet taste to it, but it agrees with me. I like the olive oil for the same reason -- it has a taste to it.

This will be brief. Was at Whole Foods yesterday and spied these "natural high Protein meal bars". I got the Raw Cashew Cacao as it had the highest protein content with lowest net carbs of the available choices (19p 38c with 12f). If you are into all natural meal bars and like the taste of pure evil mixed with a dash of ass then this is the bar for you. Pros: It IS in fact a healthy all natural Meal Replacement bar. No questions there. It provides what it says it does. Cons: It looks like what my dog deposits in the back yard and while I do not have empirical data on the next comparison I'm guessing it tastes similar as well. They must call this Warrior Meal as …

Although I'm only 20 days out, I know that there is going to come those days when I'm out and about and end up at a fast food restaurant. I came across this site and thought I'd share it. 7 short pages but has some healthier alternatives, low in calories and fat and high in protein and also list different fast food places. (Also sure that I couldn't eat one of these whole meals but better to eat the healthier foods even in smaller amounts) (sorry if this has been mentioned before). Hope it helps. http://www.m.webmd.com/food-recipes/features/21-healthier-fast-food-meals

Holy constipation! I haven't been able to go on my own since surgery. I've used stool softeners and laxatives. Laxatives are the only thing that works but I don't want to get dependent on them. Both the softeners and laxatives say don't use for more than a week. Someone suggested milk of magnesia but I've never had it. I broke down and bought some but the same thing, "don't use for more than a week". Does anyone have any suggestions? Diet options? I want to limit the number of medications that I have to take.

Just thought I'd share: our local store had a sale on bison steaks so I picked some up for dinner just to try something new. I checked the label and in a 6 oz steak it is 180 cal and 40 grams of protein! Wow! I wish they were always on sale!

Just had my 6 month follow up. Overall I am doing well and slightly ahead of schedule as far as weight loss. Every morning I have cottage cheese topped with fruit and almonds for breakfast and I love it. My doc said it is fine for now but as time goes on the mushy foods will not keep me full. I love the taste and how quick and easy it is but I need new ideas now. I'm know I will not be making myself eggs in the morning. Smoothies and protein shakes re not okay either. . Any ideas????? I appreciate it.

FoR two days now, no dumping yeah for me! Anything with more than a gram of sugar makes me sick to the point of dumping. So when I went grocery shopping I spent two hours looking at every single label. I bought egg whites and turkey sausage. Two tablespoons of egg whites and one Jimmy Dean turkey sausage, microwave it for 45 seconds and you have a yummy Breakfast. lunch was weight watchers taco Soup and dinner was a meatball with sugar free artichoke tomato sauce. I made the meatballs prior to surgery and have them in the freezer. I guess I am a slow learner it has taken me five weeks to read all the labels prior to consuming anything! Sent from my iPad using RNYTalk

I remember being kinda surprised when my NUT told me that chips were off limits forever. She called them a slider food, but not in the traditional ice cream sense. But rather because they crunch up so small in your sleeve and have so many calories and no nutritional value, something we all know. But I have way too much time on my hands so I decided to do some experiments just to see how small they would crunch up. Keep in mind my big blender died suddenly last night from unnatural causes so I had to use my wife's small pulse blender. I'm betting the big blender would have chomped these chips up even finer. First victim....11.5 ounce bag of everybody's favorit…

Atkins baking mix has been discontinued! I was so sad when I went to my local health food store last weekend. I used it a lot in recipes I found online, specifically Bariatric Foodie. I've looked on the Atkins website and on Amazon and nothing... does anyone know where I could still get it? I know it's kinda limited the stores that sell it. Or have an unopened bag they'd want to sell?

I know we shouldn't snack too much, but if they're not bad, it might be something good for me to take to work…. I work 13 hr days and often only have time for a bite here or there…. thoughts?

I am wondering what kind of snacks everyone is eating? I found some trail mixes are pretty good for you and nuts. Along with yogurt and sugar free popsicles. I have also stocked up on string cheese.
