Chicken salad?

I have been able to eat cottage cheese, refried beans with chz and some potato soup. I really want some chicken salad made with FF mayo and some relish...anyone think its too soon?

My doc said I could have chicken salad after I was on soft foods. Just to chop it up really small or even put it through the blender. I've actually been wanting it too but I'm kinda scared to try chicken because of everyone having problems with it. However I haven't had any issues with anything so far so maybe I'll make it for supper.

I'm scared too, I threw up for the first time today, kinda out of nowhere, i had like 3 sips pf a protein shake. i'm thinking of maybe trying egg salad first.

When was your surgery?

My but says chicken salad usually goes down easier because the mayo moistens it. Plain chicken is dense and drier. Chicken salad would be a good thing to start with if you're in the soft food stage. Just chop it up small and make it really moist with mayo. It's one of the first foods I tried and it didn't bother me at all.

Be careful with chicken and eggs they r both tricky and both have made me puke. Take it slow and chew like crazy!

Thanks for the input everyone. Decided to make some egg salad. I'll try one bite tonight and see how it goes lol. I may save chicken salad for this weekend!

I used fat free canned chicken breast for my first chicken salad...it was moister.

That sounds like a good idea. They say if something doesn't agree with you, wait a week or so and try it again.

I just made tuna salad. Can of tuna, two chopped up hard boiled eggs, and 1/4 cup light colby jack cheese. Lots of protein in that tasty concoction. Took me two days to eat it but it was seriously tasty and didn't give me any issues.

That sounds pretty good! :-) I think I'll give it a try!
