Coughing like with GERD after eating

I am about 4 weeks post op. Prior to the surgery I had GERD pretty bad and it manifested as a cough. I still have this post op. I am taking Omeprazole twice daily. My surgeon added carafate but I don't know if I want to take it. Anyone have a similar experience. I don't want an ulcer but I am not sure if the carafate will help.

im not familiar with carafate but not sure why you don't think it will help. have you taken it in the past. guess you wont know for sure until you try it. since you are only 4 weeks out you may be able to get relief in time once the swelling goes away and the healing is completed wish you the best of luck since gerd is no fun.
