2 days post op and too sweet clear liquids

I am still in the hospital at 2 days RNY post op and I just started clear liquids today. The warm high Protein chicken broth is lovely and soothing but the Jello and apple juice they have been serving me is way too sweet. I saw that is a pretty common reaction. What should I eat?? Thinking about asking them to take the sweet stuff off and just give me more broth.

I also felt like everything tasted way too sweet after surgery. The broth was much better and ended up being my go-to during the clear liquid stage. I used a variety of chicken/beef/vegetable broth to get through that stage. Even eight months later the taste of anything sweet makes me feel icky. It's like my taste buds changed and what would have previously been a pleasant sweet taste now seems sickly sweet.

Hello.

I also feel the same. I am 8 month post op and I can't tolerate sweets. I would tell them to give you more broth or whatever you can tolerate. I use to love sugar and sweets . Now can't even look at it. Lol
