  1. Surgery 3/5/2013 Starting weight 232 Current weight 156.5 Going very slow now and can eat more than could before and find certain cravings have come back I would say that the "honeymoon" is over and I am going to have to work hard to get to my goal of 145. Wish the restriction I had at about 4 months out could have lasted FOREVER! Still so glad I had the surgery and would do it again in a heartbeat!
  2. I am 5'4" and my starting weight was 232 and I am 161 today:) My surgery was March 3!
  3. love my sleeve, love my life! BEST. THING. I'VE. EVER. DONE!!!
  4. if you like lemonade- minute maid has a light version in a can- i like being able to take a can of something to work. at a meeting that i went to the leader did an experiment with "flat soda" and fresh soda- she had bottles and put a balloon on each one- even the flat one blew up the balloon. It stuck in my head how much gas there is in carbonation and i do NOT want to blow my little pouch up with it. i love diet coke but to me it's just not worth it- i never want to stretch my pouch and feel that desperate "gimme food" feeling EVER again.
  5. never been happier in my life- love my sleeve!

  7. thanks everyone for the encouragement!
  8. Weighed in this morning and my bmi is 29.something- I have turned the obese corner forever! Loving my sleeve and loving my life! Have gone from a size 20W to a size 14, a size xxl to med or large in 4.5 months! Best thing I have EVER done!!!! So happy:)
  9. the only protein shakes that i can tolerate are premier protein chocolate- i get them at sam's club. yummy and not "proteinie" and they have 30 g of protein and only 150 calories! good luck!
  10. i have been eating a lot of watermelon-- probably about a cup at a time. no problems and no weight gain
  11. love my sleeve- couldn't be happier with my results so far! March 5, 2013- the day I got me back
  12. thanks everyone! and yes, the loose skin aspect is a plus! love my sleeve!
  13. I was march 5- starting weight: 230 current weight: 185 height: 5' 4" goal weight: 145
  14. surgery was march 5th and everything has been great so far- down from 230 pounds to 185 pounds! I guess I wish it was faster but I am not complaining- just impatient. Feel better than I have in years! Would do it again in a heartbeat!
  15. congratulations! i am 8 weeks out and down 34 and can't even explain how great it feels. yes, it's still work but it's not like anything else i've ever done! i love my sleeve and i love being in "onederland" for the first time in years!
  16. i hated the protein drink search:( the only one i can stomach is the premier protein chocolate flavor. these are premade and each container is 30 g of protein and it's pretty tasty- they are 11 ounces. I drink one every day between breakfast and lunch- i am 8 weeks out and i can get the rest of my required 75 grams of protein in with my meals and that makes me very happy. good luck!
  17. No, I couldn't have gone back to work the day after release- physically, i could have gone back in about 1 week but I took 4 weeks off and it was wonderful! I was able to get through the liquid and full liquid part of my diet at home:) got somewhat of a handle on the vitamin regimen(truthfully, still working on that one). I loved my time off for recovery and feel like it was the best decision for me but I know not everyone has that luxury(my employers offers short term disability after 5 days off of work and I earned 70% of my salary to stay home and recover)
  18. i wanted underwear and the nurse said sure:) i had them on about 30 minutes and ended up cutting them off with scissors. they were "bunched" up and it was uncomfortable- I didn't want to get back up so my husband cut them off and threw them away lol. I walked a ton of laps but dancing???? could not have danced until about 1 week post op:)
  19. I am in Indiana and would be willing to pay shipping if you are interested. Please let me know about brands, style and color. I also could use some xl tops to match if you have them. I LOVE clothes and just don't want to spend thousands on my way to a size medium;)
  20. I am 5 weeks out and average around 600 calories per day. I just recently added an evening snack of protein. I am getting 70-75 G of protein every day and eating very few carbs- no bread or crackers of any kind at this point. I eat cheese, refried beans, ground chicken, cheese, yogurt, low fat sliced turkey/ham, tuna, baked fish, eggs- all protein/all the time:)
  21. I am 5 weeks out today and i eat ground chicken, low fat cheese, greek yogurt, tuna, fish, eggs, refried beans, PB2- i pretty much just eat protein so i won't have to drink as many shakes. My doctor's plan allows 3 meals a day that are 2 ounces at each meal and then supplement with protein shakes, milk, sf popsicles in between.
  22. I would take 2 Tbsp of PB2 and mix with water and a little splenda and then mix that with 2 Tbsp of fat free cool whip! so good and has 5g of protein:) feels like you are eating peanut butter mousse! happy birthday- mine is Sunday!
  23. congrats- i can't wait to put on something with x in the size
