  1. Surgery 3/5/2013 Starting weight 232 Current weight 156.5 Going very slow now and can eat more than could before and find certain cravings have come back I would say that the "honeymoon" is over and I am going to have to work hard to get to my goal of 145. Wish the restriction I had at about 4 months out could have lasted FOREVER! Still so glad I had the surgery and would do it again in a heartbeat!

    Soda

if you like lemonade- minute maid has a light version in a can- i like being able to take a can of something to work. at a meeting that i went to the leader did an experiment with "flat soda" and fresh soda- she had bottles and put a balloon on each one- even the flat one blew up the balloon. It stuck in my head how much gas there is in carbonation and i do NOT want to blow my little pouch up with it. i love diet coke but to me it's just not worth it- i never want to stretch my pouch and feel that desperate "gimme food" feeling EVER again.

the only protein shakes that i can tolerate are premier protein chocolate- i get them at sam's club. yummy and not "proteinie" and they have 30 g of protein and only 150 calories! good luck!

    Protein Shake Blues :(

i hated the protein drink search:( the only one i can stomach is the premier protein chocolate flavor. these are premade and each container is 30 g of protein and it's pretty tasty- they are 11 ounces. I drink one every day between breakfast and lunch- i am 8 weeks out and i can get the rest of my required 75 grams of protein in with my meals and that makes me very happy. good luck!

    Dancing vs walking

No, I couldn't have gone back to work the day after release- physically, i could have gone back in about 1 week but I took 4 weeks off and it was wonderful! I was able to get through the liquid and full liquid part of my diet at home:) got somewhat of a handle on the vitamin regimen(truthfully, still working on that one). I loved my time off for recovery and feel like it was the best decision for me but I know not everyone has that luxury(my employers offers short term disability after 5 days off of work and I earned 70% of my salary to stay home and recover)

    Dancing vs walking

i wanted underwear and the nurse said sure:) i had them on about 30 minutes and ended up cutting them off with scissors. they were "bunched" up and it was uncomfortable- I didn't want to get back up so my husband cut them off and threw them away lol. I walked a ton of laps but dancing???? could not have danced until about 1 week post op:)
  22. I am in Indiana and would be willing to pay shipping if you are interested. Please let me know about brands, style and color. I also could use some xl tops to match if you have them. I LOVE clothes and just don't want to spend thousands on my way to a size medium;)
  23. I am 5 weeks out and average around 600 calories per day. I just recently added an evening snack of protein. I am getting 70-75 G of protein every day and eating very few carbs- no bread or crackers of any kind at this point. I eat cheese, refried beans, ground chicken, cheese, yogurt, low fat sliced turkey/ham, tuna, baked fish, eggs- all protein/all the time:)
  24. I am 5 weeks out today and i eat ground chicken, low fat cheese, greek yogurt, tuna, fish, eggs, refried beans, PB2- i pretty much just eat protein so i won't have to drink as many shakes. My doctor's plan allows 3 meals a day that are 2 ounces at each meal and then supplement with protein shakes, milk, sf popsicles in between.
