Hello all!

My story seems like 3 lifetimes of trying to lose weight! From puberty, those pounds packed on! Thanks to my mom's genes and my love affair with snacking and secret eating. But, I was always bold, confident and had tons of friends, all the while overcompensating with humor to hide my painful insecurity about my self image. As the years went by, I spent countless hours, tears and dollars on "quick fixes", magic pills, fad diets, exercise gadgets, groups, gyms, lotions & potions and even an eating disorder. My closet had 6 different sizes in it at any given time as my yo-yo weight loss had become the norm.

In 2008, I decided after Jenny, WW, LA Weightloss, Richard Simmons, California Diet, Atkins and all those other guys that I would give the surgeon a run for his money. I underwent a Lap band and hated every second of it. I struggled with getting stuck and daily pain & regret for 5 years. Not to mention, the public failure and disappointment I thought I was from being so vocal about my decision yet, getting ZERO results. On top of that, I put ON so much more weight.

Overcoming that one was a feat, but thanks to the strong support of friends and family, I can confidently say, I put it behind me and learned SO much about myself. I realized, I am a really great person and people really DO like me for ME and not the size of my ever growing jeans.

One person in particular REALLY loved me for who I was, my sweet, loving husband. We met in Hyderabad India while I was here doing humanitarian aid work and fell in love. He flew to NY to meet my family, proposed in Central Park and we got married in front of the Bellagio Fountains, Las Vegas, NV this past April. We have now moved here to India.

I found out that I should not even consider starting a family until my old band was out, but with ZERO insurance and a week until I boarded a plane to another country, I just had to put that thought on hold. Once we arrived, we began our meticulous search for a suitable surgeon with the accolades good enough to remove this annoying thing.

That's when our search paid off and we found the right person for us who was USA trained and certified. On October 5th, 2013, Dr. Krishna Mohan changed my life forever, by removing my old, useless band and revising with a Vertical Gastric Sleeve.

10 days later and almost 30 pounds down, I feel like I just woke up in my life and that the help I've so longed for has finally come knocking at my door with answers.

Thank goodness again for a strong faith, friends, family & an amazing husband who helped me get through these past years and are committed to the next season of healing, learning and recovery.

Blessings on your own journey and thanks for reading my bio!
