So I just recently started going to the gym everyday trying to tone my abs now, but I still do an hour of cardio everyday. Before in my early months after the surgery I worked out at home doing the treadmill and various exercise videos. So now I've noticed that my appetite has increased. Like I want to eat more now although my stomach cannot hold that much lol is this because of the working out? Is it just my metabolism? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using VST

I don`t know what it is about winter, but every year I go through the same thing. As soon as the cold weather hits my exercise routine goes in the dumps. So I've decided to get an exercise machine for home, so on those cold days when I don't feel like braving the cold (everyday lately) I can still get my workout in. Wish me luck!

Hi all. I am post op (11/19) and just joined a gym (24 Hour Fitness). I cannot afford a trainer so I was wondering if anyone can tell me their workout plan or routine? So far I have been doing treadmill for 20 minutes and then I go to different weight machines to work my muscles. I swim for an hour and a half twice a week replacing the workout above. I am obviously looking to lose but also tone. Any advice??? Thank you. Kacey B.

I want to sign up for this spin/plates community exercise class...but I'm nervous I'm 3 months out and have lost around 50lbs, but all I have been doing is walking. Will this class kick my butt, is it not the right choice to get started real exercise with? And my friend wants to do it with me and she is in much better shape than me so I don't want to look like a fool....

I have not lost any weight for over a year, my body settling out where it should be, and wants to be, weight wise.....YET within that year I have dropped 2 more clothing sizes!!! My last visit to my surgeon, after I got on the scale, he was looking at my chart ans was "puzzled" He asked a few routine questions, and when we got onto my exercising routine, he then brightened up and said "That Explains Everything" People say all the time how they loose weight with little or no exercise, but believe me....you have no idea what a additional change it will make!

I have been doing yoga for a long time, but to accomidate my body/energy level (knees, etc) I was doing generally a low-key flow that focused on breathing (well ok they all do that) and keeping flexible. I started a 40-day kick off program to the Baptiste Vinyassa Hot Flow here at Big Yoga. It is kicking my butt! lol Each week we have so many classes, home classes, and reading/studying through the guidelines he encourages you follow (not Hindu-based guru mumbo jumbo - no offense to many but that just feels like baubles and gold speckle paint to me). So we progress through very grounded, wholistic (not whole silly) lessons and practice, practice, practice...while being…

Has anyone tried this out. I have faithfully been doing the elliptical 4-5 times a week and Zumba or just dance 3 1-2 times a week. One of the nurses at work told me try this out. I am on day two and holy crap!!!! I thought I had built up some endurance and strength but after doing this I quickly realized I didn't!!

I'm almost 6months post RnY and have gone from 150kg down to just over 102kg. I've returned to the Middle East as a contractor for a civilian firm working for NATO and as such have access to world class fitness facilities here at Kandahar Airfield in Afghanistan. I'm using a fitbit along with myfitnesspal to monitor my levels as well as my dietary intake which I'm doing great with. I'm keeping up with my protein levels as recommended by MFP base on my activities levels but has anyone used anything for recovery after their workouts? Creatine? Some other post workout product? I'm doing about 3hr daily sessions with the majority of the time being cardio such as running a …

I'm not due to have surgery until April (no exact date yet), but I just tried out a new cardio kickboxing place by me. I went Saturday and then again last night. I'd like to join, but I'm not sure if it's a good form of exercise post-surgery. I mean, it totally kicked my butt the two times I went and I was ridiculously sore (especially in my abs) afterward. It would be great for the cardio part of the workout, but I'm not sure if it will be as great for the muscle, loose skin part. There's no weight lifting involved. Another issue I worry about is drinking Water while exercising (and this would go for any kind of exercising, I guess). Right now when I excersize, I…

I don't know if anyone has ever brought this up, but I'm wondering if I choose not to exercise if that will be bad? I look at it this way,........I have never exercised. After I lose weight, I will probably not exercise again. So, my thought is, why exercise now if I know that I will not continue the habit? Just a thought. Just let the weight come off slower.

So I just had to share this. My sons recently got an Xbox360, with this "game" called Dance Central 3. they got it home an started to play an convinced me to dance with them. Well... I love it!! I have absolutely 2 left feet. I have tried aerobics, zumba an such but never could master the steps an always felt uncomfortable in front of others. But with DC3 i love working out 4different levels tons of songs an I do it in the privacy of my own home. I think this is one that i can stick with.

Has anyone passed out after exercising? I walked for 50 minutes, went about three miles. Came home, cooled down and ate lunch. Then I took a shower where I got so dizzy I sat down once and fell once. I have a giant welt from hitting the faucet. I made it out of the shower and stumbled to lay down in bed where I passed out for an hour. Is this totally weird? I posted this in the Nov 2012 postop thread too.

Hey Guys: Eight weeks out on Tuesday and sI tarted using the treadmill last week. Good news, my hubby is doing it with me, and that motivates me to do it. Bad news, I am having a really hard time with it. It's hard for me to even get myself to do it because I remember how hard it was the last time. Right now we are doing one mile, 5 days a week. I have an incline of 3, and I walk for 4 minutes at 2.2, and run for a minute at 3.0 My heart rate gets to over 150, but by the time I'm halfway through (takes me 27 minutes to complete the mile with the walk-run intervals), I'm feeling like a 90 year old woman! I'm really embarrassed, as I know the speed is so slow to begin wit…

Just a question for those of you post-band... I've never seen or felt a port, so I don't now how obvious or accessible it is... Does the port get in the way of doing contact sports? In the past, I used to do a form of wrestling (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) and I'd love to be able to do it again, but the thought of having a port that's near the skin and then having some dude with all his weight on my belly creating pressure and friction just makes me thing UGH! Would that sort of situation bother the port? Will I be able to do BJJ again or should I just stick to non-contact old-lady sports? Rebecca

Hi all! I am bored with my current workout playlist and am looking for some new tunes. What are some of your favorite songs to workout to? I'm not picky. I like everything but I find that country is a little hard to listen to while working out.

I'm working towards 6 out of 7 days with a workout. Saturdays long run, Sunday hike/snowshoe with pack, then two runs during the week and a couple other random gym activities (bike and elliptical this week) Guess what? I'm sore! In various large muscle groups . Kind of sucks. But also a badge of honor.

So I am a horseback riding enthusiest. I ride at least a couple times a week. Since surgry I have only ridden one time and it's killing me. I was wondering if i can get back into seriously riding again. Friday marks the start of my fourth week since surgery. I started running this week and I have had no pain what so ever, also when I rode that one time I wasn't bothered at all. My biggest concern is that if something happens I could tear the stitches on my abs. I have an opportunity to ride some horses for a lady in return for free lessons and I would love to take her up on that offer! It's be 3 days a week and a lesson. It's such a good work out too! I'm so ready to be…

It's 4:30 am, having my 2nd cup of coffee....along with my Vitamins, Omega's,......I'll have 15g of pure liquid Protein then off to the gym at 5am...... Run 5 miles, maybe some weights, (not every time) sauna 30 minutes, then shower, fresh clothes. Will also drink 32oz of Water during all this.... I will have my 30g Protein shake there, (they have a juice bar) which is also my Breakfast, then head off to work.... This is my routine 5 days per week, weekends included.......I've been doing this for over a year now, and when I miss a planned day, I feel like depressed and like crap...... I am an addicted gym rat!!

I talked my daughter into some High Intensity Interval Training running this morning. We warmed up a bit and then ran like crazy up the hill by my house. 20 seconds running full tilt, 10 seconds walking which makes a cycle, 8 cycles to a workout. My daughter who is over 20 years younger was shot at the top of the hill and walked the rest of the way. I did my 8 cycles and recovered very quickly. If it weren't for my leg muscles hurting I could have done 8 more cycles. My wind was amazing! I guess losing 100 pounds makes a big difference. I feel like I did when I was a lad and never wanted to walk when I could run. What a great pleasure it is! I'll be 64 this month.

im thinking of buying a new wii system because i gave my old one away. (hardly used it) I am seeing there are great work out games such as wii fit and zumba and just dance. I am wondering if this would be a good workout. I would do them for a half hour to an hour everyday, 5 to 6 days a week. Please let me know if getting the wii again is a good choice!
