  6. Good morning all,I have my date May 24th ,but I'm not going to be sleeved ;( ill have the bypass instead, I had an appointment with my surgeon yesterday to ask why I was approved for the bypass and not the sleeve ,which I had requested,he said it was because my esophagus lining was damage because of the acid reflux, and the sleeve would just make the reflux worse, also it would damage my esophagus even farther.i asked about the down time, the dumping, the malabsorption ,and was quite surprised that there really isn't any different except for the rerouting of the stomach, and the amount of weight you lose.so with that I have a date May 24th and per op is may 16th ,start per op diet May 17th only one week of liquids then surgery. I'm sad that I can't have the sleeve but I'm excited that I will be able to get this weight off I know I'm not a sleever, but I would like to continue on this forum, is that possible? In my heart I'm a sleever !!!!

  9. I want to tell everyone that I was approval for surgery...... The wrong one I wanted the sleeve but my Dr. Submitted the gastric bypass to the insurance . What should I do? Im so pissed right now I don't know if the insurance will approve the sleeve now it took three weeks to hear from them . Does anyone know the pros and cons of the gastric bypass and the sleeve ?
  10. Hi everyone I'm really pleased I found this site ,I've done all the necessary steps required for the sleeve , I'm just waiting to hear from my insurance company it's been three weeks and I'm getting a little anxious I guess is anyone from the DFW. Area? What Drs. Are you using? Hopefully the insurance will hurry up so I can have the surgery in May.
  11. I've done all the per-op necessities,I'm just waiting on my insurance company ,how long did it take for your insurance company to approve and contact your Dr.? It has been since April 18th that my Dr. Submitted the paperwork to my insurance .I would really like to have a early June surgery . I'm getting a little anxious I guess.
