I just woke up and consumed, while not thinking about it, 22 oz of water in a relatively short time (20-30 min). No food yet though. Now I'm paranoid! Did I stretch my pouch? On the other side, wow I can't believe that at 1 wk post op I could drink so much so fast! Last week it took me half the afternoon for that!

Hello everyone! I am five months out and down 80 lbs- great news. I stalled for 3 weeks at exactly 200.0- I finally broke my plateau and am now at 198. My problem? I've become lax. I am sneaking Oreos and chocolates & junk food- and my calorie intake is too high! I need ideas on how to get back on track. Meal ideas, meal times, how many cal , carb grams, protein grams. What is realistic? What should my lifestyle look like? I feel like I'm going back to my old self & I need to stop!

Has anyone noticed that Greek yogurts just got smaller. They used to be 6oz with about 140 calories and 14 gm of protein. Just bought more since it is my go to breakfast. They are now 5.3oz and only 11 or 12 gm of protein. But of course the price didn't shrink any. Now I have to update myfitnesspal to reflect the change. Ugh.

Pizza is my absolute drug and every time I see it I want it so bad. I am only 6 weeks out and it is impossible for me to eat. I wanted to ask you vets if you eat pizza and at what stage? I'm hoping at maybe 6 months I can try it. But I'm afraid to be in pain.

Very early stages of electing for WLS. I have been reading that many people all together lost the urge for soda and booze. I love bourbon, will I have to forgo this for life? moderation? after losing weight can I get the little buzz from just a drink? I have come to the point where I need to give it up if I want to see my 3 year old and my unborn child grow up. Something that I do enjoy every morning (sometimes feels like a necessity) is my coffee to get me up and moving. how does caffeine affect the body after WLS? I have been looking forward to a real motivator to get me to stop most of these things that are generally unhealthy to begin with.

I am 8 day post op and I am going to a party this weekend that is similar to a potluck but more formal. Everyone brings a dish for a simi themed menu and you are told which part of the meal you are providing. I have the fish dish. I have been thinking about bringing a seafood dish made with clams, shrimp, crab, fish, fresh herbs, a tomato and chicken based stock, slice stewed tomatoes, with onions, garlic and zucchini to serve over freshly made Pasta and sprinkled with fresh basil and parmesan. This is so I can some of the broth as I am still on liquids. What do you think of that? Does anyone have any other ideas? What would you bring so that you had something to eat…

How do you eat soup?? I mean, really i know what to do, but how do you go about eating it? I had some homemade Italian wedding soup and ate my meatballs while sipping up the broth. I got in 3 little meatballs with about 1/3 c broth. Normally when I eat regular non soup items I fit in 1/4 c total if I'm lucky. Was I able to get in a little more because of the broth with the meatballs?

Hi! Last Saturday, at 4 weeks post surgery, I went out to Celebrate a dear friend's birthday at really great restaurant that I loved pre-surgery. I looked at all the appetizer and Soup options and none of them were what I wanted. (And since I eat so little, I only eat what I want that is high in protein). So, I asked the waiter if there was any way I could just get a couple of scallops-- I told him that I had recently had abdominal surgery and was restricted on what I could eat. Of course, he replied--I can get you an "add-on" of scallops. It was delicious-- three beautiful scallops with a sauce on the side. I ate two and gave one to a friend. The cost: $6. I had…

Still on 100% liquid diet being only 10 days post op ( have had sugar free popsicle) but still find it too hard to sit at the dinner table for supper with the family, I feel bad I can't eat what they're eating so it's best to stay away. Poor hubby I know he misses me there with them. Tell me it will get better over time...feeling left out.

I had an idea for the past couple years that I had Gluten Issues but I was trying to get everything else in my life on track and get my weight down. I have Diabetes (Insulin dependent), fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, RA, OA & Psoriatic arthritis and a few other issues. Well now 1 year after Gastric Sleeve surgery and 93lbs down I am having enough issues with the Gluten that my Dr says I need to go Gluten Free. Does anyone have any experience with these issues and have any words of wisdom you'd be willing to share? Also I know there are a butt load of sites out there that have GF recipes, but what im having issues finding are places to get GOOD & CORRECT informa…

So, I'm looking for an app to track my nutrition. I've had a look at MyFitnessPal, but I'm not pleased with the nutritional info. You can look at individual profiles for various nutrients, but not all of them, and not all of them all at once for a single day. I'd like something that I can look over in the evening to check if I've gotten all of my B12, omega3s, zinc, etc., and then decide based on that info what to have for dinner and whether to take additional supplements. Preferably, I'd also like something I can use both on my computer as well as on my phone or iPad. Any recommendations?

Can't seem to get much protein in yet. 6 days post op today. Everything is healing beautifully and I have lots of energy. I put a little unflavored in my soupy cream of wheat. Any other suggestions? Once I can eat meats and low fat cheese I hope to be rid of those damn protein shakes for good.

My hubby really wants Chinese food for dinner. I usually order the same few things which I'm positive I can't eat now. I'm wondering if anyone has a "go to" pick at a Chinese restaurant or avoids it altogether? I was thinking chicken with broccoli or something like that. I am currently not filled at all yet if that makes a difference. If worse comes to worse I will just order egg drop soup but hoping I can have something of more substance.

Today is week 2 since surgery. I finally got some Non-fat milk powder. After I added it to my coffee. I read the label. I know... Read first. There is 12 grams of sugar. Yikes! What is the max number of sugar grams per day? Per meal? I thought 10, but am not sure now since I see everywhere to add this to pudding and soup. Anybody know?

Hello Everyone, I recently had gastric bypass surgery (I'm going on my third week) and I'm having a really hard time drinking 2 liters of water and getting in my 60 grams of protein. I have a 7 month old baby and trying to take care of him I kind of forget about myself. Does anyone have any suggestions? Before surgery I loved drinking water...still do but the fact the I can't drink like I use to is making it harder. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

So....I finished C25K about a month ago. I am 4.5 months out from surgery and about 80lbs down. I am not quite running a full 5K yet...my loop is 2.7 miles and I have been running about a 14 min mile pace. BUT I feel like my energy level is keeping me from running further and faster. I have a LOT of restriction. I have typically been drinking a Protein shake before my runs as that's my normal Breakfast (just the powder and milk or Water...no fruit or anything). This morning I decided to try more carbs and so I are most of a small peeled apple with a small amount of dip made of PB2 and Fage 0% Greek yogert (about 1tsp PB2 and 2tsp Fage) It seemed to help quite a b…

This is the first topic I have started here, but I need some advice just to see how I am going to pursue this matter. I am 3 years VSG post op, and I still have the odd last 10 lbs to lose, but I am hanging in there. In the last 3 months I was diagnosed with depression, and I am now on medication; so after being in a roller coaster of eating constantly the first month of anti-depressants, going to normal eating the second month, now on the third month, the idea of eating anything causes me severe nausea. I force feed myself just so that I do eat something, and I cross my fingers that it stays down. I have regressed back to the first days of soft food diet where I …

I am almost 9 months out and my weight loss has been stalled for about a month. I'm about 20 lbs from my goal and have already lost 103 lbs. I have been staying between 600-800 calories a day but my nutritionist said to increase it to around 1000. That has been hard for me. For one I find it physically hard to get that much food in. Two I'm so afraid of eating that much for fear of gaining weight. I'm not sure what the right amount is. Any advice/suggestions are welcome!
