So i'm about 3 months post-op from my rny and it has been the most rewarding yet challenging period of my life so far. Something i'm really struggling with recently is what i have heard called 'sliming.' The only way i can describe this is intense chest pain and over-salivation after i eat, which becomes so painful/uncomfortable i ultimately throw up. Anyone know what could lead to this other than the speed at which i eat?? I've tried slowing down and continue to separate my food and beverage but it feels like every other meal i still find myself getting sick. how long does this period of 'sliming' last?! i'm seriously struggling with this!!!! Hi everyone, I'm new here and I hope I'm posting on the correct board. I had RNY on April 19 of this year. So far, I've lost 62 pounds; yay! I need help with my Vitamins. I'm so confused and trying to come up with a regime that doesn't tie me down. Any advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm currently taking a Metagenics multi with Iron, mchc Calcium, Journey hair balance, and a Metagenics probiotic in the morning. Not sure if the mchc calcium is better than calcium citrate. And the multi that I'm taking is a pill, not a chewable or capsule. Any recommendations? What works for you; I know many of you have been doing this for years and are pros. Thanks so…

Hi - I've had some intermittent pain in the middle of my torso - a third of the way in - right underneath my ribs. Never horrible but enough for me to notice. I'm 3 wks removed from my surgery. I've been 85 - 90% compliant with my meal plan. I do not overeat and chew everything to a pulp. Worst mess up was a cookie. Anyone out there experience similar issues (and please don't get self-righteous with me ). Thanks!

I had gastric bypass surgery 12 years ago. I have had great success on weight loss. My issue is that I have absolutely no energy after all these years of losing the weight I just feel very depleted. I take a prenatal Vitamin faithfully every day of my life, back when I had the surgery that's what I was told to do. I have been looking for a good vitamin regimen and would welcome any suggestions or advice. Sent from my SM-N900V using the BariatricPal App

I'm close to one year out from RNY and the past few months, I've been feeling really tired and lightheaded. I kept brushing it off and thinking it was something else, like I had a touch of a cold or needed to double down on Protein. At my six-month visit with my bariatric clinic, they did bloodwork and my Iron saturation was low (10 percent). Right after I got the results, I messaged them through their patient portal and the fill-in nurse acted unconcerned and blew me off. My PCP recommended I start taking iron supplements (my surgeon told me to stop taking them two weeks after surgery because they were upsetting my stomach). I called my nutritionist and was at least ab…

I have removal of band and bypass surgery scheduled for 10/10, I've come down with some mild asthma obviously caused by an underlying virus which has also caused some post nasal drip and I feel a touch chesty and gunky! Everything else is fine, no blocked nose, temp, etc and the hospital said they can give me things to tame the Asthma but I'm worried my chest won't be clear enough for surgery.

They didn't start until 1:30 pm and the surgery ended up going a bit longer than expected due to my band being completely encapsulated in scar tissue and the need to repair a hiatal hernia. I finally made it to my room at 8:30pm So for me , It was a day of sleep .... Saturday was not bad , they had me a schedule for pain meds and trust me while you are in the hospital stay on it ! I was up in my chair as soon as I could in the morning and went for a walk as soon as I could. Trust me…

I had my bypass surgery July 13. Ive already lost 47 lbs!! I am following the plan super faithfully. So I bought a cool cookbook for post-wls people. The author has a great first chapter that really summarizes well what to expect, how it all works, etc. She has been a bariatric dietician for years. She mentions the "honeymoon" period in her book stating that it lasts anywhere from 8 months to 2-3 years. She also states that one lady she knew has never stopped her honeymoon phase and she's in year 5. My question is "Is the honeymoon phase truly something to be concerned with if you're following the plan and losing weight like you're supposed to?"

I don't even like myself when I'm this way [emoji107]???? I am almost 8 months post op and will be 49 yrs old in a little over a month. Another thing I have considered the culprit....I was able to stop taking my blood pressure medication about 10 days ago....withdrawals? Anyway...it's no fun [emoji107]????

I lost about 126lb after giving it my all, exercise became my friend and I was absolutely loving life. However, I always had trouble with the band. I hated the unpredictability of it - some days I was fine, others I could be throwing up multiple times a day. To cut a long story short, I am having a band to bypass revision at the beginning of November (after putting on nearly 5 stone). Am very excited! However, I'm sitting here feeling pretty disgusting after eating a family size bar of chocolate. I want to say that's the on…

I have always been an emotional eater, it was passed down to me from my mother and to her by her mother and so on, it is how I learned to "cope." Two days before I started my liquid diet, my husband attempted suicide and we had to have him enter a therapy program. I wasn't sure if I should go through with surgery following such a traumatic event, but everyone (including my husband) encouraged me that I should go through with it, that I had come too close and they would provide as much help and support as possible, so I did. I ended up moving in with my parents so that we could work on ourselves separately and so they could help me with my son and recovery. I had the su…

Then it started going down as expected. Today I started protein shakes and I am in severe pain. I am still very bloated and uncomfortable. I feel very cold. But I don't have a fever.

  38. Hello. I had by RNY on Aug 26, 2015, and I weighed 31 preop. I currently weigh between 195 and 198 and have been stuck here for about 6 weeks. I lost fairly slowly, but now I am scared that it is over. I never really had a plateau until now. I eat mainly low carb and high Protein. Lately I have been eating Peanut Butter, which may be my problem. I have also just started walking on a treadmill daily, I did not really exercise much before. Will I continue to lose for a couple more months, or is this kind of it for me/ Thank you so much!

I really thought today was the day and I jumped on the scales only to find I'm 100.0kg.
