Have y'all tried these? I get them at Kroger Marketplace. They make them fresh in the Deli. Kim's Magic Pop is available in plain, onion, strawberry, cinnamon. I eat them with spreadable cheeses like laughing cow or peanut butter when I need a little crunch. Way better than rice cakes cause they are made from wheat & brown rice. 15 calories, 25 sodium & only 3 carbs!!

I often don't have time to prepare meals, so something quick and easy is what I'm looking for. Do any of you have suggestions for food that I can prepare in advance and freeze? Something that would be easy to divide into individual portions to be microwaved later? Of course, it would be nice if it were high in protein and low in calories.

I'm in a serious funk that I just cant seem to get out of. I'd have to say it started about 5 days ago, and the only thing I can think that I've been doing differently is having a Protein bar every day/other day since then. I guess I'm gonna cut them out completely and see if it goes away. I do get this way almost every summer but I always thought it was all the sugar I used to consume, and other crap mixed with being so fat I didn't want to be seen in public, PLUS not being active at all. this year all those things are different. I'm really sad because I can't find my workout mojo. the only thing I want to do (crave like mad) is cardio, and I want to strength tra…

I know that grits aren't as popular in other parts of the country as they are down here in the south, but let me just say that they are my new best friend...at least for this last week of full liquids! I made some pretty thinned out grits tonight with a half slice of deli deluxe American cheese and a dash of garlic salt and boy were they scrumdiliumtious!!! All 6 bites that I was able to eat that is....they really hit the spot! So even if your not normally a Girl Raised In The South kinda person, you ought to give them a whirl!!!

I thought it might be a good idea to start an ongoing thread on favorite Protein powders and rtd products to help others find one they like. At least they will be picking from among what others have called "the best". I will start. My favorite morning whey is muscle milk light cake batter. Love the flavor. Second favorite morning whey is Matrix Cookies and creme (if i am out f my beloved cake batter). My favorite post workout shake is amplified Wheybolic 60 cookies and creme from GNC. I would be open to a better post workout shake if you have one. No real complaints about his one; I just know there is something better though. My favorite bedtime Protein Shake is Good…

A couple of weeks ago, I started eating better. At the advice of my NUT, I started drinking at least 64 oz. Water every day, upped my Protein, decreased the carbs, and.....well....I had to give up caffeine and carbonated drinks also. I have lost a little bit of weight and in general I feel much better because I'm eating better, but DAMN, I hate giving up my caffeine. I am a die-hard Dunkin' Donuts gal. When I first started out, I gave up the Diet Pepsi, DD iced coffees, and reduced my morning coffee from 2 cups to one. Today is the end of the Caffeine Trail for me. I usually work 7-3 or 8-4 and drink a shake in the morning and by the time we get back around 12 I drink another shake or whatever I eat and right after I get sick. This only happens on these two days. I'm thinking its because I'm so hungry and by the time I eat again I'm getting sick. I have no clue. Anyone else with this problem.

Hey fellow diabetics, I have been diabetic since 1995. Before surgery I was on heavy insulin and oral meds. Since surgery I take nothing. My sugars are always normal and I'm sooooooo happy about that. My last A1C was 9.0 and I can't wait to see what it's going to be in July. My problem is I'm so confused on how many carbs to eat now. It has been drilled in my head to not eat more than 40 carbs a day, but my docs guidelines look like much more. I was never sent to a nutritionist and I realize this handicaps me in this area. I had the low carb diet down to a tee. I lost 100 lbs in 2004 and went off 2005 and gained all my weight back. I haven't been able to lose low carb…

So I'm doing low carb high protein like most folks on here. My question is when you are doing low carb do you count total carbs or net carbs? I know that when you count the fiber the net carbs are lower. Before surgery I was a big fiber eater but now I don't get many carbs therefore not much in the form of fiber. I try to make sure that if I am getting carbs that they have some fiber in them as well. I don't eat bread or pasta. I have found that carb balance whole wheat tortillias are pretty good (13 carbs, 10 gm fiber = 3 net carbs). Most of my carbs come from those tortillias (I don't eat more than one a day) and fruits (minimal) and veggies. Just wondering how …

Yeah - I know: You would rather read about alcohol. The questions: 1. My wife recently got us some diet soda stream concentrate to mix with Water. Are these same, better or worse then drinking water with a typical enhancer like Dasani, Mio, crystal light, etc. no aspartame in these and I am primarily thinking about the non soda flavors pink grape fruit or watermelon. We got them primarily to save on the cost of buying Dasani water enhancers all the time. 2. We picked up some Isopure RTD bottles last night. Awesome that they have 40 g 100% whey isolate. Would these make a good Meal Replacement option? I am wondering because of the optimal amount of Protein in them…
