8 Days Post Op and Pain less but still pretty significant

Is it okay to still be having pretty good pain after 8 days? I'm still needing pain meds in the evenings. I thought the pain would be waaay better by now? Dr. says this is normal.

While I would go with your doctors advice, I am seven days out and have no pain at all. I haven't taken pain meds since day four. I do hope you feel better soon.

pgadd56 I saved my pain meds for night time relief if needed. I am in week three post-op. I still feel pain but not as strong for the pain meds.

I am 9 days post op. Stopped all pain meds day 4 post op. However there is still some light pain especially around the incision area but nothing unbearable. Go by your Surgeon's advice

I had severe pain for 3 weeks and had to take pain meds all day. You are not alone.
