Why does it say to not eat popcorn for at least 6 months? Is there a specific reason such as it can hurt your sleeve? Or is it to simply make sure you are in a good "dieting" state of mind so you do not slip back into bad habits?

I'm three months post op and looking for new ideas. I'm getting bored with counting protein and my food choices haven't been the best for the last 2 weeks. I went on Amazon to order some cookbooks for motivation. Do you have any WLS books, cookbooks, or websites that you love. The Internet is so full of information that it is overwhelming at times.

I once had a Bento I used for lunches. I used to be inspired by a blogger who would use the same bento and take a picture of their lunch each day. She had so many wonderful ideas. Has any fellow slivers done something like that ... document their meals day to day in a blog? That would be so inspirational for newbies like me.

Any thoughts on the Atkins frozen dinners? I see that they're low in carbs, and high in protein and pretty high in calories(360) and sodium(830)- turkey dinner for example.

I have just started my 4th week post op. Looking for high Protein options for food. I have found some high protein I can find low or no sugar/low carb but I find the fat is a little high. Are you guys seeing this too? Also, Laughing Cow light cheese wedges - are these ok?

I'm a nursing student so I need some tips on high protein snacks on the go. It's hard for me to bring chicken breast or high protein meats to class and clnical. Does anyone have any tips on what to eat on the go to feel full? I am still on soft foods but am tolerating crackers. I have been eating wheat thins to increase my fiber intake, but they aren't too great for protein.

Today is day two of my two week pre op diet. Liquids only with one protein bar daily. I find myself not hungry cause I'm drinking so much but it doesn't help that my family orders pizza for lunch and is eating it right in front of me. So, I guess I'm trying my hardest but I ate some of the cheese and pepperoni topping. Anyone else have family not trying to sabotage but their eating habits are affecting yours? I need some help here. Maybe some word of encouragement or advise. I'm so lost. And this bouillon, crystal light, Nd protein shake only diet is already getting to me. FYI surgery is December 20th.

Ever since Ive been sleeved which is just shy of a year now Ive had issues with being constipated. Ive pretty much had to take a stool softener every day for the past year just to get stuff moving along. But I FINALLY found something that works for me and works darn good I might add. I bought a dehydrator! chips, sweet potato chips and kale chips. Im telling what, the apple chips are so friggin delicious (I spray the lightly with coconut oil that I got at Whole Foods and then toss them every so lightly in a cinnamon/sugar mix, mostly cinnamon and super light on the sugar). We love them so much that we have to keep a stash on hand at all times because my hubby is a …

Hi guys. Had surg the 22nd of November and I was just cleared for soft/puréed foods. I'm allowed to have chili - I want to put a little shredded cheese on top to amp up the protein but I have heard people sometimes have an issue with the stringy texture after the cheese melts. Anyone want to offer insight?

Last night for dinner we had borritos with salad tomatoes cheese and corn chips. I took a photo of my plate to see how much I actually ate. I was pretty sure I had piled food on my plate that I knew in wasn't going to eat. Here are before and after photos I ate a bit which I was happy with. But I did scrape off the melted cheese and picked out the potatoes in the meat. Anyone else willing to show their plates?

I travel extensively internationally and I'll admit that over the last several years I've enjoyed eating my way across Europe, Asia and Africa. But I'm 2 weeks post sleeve surgery now and I leave for a week in India, 3 weeks in NZ and a week in Beijing starting at 4 weeks post op. I've stocked up on bags of Jay Robbs egg white and whey protein powders and I'm assuming I'll be able to get a poached egg for breakfast. But I wanted to know if there were any other road warrior sleevers who could give me the benefit of their experiences.

Hey guys I'm just two days into my mushy phase(surg 11/20) so I don't have a ton of mushy recipes in my arsenal yet, wondering if anyone could share a good one, so I can take it to share tonight?? It can be holiday themed or regular, just needs to be suited for the phase I am in! My office terms mushy as anything already mushy or that can turn to mush in the mouth!! Thanks a ton, feel free to post many so I can start eating a variety too lol!

This is my seventh day post surgery and I feel great. Started stage 2, light pureed foods to supplement my protein shakes and more choices in my fluids. The hardest thing so far is getting in enough calories. I'm averaging around 600 to 700 calories a day and everything I'm reading calls for 1500 to 2000. I'm not hungry, taking in 3 to 4 protein shakes a day and am on vitamin supplements. I saw my surgeon yesterday and she was encouraging, she told me that I was getting plenty of nutrition from the shakes and supplements and during the healing process just listen to my body. I have been very fortunate in that I have not had a problem keeping things down or swallowin…

I am 6 weeks out and experiencing an aversion to food I never thought possible! I was prepared to have no appetite; however, even the mere THOUGHT of eggs literally makes me gag! My gag reflex was pretty bad pre-op, but I've noticed it's worse now post-op. The smell of certain foods makes me gag too. Anyone else experience this change? Sometimes I gag and even vomit a little. When I do eat (not much), I'm able to keep it down so I don't think anything is stuck in there, I'm just worried I should be eating more at this stage and not feeling so "blah."

Has anyone else tried this? I bought a block (cautiously...since I had never heard of it before) when it was on sale. I was pleasantly surprised by it. It has a little less calories that regular cream cheese and it has more Protein. It does have a different sort of flavor than regular cream cheese...maybe a bit of a tang to it? Hard to describe. Anyway, I went back and bought a bunch more while it was on sale. The funny thing was it is the store brand...and usually they make a store brand to compete with a name brand but I have search (at my store anyway) and not seen a "name brand" of this kind of cream cheese. I think that's kind of odd. Anyway, thought it was wor…

What your diet and exercise will look like following the procedure. I am having the sleeve. I want to set up a menu plan. I don't cook so it has to be very easy meals. And what kind of exercise and when did you started to exercise after the surgery. I do zumba, strength weights, yoga, machines, I was going all five days and then I stopped for # months and went back on my birthday on nov 8th then stopped again and been back 3 days. Do you all have menus or a list of food that he eat all the time, like a set eating plan. Thanks

Ok, I need some help with recipes specific to cooking venison and elk meat. My husband got his buck over the weekend and is on his elk hunting this week. We have 200 pounds of venison.....sigh I am not a fan of venison! (never have been) Do not like the gamey taste AT ALL. Elk however I do really like. So I have never cooked either. My husband fries them in butter and season. "YIKES" So my question is there anyone who can help me out by sharing recipe's that are sleeve friendly Any replies are a huge help!!!

I'm going to be sleeved on December 17th. I pretty much have no choice but to return to work on January 2nd which will place me right in the middle of purees. I'll be on purees for a week and then transition to soft food once my doctor allows it. I have a private office and access to a fridge and microwave. I've got a bunch of stage 2 Ella's pouches coming which I though would be more discreet than a baby for jar and plenty of espresso spoons to work with. I'll be drinking the majority of my Protein in Isopure drinks so I can hydrate and get my protein and not stress out so much on eating tons of protein. Does anyone have great easy to make and pack ideas for work …

Stress eating and bad food decisions born of poor planning are my biggest challenges, so I've made a meal plan for the week ahead, down to mid-morning and afternoon Snacks (I'm going Hobbit style and referring to the former as Second Breakfast). I was worrying myself something fierce about the Protein shakes and my complete inability to choke them down, but I'm focusing on just eating healthy for right now and then when liquid diet comes, I'll muscle through. My Mom had the bypass and she assured me that the liquids are such a short phase and will be over before I know it! The Protein Shakes aren't forever, but the healthy eating is, so that's what I'm choosing to devot…

Hey fellow weight loss friends! I had my gastric bypass surgery on October 3rd, and a I'm now on full liquids. All I'm 'eating' is Creme of Wheat with Silk (light almond milk) because I am so done with broth of any kind. Does anyone have suggestions on different savory hot 'foods' I can eat? I'm a few days away from puree foods so I'm also looking for puree suggestions too! Thank you!

Hello everyone! Although I've been "stalking" this website for months now and gathering great info, this is my first time posting on here! Just a few days ago, I was FINALLY given a surgery date of December 17th! Talk about coming down to the wire, since I would no longer be covered on my work insurance starting January 1st. Woohoo!!! This has been a long 6 months of waiting so the time is finally here! Anyway, months ago, we scheduled a one night trip with another couple (our closest friends, so you can see where this is going...) and are supposed to go out for a nice dinner that night/breakfast in the am before we head home. I will be 11 days post op and I am choosi…
