I had my VSG Oct. 24th, 2013. I'm a few days past three week mark. I'm struggling to get my Water ounces (64). I accidentally drink too fast, as well, and I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem? My questions are: 1. What can I do to slow down on drinking? 2. What can I do to get my ounces in? 3. Is it normal to not get them everyday?

I'm almost done with the full luquid stage but i went from having no problems with getting all my protein in with shakes to now I can barely get one down. I'm not a big sweets person and all the sweet drinking is really getting to me. Anyone have good ideas for puree stage on getting protein in where I don't have to drink as many sweet shakes?

I'm just curious as to how many carbs or the percentage of carbs that are being used by those of you who use My Fitness Pal. It seems like I'm getting an awful lot of carbs, and that usually is a much higher percentage than my protein. I am getting all my protein in, but I'm a little concerned about the number of carbs I seem to be getting.

I'm going to be sleeved on December 17th. I pretty much have no choice but to return to work on January 2nd which will place me right in the middle of purees. I'll be on purees for a week and then transition to soft food once my doctor allows it. I have a private office and access to a fridge and microwave. I've got a bunch of stage 2 Ella's pouches coming which I though would be more discreet than a baby for jar and plenty of espresso spoons to work with. I'll be drinking the majority of my Protein in Isopure drinks so I can hydrate and get my protein and not stress out so much on eating tons of protein. Does anyone have great easy to make and pack ideas for work …

  11. In my experience so far, my nutritionist keeps going back-and-forth and saying different things over and over again. She just keeps changing her story and there is no way I can afford to go see another dietitian at this point. I know that each doctor is different but I'm trying to just find a resource that is the rule of the thumb when it comes to postop diets / long term with the sleeve… I believe I'm doing pretty well on my own but I may not be enough. My weight loss stalled. It's hard for me to do constant Protein but I'm doing my best to get it in. I'm more of a veggie lover. So I thought that I would ask you guys is there any resources that you found helpful. Take …

Not eggs, not Soup, not Protein shakes, not yogurt, not tea.....NUFFIN' I am hungry and LOW energy and feeling sick from not getting my calories and protein in. My nut just says, do your best and gives me suggestions and tells me to get my Water in as best I can. I just feel awful thinking, will it normalize, is it a phase?

HELP! I'm 9 months out of RNY and for the last several months I've been gaining and losing the same 5 or 6 lbs. I'm scared to death I'm going to fail yet again. I'm going to ramp up my exercise, but I feel like I need specific menus to get me back to losing again. I'd just like to find a book or something that would say , " here is what you eat today, how to cook it, and what to buy at the grocery store." Do any of you know of anything like this?

I'm 1 week out and started mushies today. My Dr told me that I should only consume foods/bites that are smaller than my thumb nail and to chew it until its the consistency of yogurt. Is that what you were told as well and do you actually follow this rule? I made myself 1 egg white today and it took me forever to eat the darn thing and it was kinda gross to chew/swallow it at such a Water, thin consistency. Not appealing. Don't get me wrong, I know there are foods out there that probably require lots and lots of chomping, but is it really necessary for everything we ingest?

I was told that I had to lose 25lbs before they do surgery. So I for up today and made a smoothie. I had Protein powder Benefiber 1/2 c 2% milk 1c broccoli 1/4c cherries 1Tbsp flaxseed And even though it only had 299 calories, it had 28-32 Carbs(I logged in on both sparkpeople & myfitnesspal which gave me different carb readings) I mean Dang! I'm over half in the first smoothie. I do have some Syntrax nectars which don't have any Carbs so I'm going to put them in my day and see how it holds me. I have to get these 25lbs off by Dec. 1st....the lastest so I can get a date before the end of the end. I know its going to be tough but I can do it!

Planning meals with "My Fitness Pal" is like working a puzzle everyday. Trying to fit all my meals and snacks into the day and staying within my nutritional goals of 600 calories, 70 grams of protein, <40 grams of carbohydrates, and < 30 grams of fat is a daily challenge. I plan my day in the morning, enter it all and then I know exactly what I'm going to eat for the rest of the day. No more decisions to make... just follow the plan. It takes a little effort, but it's so worth it, knowing I'm doing my job and then letting my sleeve do the rest. I also use "MFP" to track my exercise. Using the tools assures me I'll get the results I want.

I read on the forums that after you've been on mushies for a bit, you find that you can eat a whole lot more than before. I am finding this to be very true. So the actual use of will power has to start now. What are some of your favorite healthy mushy meals? Right now my favorite is mashed sweet potato with 2 tablespoons of canned salmon. I put a bit of light blue cheese dressing with a can of salmon, and I've been eating it for days. I also put some whey Protein in with the sweet potato. It's wonderful! Other favorites include 1-2 tablespoons of canned salmon in a drained, mixed fruit cup (yummy Breakfast today!) instant mashed potatoes with whey protein and Quo…

I'm 41 days post surgery and in the beginning, my surgeon said I could drink 50ml of Water or liquid and then needed to take a 2 minute break. Once I'd reached 250ml, I needed to take a 30 minute break before eating or drinking anything further. Is this the way I will need to eat/drink forever? I have to get down 3 liters of water a day and at this rate, I'd have to drink 24 hours a day!!!!!! Any tips?

Hi all I'm 9 months post op and I am struggling to drink enough Water throughout the day. 2Lt is a lot for someone who only has 20% of her stomach. I am not sure how much water my stomach can hold at any one time plus I have to be conscious that I don't have water before a meal otherwise my stomach is too full to want to eat. Any suggestions on how you get enough water throughout the day and still manage to eat all your meals? I need to work on a routine. Your help is greatly appreciated. Lee.

Could someone spell out for me what the protein drinks that are allowed in pre op liquid diet are? I am imaging them as clear liquid but are any flavored? Is fiber bad? I assume this isn't the time for protein shakes such as chocolate flavored from GNC? Is that afterwards you are all talking about with the bars and such? I want to do this correctly, I have started on medifast 70 days out from surgery, I didn't want to wait until the last minute.
