  • I'm two years out and I can eat over a cup of watermelon, but not a lot more. It doesn't slide right down like popcorn and sweet baked items. Lynda

Try blending it up with some water and serve over ice. Very refreshing!!

I haven't gotten that far yet, but I know the dietician said I could have melons or peeled fruit once I got to that stage, so don't think it is TOO bad.

i have been eating a lot of watermelon-- probably about a cup at a time. no problems and no weight gain :)

I've been eating watermelon for awhile now.... No problems so far. My doctor said it's okay because it helps keep me hydrated.... It's considered a full liquid , which I found kinda strange.

My doc said it was a full liquid. I eat it too...well I chew it up, drink the juice, and spit out the tiny bit of watermelon particle that's left. Goes down great and it REALLY helps get my liquid down. I'm only 12 days post-op.

What stage is watermelon in? Liquid or puréed? My doctor has his patients at each stage for a month at a time. I'm hoping it will be ok in the liquid stage if I put in my vitamix. I just got my approval for surgery, now waiting for the doctor's office to call with my date.

For me it is week 5, but everyone is different...

I eat watermelon every day. I have it cut up into 1 inch squares. I seem to crave it when I'm thirsty.

I have no problems with it. I'm 4 weeks out
