About Me

  • Gender
    Female
I grew up as a skinny girl, a normal size teen and a size 12 Bride at age 18. I gained 50 pounds with my first pregnancy, reaching 205 and just kept growing from there. I became aware I was at my highest wt on my 50th Birthday. I peaked at 303. My husband threw a suprise BD party for me and it was such a fun day. Then I saw the pictures of me. I hated them. Joined weight watchers for the third one and made a goal to lse 50 lb in my 50th year. I did it. But then after a couple weeks of eating the same as everyone around me, I ad fined 15lb! I was so discouraged and the wt never came off. I tried several times, but would get hungry and cry. It occurred to me that I was viewing my whole wt loss attempt as a punishment. When I was that skinny young girl, it was because I was abused and food/meals were withheld fom me as a punishment. I cried myself to sleep many afternoons and nights. I even stole lunch tems from classmates sometimes. Realizing this made me come to the conclusion that some help in the form of weight loss surgery would probably help me. But it wasn't until this last summer when I started having severe low back ain and knee pain that I made the decision to check into it. An MRI showed I have a couple herniated disc. Recommendation: weight loss! I cried again. I tried ping to the gym, but with the back, knee and fibromyalgia...it's like a catch 22. I felt stuck and my wt had increased to 325 over the winter. So I contacted NWWLC and they checked on my Insurance. They will cover 90%! I had all my consults a week later and decided on the sleeve. I had my Endoscopy yesterday and surgery date is May 13th. I can't wait!
