I've just hit 5 weeks post op & cant seem to shake this stall for crap! Its been ongoing for about 2 weeks now & it's frustrating but I KNOW I'm not getting in the recommended Protein. Please suggest some protein brands & flavours you use to help get your goal in! I've tried the Syntrax nectar but only Fuzzy Navel & Carribean Cooler. Wasn't a fan of the former, but the latter is really good! I'm not looking for something with a weird after taste or anything like that. Bonus points if I can put it in Water (to make a protein rich "crystal light") or even if it's *truly* unflavoured. (Heard about GENEPRO but don't know much about them) Lay them on me! Sent …

I won't be having a baby in the next two years but it is a fear in the back of my mind. I would like to know how much those of you who had a baby after the surgery gained and wether it was too difficult to watch out for your cravings during pregnancy. How much did you gain?? At this point, I will starve myself to prevent myself from getting to the point where I was before. I know that is not the wisest thing to say but I will not let it happen again. My fear is that during pregnancy, preventing myself from keeping a healthy diet in fear of gaining massively, might hurt my baby. Which clearly no body wants... I am ranting..[emoji20]

I was at the supermarket today and found a sugar free be sauce. G.hughes is the name, no sugar, and only 2carbs. I bought a couple bottles of hickory & maple. I'm going to be starting purée and soft foods in two weeks and thought I would use this sauce with chicken a boneless ribs. In a crockpot, let the meats sit all day with the sauce them purée. Is this okay to do? I think it would be, but figured I'd check.

So I was sleeved on 2/15/17 and wasn't bad I used the pain pump twice. When I was released the next day we decided to stay near the hospital for another day or two. So that's when I went to lie down or get up I feel like I did 1000 push-ups and got kicked in the gut a few hundred times. Barely getting down the broth and water it's a bit discouraging. Then I had a low grade fever of 100.1 which seemed to go away with Tylenol. I have to inject Lovenox in my stomach to prevent blood clots. If anyone I know tells me I took the easy way out I might loose it. The site and smell of food gets me nausea. I read it gets better everyday [emoji120] Thanks in advance for any comment…

I would just like to say I've received an abundant amount of support that I truly treasure. The pain has been quite unbearable at times especially the further away from the anastesia I get. Hopefully I'll get to go home today. But no matter what happens or joke I feel, I am so happy I got this surgery.

I am Day 4 post surgery, this morning went great with being able to eat chocolate pudding. Then moved on to my protein shake...tummy started to cramp towards the end. Waited and drank, then moved on to a cream based soup, after a couple bites had to abandon the soup as a no go. Most recently replaced with cream of wheat. It was better, but ugh... still have one more protein shake, meal and liquid to go... Hope tomorrow is better...

I reached gw and a little below about 6 weeks ago; since then the scale doesn't move. I'd like to be 10 lbs below gw but my body doesn't seem to want to lose anymore. I've tried increasing protein and exercise and my carbs are around 30 a day. I feel like this is my new set point and am frustrated. Would love advice on losing stubborn lbs!

Hello all, Today is the 8th day of my post up and I've been put on pureed/soft foods. Here's the issue now... I've been ok, no nausea, no vomiting. I did something really bad. I actually cheated and ate a chicken sandwich. I ate very, very, very slow and in small bites. It hasn't caused any nausea or vomiting. My band has just been placed but there isn't any fills yet. What can I do???

Hey guys, just wanting to know if anyone from here is from Perth in Australia? Is there a particular group anyone chats in? I'm two months post surgery and it's going slow but well, however I'd love to chat with people in the same boat as me. My friends just don't get it and I'm feeling pretty lost. I'd love recommendations for someone who could coach/train me food wise (I'm so bored with food) and exercise NOR. I need someone who gets it all to help keep me encouraged and give some advice! Anyone had gallbladder issues? If so what does it feel like? I am having some pain on my right side just under my breast. It is like a dull ache at times. I will contact my doctor but I hope it is just gas or something simple because I have to fly to Germany 1st week of March for work for 3 weeks. Really don't want any issues while I am there!

I'm 2 months out from my RNY and I just realized today (after meeting with my NUT) that I've been taking my Calcium wrong!! I didn't realize a serving was TWO tablets, so I had been taking one at a time. I've unfortunately been getting in half the calcium I need, so I wonder if my calcium is low. I've been having horrible insomnia (a symptom of calcium deficiency) and I wonder if it could be related to this! My levels won't be checked until I'm 6 months out, so other than correcting the dose now, is there anything else I can do?

Hello, I saw my PCP yesterday for a routine check. I'm about 9 weeks post-op and won't have my first set of labs done with my surgeon until next month. Well, my PCP did a urine test and it shows that I have Protein, Calcium, bilirubin, and ketones in my urine. I'm not surprised by the ketones since I'm obviously eating a low carb diet so am in ketosis. I've never had any kidney issues before and my blood works shows I'm not dehydrated/electrolytes are fine. I've lost 50 pounds since I started my pre-op diet (so over the course of 10 weeks). I'm thrilled with the results so far but worried that the rapid weight loss has affected my kidneys. I messaged my surgeo…

I had my surgery on 3/12/09, and have felt great ever since, have lost about 25 pounds so far, but I am now experiencing some pretty severe lower back pain, I've had it for the last 3 days and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. Anyone else experience this after surgery? Could it have anything to do with the lapband?? I've never had issues with my back before so this is all new to me.

Last Friday at 12:30pm I had my vsg procedure. Everything went smooth. I was walking within 30 minutes, and sipping Water. I was released around 6pm. The first evening was a bit painful from the gas, and I slept in a recliner. I was able to sip on more water. Day 2 similar in gas pain. Gas X and walking helped a lot. I have no issues getting 60 - 70 oz of liquids. I primarily drink water, but like the sugar free Popsicles, Jello and broth. My only issue now is lower back pain. I have an appointment with my pcp today, so I will inquire with her. I have no issues with getting in Protein. Right now I'm using EAS shakes (vanilla & chocolate), and …

So I know that I'm not supposed to drink anything half an hour before, during, and half an hour after my meals. But do my protein shakes count as a meal in that sense? Is it important to wait the 30 minutes before and after drinking the shakes? Just plain premier protein shakes not blended with anything

So I drinks as often as I can during the Day, but may not be drinking enough Water. Just curious has anyone else had issues with dry skin on their face. Also I seem to have more fine lines near my chin. Not sure if its from the dry skin or weight loss. Just wondering if its going to clear up. Don't have another appt for a mth.. Any input would be great.

Hi guys! I'm new. I'm just a week post-op and I think all things considered, I'm doing pretty well! The thing I've noticed is by the afternoon every day, my belly above my navel becomes swollen and sore. This always reduces overnight and comes back. I was just wondering if that's okay and how long it will last Thanks!

Hi evèryone I was sleeved 12/15/15 and am still struggling with anxiety and depression. I know I had surgery to get healthier and have been losing weight. Hw217 sw207 cw172 height 5'3. Anyone else have those similar stats and how do you feel now? Sometimes I feel as though my BMI was not high enough for surgery even though I know I was obese. I'm struggling with the choice I made to have surgery and get so worried about long term complications that can arise. Anyone who is further out than me if you can offer me guidance to help ease my worries. What are the chances of developing a complication 3 months out from surgery should I still be worried? How to deal with my…

Its been 2 weeks since my Sleeve opt and i couldnt be happier! Im loosing weight well down over 10kgs already. Weigh in is tomorrow again. Yesterday something happened, i went to bend down normally (stupidly) and grab something off the floor and omg the pain that shot thru my lower abdomen was horrible. It went away but then it came back and it was really uncomfortable themajority of the arvo. I though it might have been my bowel as it hadn't moved in a few days, so i took a laxative. But its still hanging around alittle. Ive contacted my doctor to see if they can see me. But has anyone else had this?? Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

I was sleeved on 2/14. I found it interesting that they did not wake me before surgery luckily I weighed myself before going to the hospital and weighed in at 250 however when I was discharged yesterday I weighed myself at the hospital and wait in that 256. Is that normal? Did anyone else experience weight gain? When did you start to notice weight loss?

And ate four pieces of Valentines Day candy. And I am pissed. My stomach hurts and I wish I didn't do it. I am pmsing like a monster and I just really wanted them. I enjoyed every bite, but I am angry with myself now. But I'm over it and it won't happen again. My question is... I get that no one is perfect and we will make mistakes and slip up occasionally. How do you deal? Accept it and move on? Do I allow myself ONE piece of candy when the urge gets insane (for me, that only when I am pmsing) so I don't go crazy? I was sleeved 12/21/16
