Cup of shaved ice

Okay this may be completely stupid but if I am eating shaved ice, post op of corse, is a cup of ice the same as a cup of water! If we're only supposed to take small sips is it okay to have a bite of ice? I love ice, eat it all the time.

You should be fine, as it will all be water by the time it hits your stomach. Since ice is less dense than water, and has some air between the bits of ice, a cup of ice will be less than a cup of water - how much less will depend upon how finely shaved it is. Weigh it to be sure, as an ounce of ice by weight is the same as an ounce of water by volume.

Hi that is really not a silly question. Im sure more of us wondered the same thing. Depending on how big your ice shavings.. but one and a half cup is more or less equal to one cup of water. The ice also helps for the swelling of the new stomack where it was cut. So go ahead and eat up..it is only good for you. Also don't worry if you accidentally swallow a small piece, it will melt soon after reaching the stomack. No harm done. All of the best on your journey...

This is fine. Do you add any flavor to your shaved ice??

I love shaved ice too, but add a lime flavor to it. Amazing!!
