Hi , am a new member and it has been 3 months since my surgery I lost almost 52 Ib , I was doing really okay but recently I got some personal problems that affected my appetite and i wasn't really paying attention and mainly drinking more than eating and since then when i actually started eating I have been vomiting more often than the usual I believe it's a matter of constancy , I was wondering if anyone can tell me what are the best thing to eat that will not make me vomit and can give me the nutritions and Vitamin needed. As my body is really affected from lack of nutritions . Thanks

Ok... so I was cleaning out my files and found some of the ridiculous diets I've done in the past. For fun, let's list all the fad diets we've tried in past (of which some did work, but we gained all the weight back as soon as we were off of it). Wow, can't believe I actually thought some of these were good ideas:) These don't even count the popular ones like HCG, Atkins, South Beach, etc. Here goes: Grapefruit diet Miracle Soup diet (i.e. cabbage soup diet) Sacret Heart Hospital Diet for Overweight Heart Patients (summary: 7 day diet in which you ate specific foods - Day 1 - all fruits, except bananas; Day 2 - all veggies, no starches; Day 3 - eat day 1 and d…

Ok, I've been using unflavored Isopure in my shakes and added to food. But I've discovered unflavored does not equate to flavorless. Lol. It def has a strange flavor, but its not completely noticeable (to me) in stronger flavored foods (ex: Greek yogurt, chicken salad, or even my shakes). But I just added it to applesauce and tasted nothing but the Protein powder. It also taste strange with Beans. ... It's not completely disgusting, but it does change the taste of food. Do y'all have any recommendations for an unflavored Protein powder with a less noticeable taste??

I am only 10 days out and am already eating soft scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes, cottage cheese, and crab meat. I told my NUT when I went for my chekup the other day. The surgeon was really shocked when I got out of surgery and was able to drink my liquids right away and craved more. I have healed really well. I am trying not to go fast with my healing process but these foods are not causing me any discomfort and go down well. I have always been able to keep my fluids down since after surgery and have not had any visits to the porcline god to throw-up at all. I have always had regular bowel movements since day 3 and am urinating normally. I am taking all of my vit…

Post-op I've continued to track my caloric intake with MyFitnessPal, primarily because I need to track my Protein so that I can ensure I'm meeting the 70g/day minimum my NUT set for me. I'm still giggling each night when I "complete" the day's entry - MFP tells me each night: *Based on your total calories consumed for today, you are eating too few calories. Not only is it difficult to receive adequate nutrition at these calorie levels, but you could also be putting your body into starvation mode. Starvation mode lowers your metabolism and makes weight loss more difficult. We suggest increasing your calorie consumption to 1200 calories per day minimum. Sorry MFP - it'…

I bought a Magic Bullet yesterday at Costo ($47.92 tax inc.). Does anyone here have one? Is it useful? Easy to clean? I thought it was cool because you can blend stuff and even microwave in the same container. It will crush ice and fruits and veggies for smoothies and protein drinks. It came with several different size Mugs, and smaller containers for condiments, etc. I just would like some reviews before I use it. Thanks

Does anyone know if the kirkland brand calcium chews at Costco are calcium citrate or carbonate? I have read through several threads trying to get an answer to this question and keep hearing different things, some say yes some say no. I was going to order from bariatric advantage but thought I might save some money at costco.

Any of you try this re-feed nighttime Protein powder from GNC? It is new. I went into GNC last week ( I know, first mistake), looking to refill my night time casein supply from optimum (gold standard double chocolate, yummy). Normally I go to Vitamin shoppe for my needs, but I was short on time and GNC was closer. The GNC clerk suggested this brand because they do not carry the gold standard. I do not like interacting very much with the GNC because they have very little actual knowledge about the chemistry and physiology attributes of the supplements. The Vitamin Shoppe clerks are very different in this regard and I can have decent conversations with them. Anyways…

I am not a big yogurt fan, but it's obviously become a staple in my life this last month. I am allowed smooth, no lump, greek yogurt as part of my full liquid phase so I've obviously been stuck with vanilla 75% of the time. I've been eating Dannon Fit and Light, Greek, Double Protein at 80 calories and 12 grams of protein. The other day, while stocking up at Walmart, I found the new Dannon Blends line. It includes Orange Cream, Key Lime, Coconut Vanilla, and banana Cream. I have had all of them but the Orange and they are delicious. I am not a huge coconut fan (I'm a liker not a lover) and it's subtle but good. This line isn't overly sweet and you can't really tas…

Hi, I've not been sleeved yet, still hoop jumpn. Ive been reading so many threads and forums just to make sure that my decision is not a bad one. Let me see how to put this. Do any of u post ops feel like you're still dieting? Except this time since the surgery is irreversible, you have no choice but to maintain it? For example, I've read for the mist part that its really a lifestyle change agaii bad eating habits, learning to make better choices, nd I totally agree nd accept that, but there are people who are complaining of stalls and not losing weight anymore that they've started doing a 5:2 diet, I think that's the name of it. Since I'm not familiar w it, I won't s…

I'm almost 4 weeks post-op and craving tomatoes. When can I have them? If I took the skin off, I could make it a mushy food, but then I worry about the seeds. Guidance anyone? I have been eating tomato Soup for several weeks, so not so concerned about the acid in the tomatoes.

...do you worry about adding too many carbs by putting fresh (or frozen) fruits into the mix? One of my colleagues, who is a pretty health-conscious gal, was admiring my bright green smoothie Breakfast this morning. When I told her what was in it, she seemed concerned. I asked her what was wrong, and she asked me, "aren't you worried that you're taking in an awful lot of carbs in that smoothie?" I'm still pre-op, but trying to make healthy choices for my last 13 days with a whole stomach. Should I be worried that my smoothies have too many carbs, since I'm trying to eat a low-carb, healthy diet? I don't want to sabotage myself; and post-op, will it still be someth…

I don't know what is wrong, or I this emotional eating happens after the sleeve .. I have eaten All day - I never have felt like this before with my sleeve ... And I have been stretching out the food all day long - I guess that is why I have been able to fit it in my belly. I am already down 40+ pounds and have been doing great .. Is it because I ate some candy early on today and it set me up on a downside spiral ? Is it because my whole family left yesterday on vacation and I has to stay home to run our family business ? I don't know what is going on with me, I am so scared that this won't stop ! I ate 1500 Calories and excercised about 300 calories off of that so I nett…

Ok, so I had my surgery June 3rd. Did very well the first two weeks but since then I haven't lost anything. At first I was only eating three times a day and I wasn't able to get but 300-400 cals in. (Including protein shakes) I started eating four to five times a day to get in at least 800 cals and I'm walking on the treadmill 30 mins a day. Still no weight loss!! What am I doing wrong? So frustrated!! Any suggestions are appreciated!!

First, I want to say that I am happy with my weight loss so far (23 pounds in 7 weeks), although it is slowing significantly to less than 1 kg (2 lb) per week the last three weeks. Next, I want to say that I understand that there seem to be as many diet plans after the sleeve as there are dietitians. I actually have an appointment with a different dietitian who was recommended to me by a friend who has also had VSG, as a "second opinion" on what my primary dietitian (who works with my surgeon) has told me. When I spoke with this other dietitian on the phone she agreed with me that the diet my current dietitian has me on might not be the best choice for me. My current di…

Hey all just wanted to share what me and my bff made the other night together that was sooo yummy!! We took a whole cantelope and blended it down in the nutribullet and added about 3x the amount of water and artificial sweetner to it for a REAL fresh drink option during the liquid stage because plain water can sometimes get a little boring and I was also missing my soda, especially now that its summer time and so warm! This fresh juice drink killed my craving and was super yummy!! Best part u can make it as sweet or not as you want! I def got all my liquids in that day and even had my fruit but lowwww sugar content! This can be done with any of your fave fruits like pinap…

I went to my second nutrition class last night and I am wondering why the requirements of the two doctors in the same office are so different post op. Our information folder had both docs requirements because the class has both of their patients together. My doctor wants you on pureed food before you leave the hospital on the 3rd day and the other wants you on liquids only until the 3rd week, then they can have pureed. My doc is going ice chips 1st day, protein shake and jello or broth 2nd day and then pureed on the 3rd day. skipping the soft food stage all together. I didn't ask in class why they differ so much in their directions. My doc is the Medical Director at this …
