Hey everyone. So Tuesday I start the final stage of the diet. I realized this a few days ago, and I don't know exactly how to start. What foods should I start reintroducing? I'm at 248 now. I want to keep losing. Also, question for everyone: Right now, I can barely fit in all the Protein I have to eat. I haven't been eating many vegetables. Is this alright?

Called my doctor today because I am getting horrible leg cramps! They are going to do blood work to see if it could be dehydration. I try and drink as much water as I can but it is hard! How does anyone get a lot of water in? I can only do about 4 ounces at a time. I am also too afraid if I over drink that it could stretch my stomach or possibly make me throw up.

At 2 months out, I can eat 2 eggs and 2 slices of bacon. I'm full then. Does that sound like too much? I hope I'm not failing. EDIT: It's turkey bacon!

I have been plagued by very bad constipation since my surgery two months ago. My doctor said to try Miralax. Several doses later and, ahh, sweet relief. However, as soon as I stop taking it the constipation returns. My doctor has said that I can take daily Miralax for life if I need to. Has anyone else been told this by their doctor? I am reluctant use daily, chemical laxative if there are other choices. Daily prunes, high fiber cereal, and plenty of water have not been sufficient to ease my pain. Miralax is very effective but a bit spooky for me to take daily. What is your experience?

I just saw Chris and Heidi Powell post a recipe for Protein Cookies using Protein shake powder as a primary ingredient. Might be an interesting way to use up some of that powder you can't stand drinking anymore, or just a different way to meet those protein goals. http://heidipowell.net/2790/cinnacocoa-frosted-protein-cookies/

I would like to start a food log. I'd like to be a step ahead of my WLS clinic before I seem them, and show them I have lost weight because I am keeping a food log. I had to do a log when I was initially banded, three small meals, two snacks and a safe dessert if I was good that day. My NUT had me follow the South Beach diet, it SUCKED. Assuming my diet will be different than the South Beach, what kinds of food do RNYer's eat? Is there a list of do's and don'ts? Tell me or show me what you do.

Does anyone have a picture of what a normal portion size is and what a sleever eats? I'm wondering how much smaller are our meals versus an actual portion size.

I'm a about a month away from surgery and planning out meals (if you can call liquids a meal ). I'm thinking I should probably upgrade my GE personal blender. Does anyone own the Ninja or the Nutra Bullet? I'm leaning towards the Ninja but I'd like to hear from folks who already use them. Thanks in advance!

I had RNY on 6/26/13 and had emergency surgery 8/2/13. I have had nothing but complications since my RNY on 6/26. I am currently on TPN and don't know of anyone who has been in my shoes or is going through the same thing. Any reply will be greatly appreciated♥

I ordered 4 boxes and the code GIVEMEMORE (must be in CAPS) worked. They also have $1.00 flat rate shipping. If you're a GNC member there is an additional discount. With that and the code I got each box for $18.89.

I really need some ideas. I've mostly been eating low fat cottage cheese with a slice of deli turkey chopped in. Otherwise it's still soups and cream of wheat. I need variety! Any suggestions are appreciated!

I'm about 6 weeks out from surgery so I've been teeing out protein powders. So far, only tried Unjury and I get a little nausea with them. I've done medifast in the past and I used to get a little nausea with those shakes too. Is it possible whatever protein is in these doesn't sit well? I'm guessing it is whey protein, right?

I'm a person who need variety and I have a feeling that if I do want to eat after surgery ill get bored eating the same things. Could you offer some advice on what your favorite things to eat were? So far I've bought: sugar free jello/pudding , several flavors of protein including unflavored, applesauce pouches, and mashed potatoes. I'm trying to think of some soft foods/liquids that will be healthy! As of now I don't really want to live on jello and pudding! Lol. Any input would help! And my surgery is September 16th!

Hey there! I'm so happy I found this forum I'm a new sleevee (4 days post op), got released from the hospital yesterday. Ofcourse me being me, I did not do my homework properly before surgery , so now I'm confused about Vitamin / Protein intake. I was instructed by the hospital staff to only take 2 suckable Centrum tablets a day and thats pretty much it. What kind of other Vitamins should I concentrate on? I'm especially worried about hair loss, any special vitamins for that? What about protein powders? How much should I take? Which brands work best? Can I even take Protein powder 4 days post op? I was told I need to drink as much protein as I can. Problem w…

I have been exercising more than I ever had and I am feeling very weak/tired. And was hoping to talk to someone on how to put a better plan together for me. Has anyone ever worked with a nutritionist? How do I hire one (I would love to find one that knows about our surgery)? And how much do they cost? Thanks

I was wondering how many calories you are all getting each day? I'm currently three weeks post op and have just started solids like lean meats and low fat cheeses. I'm averaging about 700-800 calories a day and 80 grams of protein. I don't know if that is too many calories? I have looked online a lot and people either say that is too much or that any less than that and your body goes into starvation mode. I feel a little lost as to how many calories I should be getting. A little background, I am a Lapband to Sleeve revision. I was 290 when banded, lost 70 lbs, then gained 80. I was back to 290 when I was sleeved so I basically feel like I am starting from the beginning…

ARG! 1st I'm irritated that there are people with the sleeve who can have pizza, eggs, cereal(with liquid not dry) and don't feel sick when eating most food. I'm 7 months out and there are a lot of foods that don't agree with me...ALOT. I was so unbelievably hungry today and every single meal or snack ended in disaster today. I was out in the world, instead of at home, and realized that every single restaurant around didn't have any non fried, fresh food that wasn't a salad (lettuce and all its friends hate me in a vicious kind of way) and wasn't just a piece of grilled chicken. I just broke down and cried. My husband felt bad cause he knows how much I struggle and …

Have any of you tried this? It has a good balance of Protein, complex carb and some good fats. This particular variety came from costco. Here it is as part of my lunch today: Here are some nutritional stats on it: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/calories/costco-cedarlane-quinoa-tabouli-75431816 I just do not like that the sodium is so high (probably mostly to preserve rather than flavor). Keep in mind that nut stats are for 1/2 cup. I have about 1.5 tbsp on my plate. It does not look hard to make from scratch. I am sure some of you chef inclined folks could make this fairly easily. chicken on plate is about 3 ounces and is sort of prepared like satay witho…

I'm here visiting my family and have just discovered crystal light. I'm having trouble drinking Water and need flavoring. So I added a sachet of it to a glass of water. But it was way too sweet and strong. So I'm going to experiment. But what other food/drink products that are bariatric friendly.

Today I had apple.juice because I have been craving something other than aspartame. I diluted it 50/50 and it was gross. I usually like my drinks where down so I dont think that was the problem. I also took a bite of my sons fries (naughty me, whatever) and that was gross too. As matter of fact I don't like the taste of anything. What's wrong with me? Everything has the same bland taste. It makes me sick to my stomach.

Hi everyone, I keep hearing about smoothie king gladiators and I was just wondering what your opinions are. I'm sorry if this thread already exists!! I've been craving lots of fruits. It says it can be used with fruit juice or natural fruit. I was going to do natural fruit - or is it not worth it because of added carbs/sugar? I eat berries daily and sometimes peaches and had no problem. I am still los…

I wonder if you are able to meet your protein, fluid, and supplement needs without obsessing,.craving, and logging all intake as time goes by? My hope is that I won't wake up thinking of food, be driven by my cravings and appetite, and won't feel that I have to eat what I see on TV (right now!) Has your gastric sleeve, even after the honeymoon period, allowed you to put food in it's proper perspective? Does the diet after surgery ever become...well...routine? Thanks...I am so tired of being ruled by food and wonder if this is a way to end that lifelong struggle.
