  2. Congrats! You look amazing and I can't wait to have those same feelings!
  3. Did you only eat the broth? If not are you allowed the other stuff this early out? I could only have liquids for 3 weeks but every surgeon's plans are different..If so then dont' feel guilty, as long as you tolerated it ok..I wish I knew when the hunger hormone would be gone because I am 5 weeks out today and I still feel hunger! Good luck to you on your journey..and just follow your Dr's plan so that you recover well..
  4. WE are sleeve sisters because I am a month today too! LOL..I'm still on the mushy phase though and I have a wedding to go to this weekend which might be challenging..I've lost 24 lbs so far and I"m feeling great now, some days I even forget I had surgery..Good luck to you..

That's great news! I'm around the same weight that you started out as, and my surgery is in 11 days..I can't wait and will be so happy to see the 150's again too!! Size 10? that's amazing, I don't even remember what a size 10 looks like, so you've given me lots of encouragement, thank you and good luck on your continued success!

That's great news Melissa, gives me hope..I would be really happy to lose 54 pounds in 9 weeks! My surgery is in 11 days and I hope I do as well..
  7. Oh great, I just bought a big cannister of Crystal light to have post op, but I didn't know it had aspartame in it! I won't eat or drink anything with aspartame in it..UGH..

PS, I know it will sound crazy, but get a book called, The easy way to quit smoking, by Alan Carr..It was very helpful in my quitting..

I know your struggle..I had to quit as well before the surgery and I too have tried numerous times before..I quit on Jan 2nd but my question is, I was using the patch and the ecigs, which still have nicotine in them, so will this be accepted when I get tested the day of the surgery? I'm so nervous about that...

I went for my sleep study and found that I do have sleep apnea. Tonight I go for my second sleep study to get fitted for the CPAP. I'm not gonna lie, I barely slept at all the first time. It was impossible for me to fall asleep with all of those wires and stuff on me, plus the thought that someone was watching me really creeped me out. You do eventually fall asleep and don't even realize it but I woke up constantly. Other people tell me they fell right to sleep and slept fine all night. I'm preparing not to get any sleep again tonight, LOL..It's not bad having the study though, just plan it so that you have nothing to do the next day so that you can catch up on your sleep..good luck with it..
  12. Yes, I think I would need more then 3 days as well, but I guess we'll see..Just praying that my insurance approves it..How are you doing post-op? best wishes..
  13. I am still waiting to get approval from my insurance to have the surgery, but I was wondering, after reading alot of the posts, how come my dr says that I only need to do liquids the day before the surgery, not 2 weeks before like most of you seem to be doing? Also, how long were most of you out of work for after the surgery? My doctor said that I would have the surgery on a thursday and would be able to return to work by Monday? does that seem right? just wondering...thank you..Kari
  14. Christy I wouldn't worry too much about it. I just had my appointment with the surgeon and he said I only have to do a liquid diet the day before the surgery. I asked him why other doctors have their patients do a liquid diet 2 weeks pre-op and he said it's unnecessary. The chances of your liver being too large are extremely slim. Good luck to you.
