I'm 17 days post op. I'm having issues with waking up before 11am/noon. It doesnt matter what time I fall asleep the night before, my body will not wake up. If i do manage to somehow wake up within 10 minutes i am asleep again. When I do wake up, I'm extremely weak and kind of disoriented. I have an appointment Monday with my doctor and I plan on telling him. However, does this get better over time?

Hi. Before I get any back lash from this question.. I know it's not good for you and I never tan more than 5 sessions or so to get a base tan which makes me feel a whole lot better about myself... . Any idea if you can tan 3 weeks post op? I will ask my surgeon when I see her next Monday but just curious if anyone has tanned. Amy☆☆☆

Good Morning all. I am almost 5 months post op (20 weeks). I have lost 69 pounds. But two weeks ago the weight just haulted. HAULTED. I have had stalls before (seemingly about every 3 weeks) but this one is sticking solidly. I have changed two things: 1) my husband and I joined the local gym three weeks ago. I am doing cardio and light weights (3X a week) with many reps (trying to get this body a little toned, and help with skin sags) and 2) I have noticed that my hunger has returned. I am consuming at least 1000 calories a day. Sticking to high Protein choices (yogurt, string cheese, HB egg, Protein Bar, etc) but the calories add up fast! So I am wonderi…

I'm a little over 4 months post op. I feel like I have to watch every bite I take and exercise for several hours a night to see weightloss. It's frustrating. I know of others that have had wls and are drinking beer and eating whatever and the weight keeps sliding off. Meanwhile I've been fighting with the same few lbs for weeks!

I am afraid to try new foods after tonight. Tomorrow I am on full liquids. I tried to make drinkable yogurt with Greek yogurt and Fairlife milk. I had about a tsp. of it and my tummy twisted and turned in an unhappy manner.

So I ran into a turnstile because I was distracted and forgot to swipe my metro card. I was rushing so I went full force into the bar and have had cramps all night and this morning a soreness. I am almost two months post op and was wondering if anyone has had any accidents after their surgery. I'm calling the dr when he opens but I wanted your input/experiences. SD 12/19/16

I don't have my surgery date yet or anything, but I have read on here that after surgery you are restricted to being able to pick up only 10 pounds for a while, sometimes even for a couple months for some. I don't drive and bring a cart on the bus to do my grocery and household shopping every month, sometimes I'm pulling over 100 pounds up a hill at a time. This includes things like cat food and kitty liter and having food not just for myself but to feed my son too. I have major anxiety issues so I try doing all the shopping for the month within a few days, so I don't have to be out in busy places so much. I'm wondering how long it took everyone until you can lift and pul…

Has anyone else's had feelings of emotional numbness after an op , mine being a VSG?.. Literally the day after my op I didn't feel right. No happiness although I know I'm happy but can't feel it?... Irritated lot and quick to get angry?.. I have spoken to my Gp , my dietician and my surgeon and it doesn't seem anyone can pin point it. I should feel excited about some things but can't!!.. no pleasure or that awesome feeling. It's annoying to say the least. I'm nearly 12 weeks post op and it's not getting better. It's not food related as I had it soooo early on. Something the anesthetic did maybe?? Anyone ??

So, I'm married, I've been married to my husband since October 2015, but I have been with him since 2008. I've not had the surgery yet, but this is something that bothers me about when I become post op. My husband understands and supports why i want and need the sleeve, but he says he really doesn't want me to have it, because he thinks i'm fine the way i am and he says he's afraid it will change me. I want it to change me, but not in a bad way. his stepmom had the bypass a few years ago and she ended up losing a lot of weight and cheating on his dad, but there were problems in that marriage before she had the surgery. I think he's afraid that I will feel good…

Hi Everyone - I am new to this site. Please bare with me if this question is redundent. I thought that I would fill up very easily after my surgery. I am still on a liquid diet but I can drink about 4 ounces at a time. I don't really feel full after drinking. Did anyone else experience that? Is that normal with liquids? When I move to soft foods will I feel full with 2 - 4 ounces? I am having making myself nervous that there is something wrong with my pouch. Thanks!

Hello Everyone, I was sleeved on 2/10/17. I'm down 10lbs, and have no issues getting liquids down. Between Water, crystal light and Powerade zero I easily drink 60 - 80oz per day and no issues with Protein. This part has been easy, almost too easy. Initially the gas pains were difficult, but I was able to manage. Walking certainly helped, and I had zero issues walking. I started with a block, now I can walk 5 blocks with no issues. Last night I started to feel discomfort in my lower back. I didn’t think twice, but today, it's so severe, that I'm thinking about calling my doctor. Has anyone else had this problem? Could it still be the gas?

I just wanted to share that I am able to reach my daily protein goals by eating ALL REAL FOOD! No more shakes for me! Once I was able to start eating chicken, that did it for me. I still have some shakes at home for when I may need them, but hopefully, I am past the shake phase, and I can just eat real food for good now! [emoji2]

Does anybody know, about how active I should be and/or what type of exercise I can do at this point? I had my surgery 1/30 so I'm 16 days post op. Before surgery I worked out regularly 3-5 times per week mostly cardio, and strength training once a week. And I did this mainly to control my stress and anxiety. I was told that I shouldn't go back to that routine for a minimum of 8 weeks. However, since not being able to work out, and being back to work now, a lot of my stress and anxiety is coming back but now I have no way to de-stress...

I'm 15 weeks post op this week! WOO HOO!! I've lost over 50 lbs so far. I had the VGS, Hiatal Hernia repair and Gallbladder removal. I was pretty weak post op and didn't really heal, get mobile, till 8 weeks. Food: This is a general look and the stuff I eat. I tend to eat the same things for years on end. I know it's weird. lol! I make everything at home and I use low fat, sugar substitutes and high protein whatevers I need to make the dishes. I put aside one day a week to do all my food prep. Usually Saturday or Sunday while I'm cleaning the house as well. I found that I have been far more successful when I make my own food and take the time to create really delicious…

First, I want to legitimately say that I have the utmost respect for everyone making these surgeries work for you! I don't know how you guys thrive and keep your lives and yourselves together! I'm 2 months out from my RNY and I'm ready to have a major break down. (If I'm not already having one). I have so much worry and anxiety that I can't sleep. Actually sleep is the problem. I stay awake for what feels like 20 hours a day yet getting my fluids and my Vitamins in every day is still very difficult. I have no idea how I'm going to get a job and manage to get everything accomplished in much less time than I have now. I think I'm too anxious/afraid to sleep because I fee…

Hi everyone, This will probably be another one of those "omg i had surgery for nothing" anxiety posts-- just a heads up. I am 2 weeks post sleeve. Been hitting my 70oz Fluid and 70gram Protein daily goals. Been averaging around 500-700 cals per day. I was initially losing 0.5 to 1 lb per day for the first 10 days or so post op. Then all of a sudden i stopped. Been on a 4-5 day stall. I guess i was expecting the stall to come in the 3rd week, not so early. I also know i shouldnt weigh daily, but thats a separate mental issue i havent addressed yet lol Anyone else stall so early?

I am just curious how some of you are eating 12 weeks. Just curious if others are going by ounces or like by a cup? My dietician says you should only be able to eat 3/4 cup of food per meal at 12 weeks. I have other people that are sleeved like me that are eating more than that and still losing. Some are weighing there food. Just want some opinions on how other people are handling it. I just don't want to stretch anything out. So confused

Just keep pushing! There will be days where you will think this was not worth it. Look through your old pics and remember how you felt at the time. I know during this time of my life, I was at my biggest, very depressed, and completely heartbroken. This surgery has been a great tool the kick started all the changes in my life. I will forever stay humble. Weeks out: 24 SW: 371 CW: 240 WL: 131lbs

I forgot to ask during my pre-op appointment and my surgery is next Wednesday. I'm Catholic, and I'll be attending services the Sunday following services. I'll still be on a full liquid diet, also I can't receive the host, but what about after? It's not even something I thought about until my dad asked.. Anyone have any experience with this? LOL It feels like a silly question but I'm still curious.

I am about 4 weeks post op. Prior to the surgery I had GERD pretty bad and it manifested as a cough. I still have this post op. I am taking Omeprazole twice daily. My surgeon added carafate but I don't know if I want to take it. Anyone have a similar experience. I don't want an ulcer but I am not sure if the carafate will help.
