I am SO bored with eating the same foods, I have 2 more weeks on the pureed stage. Any ideas or suggestions? I am not hungry to begin with and have begun to dread eating because the stuff just doesn't even taste good to me anymore. HELP!

Have had beef jerky several times over the years prior to surgery and liked it. Just not a regular thing I ate. So thought I'd try the Ostrim Teriyaki Jerkee. 2 pieces with 60 cals and 10 g of protein. Good snack right? I did finish one piece and wrapped the other piece back up. I just kept thinking of ostriches running around:( Don't do that when eating other protein so why the ostrich???

So I spent a few days in the hospital last week- came home yesterday. Anyway they gave me decaf iced tea on my lunch tray yesterday. Prior to surgery I liked sweet tea ok but not a huge fan. Well yesterday I tried it with a packet of sweet n low. Omg I had my sister make a pitcher when I got home. I have found something I now love to drink! I have struggled since surgery- didn't like crystal light anymore, milk is ok, Powerade zero isn't that great, and I'm sick of plain Water. So happy with my decaf iced tea and sweet n low! how long should it take me to consume my protein shake. I love the taste of the one I made this morning. It has a lot of protein in it. Is there a time limit? I am trying to be cautious of my new stomach. And I want to promote healing. Am I just not use to eating slowly. Any thoughts?

I will be sleeved on the 18th. Eager to move into new model for healthy living. Understand the phased approach to introducing foods to new tummy. For those who are now not restricted, how are you able to enjoy a wide variety of fresh produce?

So I've stumbled upon these steak strips (extra thick cut) that I think are fantastic. Since surgery 7 months ago I've had trouble with Protein shakes. I rely on lean protein vs. shakes. These steak strips are high in protein and are helping me hit my daily goals. Like with any beef Jerky the sodium levels are high - so I have to keep track of it daily in comparison to other things I eat. Does anyone else use this as a snack/protein supplement?

Ok, I don't normally do this but I need to have a little rant... My BF's bday was yesterday & we are meeting his family for a BBQ tomorrow. Except they have now decided that having a BBQ is too much work (after I already bought the meat for everyone else, & shrimp to skewer for me), and they want to just do deli meat sandwiches, Walmart dessert (i.e., Little Debbies or something)...(after I already prepared a gluten-free, low sugar, Protein added spice cake bc a few of them are diabetic & I thought I might try a nibble), and they are OFFENDED that I (& my BF) still want to bring our BBQ food & don't want to eat lunch meat! I mean honestly, IDC wh…

I bought some SF cherry Davani's flavor from wal-mart, and it didn't seem very, well, flavorfull to me. I used some in a snow cone, and though it is possible I didn't use enough (though the ice was a nice, red color), I just don't know. I know sf stuff typically has less flavor OOMPH than non-SF, but what are other people's experience?

Oh em gee! The "Oh Yeah" bars are phenomenal. I know that for some Protein bars are not ideal and it's possible that these might be my downfall, too, but they are so delicious. I have had the chocolate Caramel Candy and the new Trail Mix bar. They have 170-190 calories and 14 grams of protein so to me, that's a good ratio. The chocolate tastes fairly real and because they have real nuts, raisins and little candy pieces, they are like protein crack. They are not chalky at all nor are they dry. So much more satisfying than my Protein shake and the perfect Meal Replacement for me when I am in my car all day. I've not tried all my Quest flavors yet, but of the…

Hi, I have a vacation planned for 2 weeks in August and will be mostly in hotel and resort the entire time. My doc says its still mushy stage (ugh, I though that would have been done 6 weeks post op). Since I won't be cooking and mostly eating out, what are some suggestions? Has anyone done a vacation this soon out? Any advice would be appreciated so I can prepare and not be stuck.

I'm a week out from being sleeved an I was just wondering if any of you had problems with chewing gum (sugar free, of course)! Does it seem to fill your stomach up with air? It's been a life saver during this preop diet but just don't want to cause any problems postop :-) thanks!

This seems so crazy to me but I need help increasing my daily caloric intake. Currently, I mainly able to get about 700 calories a day -- which I realize is starving my body & of course I'm not losing any weight. But I'm eating at every meal-- granted small amounts ( but it's all I can eat), getting 50-70 g of protein .. Fluid intake is a little under (48-56 oz) a day I'm not hungry but know that I need to eat more Any advice?!?!??!?!

Hey, my name is Kim and I am so new to all of this, I am in the mid stages of being approved! Have had all testing done, I've meet with my nutritionist, and the psych evals! Anyway, back to my question, I am ok with the post diet and the Protein, and the foods. But what concerns me the most is the liquids...I drink probably 200 oz of Fluid a day...water, crystal light, etc.....before lunch I've usually downed at least 60-70 oz. the nutritionist and my health coach have been telling me to start sipping and not drinking with meals to prepare! I was wondering if anyone else drinks a lot of fluids and how they coped!!! I feel like I'm drying up if I don't have a drink near by…

I just ate a cold delicious juicy pear for my afternoon snack.. 96 calories and the exact right amount to satisfy. The old me would have needed to eat two pears and a couple ounces of brie, and half a dozen rice cakes to even feel like I've had a snack. I've always wanted to be able to have a single 100 calorie snack and feel 100% satisfied! It's like a dream come true! I just have to say how much I LOVE my sleeve! It just makes me feel so NORMAL!

I'm new to both MFP and using a tablet, having just gotten it last week when my laptop died. I've been loving both until this morning when I clicked on the MFP app and it said it couldn't synchronize because I had no internet connection. Well, obviously I do because I was able to access this site by typing it into my browser. But everything is running very slow this morning when it's just been zipping along until now. I've loaded a few apps, but not many so I dont think that should be the problem. I don't know if I'm neglecting to shut down programs when I turn off the tablet (because I can't find a way to do so)! Can anybody help? By the way, my tablet is a Samsung G…

I am trying to gather all of the must haves before my surgery. Is there anything you would recommend as a must have regarding kitchen gadgets (measuring, preparing etc) or foods/drinks i should stock up on? What about a blender? The one i currently have is broken and also has no lid! lol Thanks for helping me prepare! Just wanting to know what you have that is a MUST HAVE and you couldn't go without.

Anyone else having or had trouble with drinking water at 5 weeks post op? I've been super lucky with what I can eat. I can eat most things now just not much of it and chew it up real good. Even had some diet soft drink and cordial. But water always makes me nautous. I just had a couple of mouthfuls 20 min apart to have medicine, this made me dry reach and run for the bucket. I've never been sick, this is the closest I've come and I don't like it :-(

My post op diet calls for all liquid protein--no powder shakes for the first 2 weeks. Are there any suggestions for liquid protein drinks/shots? I have noticed several posts on Syntrax but those are powders right? What about Pro Joe or Unjury? Any favorite flavors or other brands anyone can think of that are tasty?

Ok I ordered some Quest bars the other day after my nut recommended them and got them in today. It was a mixed pack of 12 flavors. I decided to try one for lunch and picked out the chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. In a insert in the box it said to try the bar in a microwave for 15 sec. It tastes like a cookie that just came out of the oven. Best Protein bar I have had yet. It is amazing. I found my go to snack or quick Meal Replacement for sure. I am in heaven eating this thing. I didn't think I could find something this good in a Protein Bar. The only thing that could've made it better was a big glass of milk. lol Wanted to share incase anyone was looking for Pr…
