I'm thinking about getting a treadmill. I dunno. I had one a few years ago though and ended up selling it. I'm trying to think of something I'll actually stick to. I'm an introvert with self esteem issues so at least until I lose like 60 lbs, you're not gonna see me in a gym. I like walking until it gets super hot.

I have been running about 45 minutes 2x a week and doing weight lifting 3x a week for about 30 minutes in each session. Been doing this for the past couple weeks or so. The problem is I have been getting really tired in the afternoon, sleepy in fact where I cannot keep my eyes open. Last night, it hit me around 4:30 pm and struggled with it until going to bed at 8:30 pm ( early for me). I woke up at 3am and felt much better. This morning I feel pretty good with energy levels at decent levels. Am i working out too often or am I lacking in calories throughout the day? I am probably still eating around 800-900 calories a day, mostly Protein. Carbs are under 30. Low f…

I recently found an iPad app called "See Me Get Fit" (not sure if it is also available for iPhone). Basically, you enter your weight then you take a picture so that you can visually track your weight loss. Perhaps best of all, you can password protect the app so that only you can access it. I'm really looking forward to seeing my progress on it and I thought it was cool enough to share.

How would that work? Can you build muscle after the sleeve? I mean, isnt it impossible to gain muscle at a caloric deficit? I'd rather not be "skinny" (though would MUCH prefer skinny over fat), but I truely like lifting, and would like to gain some muscle after I get sleeved. I'm not looking to look like the guys on the cover of bodybuilder mags, but I would like to have some mass and be somewhat cut. Is this possible? Or is being fat, then sleeved, then muscular not in the cards? TIA

Does anyone have any experience with body shapers ? Waste of money ? I have been losing weight and started boxing here recently and someone at my job mentioned I should get one of those belly slimming bands (the ones that make u sweat so u lose water weight ) she is thin so I don't think she understands that in my opinion the belly slmer will just roll down on me ...I have been interested in spanx but they are so expensive ... Is it even necessary to wear shape wear at this pint ?? I'm less than 6months out and have lost 60lbs ... I will be at 6months on November 25th ...thanks for y'all's input )

I am 4 months post op. Before the surgery I walk everyday but now I can't get myself up to go walking. Money is tight so a gym membership is out of the question. I'm trying to get my motivation back to go out there and start walking again. Just joining My Fitness Pal and hopefully that will help motivate me. Please look for me at n32382.

Hi everyone! I hope you all are doing well. Here's my problem! Since my first appointment with my nutritionist, I have been walking 30 minutes a day. Now that I've had my surgery, I'm feeling like I should up my exercise, but I'm really dragging my feet on that. I'd love to hear ways that you guys motivate yourselves to get your heart rate up. I just feel a little overwhelmed when it comes to really exercising.

I ran my first 5k today in 28 minutes. I was not planning to run much at all and just wanted to see how my feet, knees and ankles would do on the treadmill I have at home. Up until today, I have been using my elliptical for the last few months, since being cleared for exercise other than walking. I started it out at 4.5 mph and slowly increased it up to 6 mph by about 5 minutes, after the warmup jog. I kept a constant gait and was not huffing and puffing at all, I could carry on a conversation with someone. I really started to feel the burn at around 25 minutes, but kept push myself. In order to prevent injury and preserve energy, I tried to relax my body as much as po…

This past weekend I did my first 5K run/walk. i I NEVER thought I would EVER get this body to jog. December 11 will mark my 9 month anniversary from surgery and I am down 82 pounds. The best part about the 5K was a group of friends cheering me on at the finish line.

I finally got a XBox Kinect last week and I'm in love (upgrade from a Wii). I've been doing the Your Shape game every morning before work this week and boy is it intense. So I see that you can connect to XBox Live and compete with friends. Anyone else have this game and want to compete? I also have Zumba Core and Hip Hop Experience. Love them both!

For the past two weeks the Girls have hurt like hell everytime I went running or played sports. It's not that time of the month and I haven't been able to explain the tenderness. And then today it dawned on me....I'm losing weight, the Girls are shrinking, and my poor sports bras just aren't cutting it anymore! So here's to the Girls and realizing they need some support in this weight loss process too!

I had surgery October 1 and since 1 week postop have not walked or done any form of exercise. I could make up plenty of excuses( I have moved, work 60 Hr weeks, -b12 levels low) but anyways I'm not here to make excuses or be judged. I don't want to waste this opportunity I have been given. Where should I start? How much? How often?

Hey peeps! Anyone try this class??? My park district gym offers it and it looks good. I'm thinking if I can do it twice a week it can make up for me not doing my personal trainer. I plan to pair it with Zumba twice a week plus a possible Water aerobics class as well. Anyway...anyone try it? Is it really difficult? I don't mind being pushed but weight lifting is not a strength for me. Thanks!!

For 20 years I have dreamed of being fit and healthy enough to participate in the Great Victorian Bike Ride, an eight day ride of almost 600km in my home state of Victoria. This year, 18 months after getting my lapband and losing 63kg, my husband and I set off from Lakes Entrance on our first ever Great Vic. First two days of riding were fantastic. The whole event was living up to my expectations with the riding, the camaraderie, camping and spending time with my husband. Day three dawned bright and sunny and we were on the road nice and early out of Briagalong. Morning tea stop in our former town of Maffra and then two and a half km down the road, disaster struck! I …
