Help! I feel so confused on the nutritional information I have gotten from my surgical clinic v. the information I learned in these documentaries. Casein (Protein from animal products) is important, per my surgeon. According to Forks over Knives, it'll give me cancer! I'm about 3 weeks out and seriously considering juicing for a month after watching these documentaries. I'm not usually so easily swayed, but maybe I've had my head in the sand about nutrition for too many years and now feel completely confused about the contradictory information I've learned. Have you seen these documentaries? Do they completely contradict the nutritional advise you've been given…

I am looking for a sweetener to use in my tea in the mornings. I don't add it to anything else. I am not allowed any sugar alcohols, and can not stand it if something I drink leaves an after taste in my mouth. I thought about adding some vanilla protein powder but I am afraid it will clump because I like me tea to be HOT.

I swore up and down that after spending 12k out of my pocket that I wouldnt cheat, easier said than done. Im originally from Australia (now Texas) and a friend sent me a care package (before surgery) which had my favorite chicken chips in them and I had some left over after surgery. I am guilty of stealing some here and there. The only good thing is that they are very salty and make me drink more Water. Be honest....what have you eaten that you shouldn't?

http://www.bluediamond.com/index.cfm?navId=704 You ever tried these? They are really good. My wife went on a recent trip and came back with these. 160 calories for 1 oz from a little sugar and good fat. 6 G Protein. A good little snack. They can be addicting if you like mocha flavor.

Does anyone eat Wendy's Chili? I heard it is not too bad to eat, everything in it is soft and easy to chew, and I looked up the nutrition list and it is packed with protein and fiber. Is this something that is ok to eat if you're out and about and need something quick?

I see a lot of folks saying that frozen yogurt is bad... The non frozen yogurt has 0 fat; 5 Mg cholesterol; 150 Mg sodium; 510 potassium; 15 carbs with 15 grams coming from sugars; and 11g of Protein. The frozen yogurt from Brahms has 2 grams of fat; 10 mgs of cholesterol; 60 Mg of sodium; 6g of sugar and 10g of sugar alcohols; and 4 g of protein. It is no sugar added and has the splenda label Would the frozen yogurt be bad to use as a Protein shake base? I like the consistentcy better but ive heard a lot of negative remarks regarding frozen yogurt. Reg yogurt is fine.... I actually like cottage cheese better as a base though; yogurt plain tastes so …

I'm going to Costco with a friend for the first time. As I've been reading threads I seem to remember several people who say they got this or that from Costco. I know I'm going to look for the liquid protein that someone mentioned. Also I think someone else mentioned chicken burgers. Any other suggestions???

Hi everyone! I am going back to work soon, and I travel a ton for work. When I get home on Thursday night I need to get myself dinner, and Breakfast and lunch for Friday without having time to get to the grocery store. I don't like to buy fresh ingredients that won't be eaten on the weekend because they are usually very sad by the time I get home. Do you have any recommendations for good freezer or cupboard staples that I could use, or refregerator items that will last several weeks? Because I work and travel so much I often fall into the trap of convenience / take out. I want to make sure this doesn't happen again so getting the house stocked with thing…

Hi everyone Hoping you might provide some nutritional help. My friends son was involved in very bad ATV accident and is in a long recovery from facial reconstruction. He can have "lumpy liquids" if that makes any sense. He is desperate for cheeseburgers or pizzas - and I know some of you have been processing fast foods down. Please post any ideas you have on this - he is getting tired of Soups !! Thanks so much !! Kay

OK, I have heard quite a bit about dumping syndrome, and it is definitely not something I EVER want to experience if I do end up with bypass! From what I have read, it occurs when you eat too much sugar or fat. Is this right? Can you all maybe share a few things that have made you feel horrible that you didn't expect? Whether it is dumping or getting stuck. Thanks!

Not allowed protein shakes yet. I am desperate need of some variety. I was thinking of making the old Weight Watchers vegetable soup recipe and straining that. Any other suggestions? Can someone tell me where I can find sugar-free juices? I have to admit that I'm not quite sure what that means. I thought sugar-free juices meant basically no carbs but the ones I saw at Walmart that claimed to be sugar-free all were loaded with carbs. I have a juicer and might have to make my own, at least initially after surgery in 3 days but I'd much rather purchase REAL sugar free juices. I can't live without my juice (which is a soda substitute for me since I was hooked on sodas). Besides, that juicer is HECK to clean!

I know there are threads about eating out, but I just wanted a little specific, anecdotal info about any sleevers eating BBQ (like restuarunt, not backyard grilling). That is by far my boyfriend and my favorite food, apart and together. I want so badly to be able to continue to enjoy it with him from time to time. At the end of the day I'd give it up in a heartbeat, but it would be comforting to know that "never again" is not going to be my new reality.

Has anyone tried to make electrolyte Water instead of drinking G2 or Power Aid Zero? My surgeon it's advising me to stop the G2 because of the calories and I'm still no fan of artificial sweeteners. Don't care for the taste and they are not very good for you either. I don't mind water but I need the electrolytes to stay and feel hydrated. I've looked online at some homemade electrolyte drink recipes. I'm thinking about doing them or making a type of infused water with a little added punch. Bad idea? Good idea?

I have a question...I had my surgery july 18,2013 and ive had no complications...the only issue ive had is constipation. And that started my 3rd week after surgery when i could eat "soft food"..i got through that painfully. Then i was able to use the bathroom normally. Then just a few days ago i got constipated again and had to drink magnesium citrate which worked wonders lol. Made me feel a little better too lol. And now im on a " regular diet" but im so scared to eat...ive just been eating soup. I did have a small piece of chicken (it was very soft) and after i ate it my stomach was killing me..its like i felt it going through my bowels and everything...it was hurting …

I had my sleeve in September. I was told that I wasn't allowed hardly any carbs – just stay away from bread, Pasta , potatoes, oatmeal, fruits and I was only allowed little to no veggies… It has been hard because I never seem to really get a straight answer from the nutritionist at the doctors office. I am to have less than 30 carbs total. So, I try not to think about even thinking about any non-approved food. I'm okay on the bread pasta and potato front… I knew what I was signing up for but, no oatmeal for Breakfast is somewhat illogical to me because it's always something that is supposedly healthy for us. A Friend of mine who also is on this board says she wasn't gi…
