Does anyone eat pizza?

Pizza is my absolute drug and every time I see it I want it so bad. I am only 6 weeks out and it is impossible for me to eat. I wanted to ask you vets if you eat pizza and at what stage? I'm hoping at maybe 6 months I can try it. But I'm afraid to be in pain.

I am 5 months out - I have had pizza, but never a whole slice. I can't tolerate that much. Here's what I do instead of doughy pizza from a pizza shop - I take a Carb Balance Tortilla shell, top wit

  • Exactly. I don't treat ANYTHING as a "cheat". It's why I had wls in the first place - so I'd never have to "cheat" on a "diet" ever again. I occasionally will eat 1/4 of a homemade Boboli crust pizz

I'm going to go against the grain here and put a big huge question mark on the pizza. Yes, lots of folks find success with the "everything in moderation" approach, and if you're one of them, you have

I do, but only thin crust now. None of that wonderful, thick, stuffed crust....drooling now. Gosh I miss it!

Hope you all are satisfied. All this pizza stuff stuck in my eater-brain.

Today I had pizza. OK, one slice. OK....2 slices.....it was cut in half!!!

Oh yes, pineapple most certainly belongs on a pizza..

As do very hot chillies, peppers (capsicums), mushrooms, corn and onions...

Yes. Pineapple, tomatoes, and green olives. :)

And its encouraging to think that someday I will eat 'normal' food again! Im on pre op liquids right now so it seems very far away!

Never fear. Give it a few months post op and very little (generally personal taste/physical response is the only specifier), is off the menu.

Thats what makes making 'better choices' a pain in the bum!

It's a good thing I am nauseous from a stomach virus or I would be ordering a ham and pineapple pizza right now.

All at the same time?

Ugh.

I like spinach, onions, feta, green olives and artichokes on mine with an olive oil base, not tomato sauce.

Second runner up is bacon, onion, and hot peppers.

Corn?!?

It has its place from time to time.. Not all the time...

I like all of those ingredients.. But the first line (feta et al), I'd rather have them all in a fresh spinach salad with red onions, roasted capsicums and balsamic vinaigrette..

The second one.. Yeah, that'd work for me on a pizza.. <slurp>

food of the gods...

Corn with what other toppings? I can't even pretend to imagine.

I love a Greek pizza. I can't digest salads very well yet, so... That is a favorite of mine, though, with rare sliced steak on top.

Two Lakes Supper Club near Almond, WI makes the BEST shrimp pizza on a super thin crispy crust. Family owned and run since 1949. They close in the winter months and people put in their pizza orders by the dozens to stock in their freezers until they reopen in the spring. They also make a mean drunken chicken. Road trip anyone? http://www.hellotwolakes.com/history.html

I probably eat 6-8 slices per month, for me it was more then a year after my gastric bypass, but I had complications and went 180 days without food! Only protein shakes!
