  5. My surgery is June 25th also. I feel nervous and scared just like you. It is a big change and big responsibility to have lap band surgery but I am hoping a big reward too. Hang in there and know it will be alright.
  6. I have my surgery June 25 and currently on the dreaded preop diet. I already feel isolated from friends and haven't even had surgery yet! My roommate won't eat around me and I am not invited for drinks or socializing. This is what I feared would happen but so soon? I feel like the fat kid all over again that no one wants to pick on the team. It feels bad and I really don't know what to do about it. Has this happened to anyone else??
  7. What is the best thing to eat post workout?
  8. My surgery is June 25. I am on week 2 of the preop diet...ugh sick of the protein shakes. I had headaches the first few days but not from caffeine withdrawal I think it was from carb withdrawal! Good luck late June bandsters!

  11. I live in Missoula Montana getting surgery June 25
  12. I am still processing the fact that I will be having surgery in less than a month, June 25th is quickly approaching. This is a huge life decision to be made and one I am glad I am embarking on. I am having the surgery for health facts more than losing the weight but I will enjoy doing both. Just not sure how I will feel at a smaller size...I have been big all my life and now the possibility of weighing 130 lbs instead of 225 is sinking in. How has everyone who has lost the weight or close to goal dealt emotionally to losing it? Just thinking about the bigger picture and coming to terms with the life changes ahead of me.

Congratulations on the decision to be positive! I agree with you...I am not telling everyone about my surgery just those closest to me. I intend to tell them I exercise and eat right...should they ask. It will be the truth too. I am glad you are going forward despite having a big family event afterwards...good luck to you!
  14. I met with the surgeon, nutritionist and had my psychological evaluation all in the same day...yesterday! My surgery is set for June 25 first thing in the morning. I am glad they made the most of my trip which is 3 hours away one way. I feel a bit overwhelmed about the food situation after surgery right now. Wondering if I can curb my bad habit of guzzling water and eating too fast. Questioning if I can even get 64 oz of liquid in me by sipping all day...it seems impossible at this point. I am happy about the surgery but I am a little scared about the drastic changes regarding my consumption of food..like eating protein kind of scares me at this point. Any words of advice or encouragement would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for reading.
