Trying to be smart about it. Sorry you're still having keg pain, Dori. That sucks. I hope they get a handle in it soon. What class are you taking? Sounds exciting. How us everyone else doing?

Only you and you partner can know what's in your hearts.I'm afraid, my friend, there is no crystal ball as to the emotional / financial/ spiritual outcomes. Look into your heart.

I know that people who aren't in pain really can't conceive of what it's like. Hang in there. Your weight loss is really fantastic. Praying that another surgery will put everything right for you.

I know what you mean about chronic pain. It becomes a type of hazy background that colors everything you think, say, feel, or do. If it helps, I understand. I had my heart surgery in 2000, and it sometimes seems like I don't remember not being in pain. I just try to remember that my pain may be unavoidable, but suffering us optional, if that makes sense. I also think your loss has been amazing, especially since you haven't been able to exercise. I'm sure that last bit of weight will come off once you can get around. I hope they can fix you up soon. Maybe they can give you a neurostimulator if need be after your next surgery. Hopefully, you won't need anything!

I think of you so often. I hope a second surgery puts everything in order for you. I just got out of the hospital ; I had a major reaction to all the medication I was on for my ear pain. No fun. Eating well in the hospital wasn't easy. I either ate string cheese and veggies or total crap, so I need to get back on track now. I really lost my taste for protein, and I still need it to meet my daily goal. Time to get strict. My wish for all of us is that our second year is stress free and healthy.

Wow, we all need to feel better! Crud, moving craziness, more surgeries, hospitalization. We're all a mess! Lol. I'm seeing a surgeon for my ear tomorrow, to see if brain surgery will help...yikes! I'm also having weird neurological symptoms like slurring words numbness, etc. Lots of questions. MS? Lyme disease? Lupus? I need a health advocate...doctors are stupid, lol. Prayers we all get better soon. Weight is pretty stable at 174. I'm ok with that, as long as I don't gain!

Yeah, we certainly have all had our lives turned upside down..I don't know if I would have chosen to have surgery this year.. If I had known I would have had a year like this..but hindsight is 20/20..at least I look good in clothes while my life is a shitstorm...excuse the cussing. By the way, al..Dori and I are going to visit you to get medical marijuana for our pain. We're stuck here in boring Wisconsin..lol TOTALLY JUST KIDDING!

    self conscious

I have always been ok with being naked. I mean, when I was fit, I was ok, and when I was 297 lbs, I still loved being without clothes. Now, at 170 lbs, I can barely stand to take my clothes off to shower. I knew I would have loose skin, but I haven't yet become ok with how wrinkly my whole body is. I've been told by a plastic surgeon that a body and arm lift are my only options..it's just not going to " snap back" no matter how much I work out. We're not in position financially to afford plastic surgery. I really had this surgery to be healthy, and I'm working with a therapist on refocusing my thinking. I'm just surprised how much this us bothering me. Is anyone else struggling with body image issues or feeling self conscious?

Sorry about your complications..that sucks. I am not at all sure my husband IS ok with how I look...he says he is..but I still worry. Time to talk.

I think I am freaking out so much because I'm going to Phoenix and am wearing summer clothes for the first time..very unpretty. I have great legs..even when I'm far, but my thighs are really droopy..I'm sure I'll gradually get used to the skin and appreciate nudity again..until then, ill keep telling myself" I am a warrior!"

I know what you mean..trying to stay off narcotics , but with my ear pain, it's impossible...I've been in the er 10 times in 4 months now I'm looking at brain surgery...it's about 60% successful, and I could lose hearing, have facial paralysis, and voice changes. Scary scary stuff. Don't know know what to do.
