@ anaxila I just joined the group. ..haven't received my surgery date yet...I was updated that My insurance said it is still under review...also, I will be having my surgery at Froedtart hopefully this month. Have you been schedule?

Sorry, forgot to check in to this board for a while! Yes, I was scheduled and had my surgery on 1/6 at Froedtert with Dr. Wallace. Everything went textbook-perfect and my recovery has been smooth. I weathered my first stall (8 days!) without tearing all of my hair out, and have lost 40 pounds since Christmas. I am still out of work, but going back on Monday.

How's everyone else doing?

I received my surgery date of Feb. 24th of Feb. My Doctor, Dr. Wallace at Froedtert is in Peru and will return at the end of Jan. I I am super excited.

Congratulations! I've always thought Dr. Wallace is kind scary (he's soooooo serious and I'm such a goofball), but I've really warmed to him. I think his work in Peru is amazing - he did 28 surgeries in 4 days, plus setting up all sorts of new equipment and working with the locals. I guess that's neither here nor there, but I think he's an excellent surgeon and am very pleased to have had him do my surgery.

Do you go to the support group? I have only been once, but it's a good use of my time and I've already made good connections with other patients. Hope to see you there next month!

How long did it take for you to lose your first 50lbs?

How long did it take for you to recover to where you were able to continue an exercise regimen?

I haven't lost 50 yet; I'm at 40 today. I was 305 on 12/23 when I started pre-op diet, was 292 at surgery on 1/6, and 265 today.

I hit the gym for the first time 7 days after surgery. I was only able to go for 30 minutes that day, but was up to 60 minutes the next day. I work out 6 days a week for 60 minutes. This may dip for a bit when I return to work on Monday, as the exercising takes a lot out of me. But I figure that as long as I'm off work I may as well push it. I love how good it feels already.

Is there anyone out there that goes to the YMCA, I'm trying to find someone to go walking or even ride the bike, machines with!!

Sorry, I don't. But I will hijack your thread and make a similar call for a workout buddy. ;-) If anyone out there is a WAC member and wants a workout buddy, let me know!

Hey starting new, there is a meeting tonight 6/22/15 @ 6:00 I'm going. And as far as the YMCA I haven't been going since right now they are trying to find out if I have MS!!! So if and when I do go I'll let you know.

I am from northern WI, (Odanah) up by Lake Superior. I am scheduled for July 17 @ St. Mary's in Rochester, MN. Doc Kellog is a Mayo doc, he just likes to practice at the other hospital. I will be looking for support soon, I expect.

Hey, I was there at the support group meeting. We need to come up with a signal to recognize each other at these!

My name is Shirley. Kathy calls me ms. Murphy, lol just ask her where I am. I usually sit in the front row. I have glasses and almost always have my hair pulled back in a Scrunchie. Are you on Facebook??

Having VSG end of august(date to be scheduled this week-just got insurance approval) per Dr. Wallace at Froedtert. He scared the crap out of me also the first visit...

Hey again everyone,

Again the next meeting at Froedert hospital is on Monday 7/27/15 at 6:00pm. It would be nice to see everyone there. If anyone is going please let me know it will be nice to meet up!!!

Dr. Wallace did my surgery, very good Dr. He kinda scared me a little bit when I first met him also, but omg that is so not him he is just the opposite. So don't worry all is good.
