  3. I lost 40lbs before I went down a pants size. It was gangbusters after that though! Hang in there
  4. Honestly at times I think I'm at the beginning, middle and end of that line. I like to think I'm spending more time in the middle, but I have my moments. It's a never-ending journey, isn't it, trying to find balance?
  5. I'm a hair stylist and I never even considered wls. About 5 years ago a new client came in, a man, skinny little fella. I asked him what he did for a living and he told me he was a bariatric surgeon. I was instantly uncomfortable. Then he went on for 20 minutes about how I should get wls, about how the odd are stacked against me for doing it on my own, about how while I may be able to lose weight on my own but I would never be able to keep it off. Well, needless to say all that did was make me mad and humiliated. He came in every month. He didn't always talk about it but he often did. Not the best bedside manner, but a brilliant and successful surgeon. 4 years after our initial meeting I had surgery, with him as my surgeon. He pissed me off but if he hadn't I may never had even had surgery on my radar. I've never been so grateful to be made mad and humiliated in my life.
  6. Great post... interesting and certainly explains alot!
  7. Considering how newly sleeved you are I think you should definitely wait. Most of us lose a lot the first few weeks, then it slows down considerably for a while then it tends to even out again. Also, at only 7 weeks out 1100 calories sounds like ALOT. You should talk to your nutritionist. I can see doing well after a year or more out but certainly not this early. It's a totally different type of plan and having done ww and having had wls I just don't see how the two could mesh healthily in the beginning. Also keeping it from your surgeon and from ww is your first inclination that you're doing something you shouldn't. Good luck

  10. This is a great post, thank you. Unfortunately I can't keep a secret so I've told everyone. It's astounding to me just how completely ignorant most people are and their pre conceptions amaze me. What's funny is most of the time they think they're right. .. I get comments od disbelief over the amount of food I eat at work, when other people are eating or if someone brings in goodies somebody always apologises. .. I tell them it's ok, that it really doesn't bother me, the truth is, when I look at that stuff all I can think is ,' that looks like it will end up painful'. I honestly just wish people were more informed and didn't just have the gossip from ... my girlfriends cousin's neighbors aunt that had wls said... oh well maybe someday
  11. Don't want to add it to water... but you can add it to just about anything. . Sauces, soup.. juice.. as previous poster said just don't go ove 140degrees
  12. I haven't actually tried this because I haven't had any problems, but my NUT gave me some other options... Add dry powdered milk, it adds a lot of protien. Add powdered egg whites = protein... Carnation instant breakfast, sugar free with powdered milk or plain protein powder. Broth with plain protein powder (I did that, it was good). If you have greek yogurt, you may want to thin it out, it might be too thick for liquid stage until you get into puree or soft. good luck
