I had surgery on 9/11 and am feeling much better now. I am still finding it hard to consume enough water. I don't really eat anything at all. I am considering juicing for a bit.

Flame away if you will, but I'm here looking for help. I never stopped using my e-cigarette and I'm regretting it. My surgery was almost 4 months ago. I have pain and discomfort in my stomach and esophagus. I can barely eat or drink. I am on antacids twice a day and nothing helps. I'm going to have some tests done to see if there's something else going on. But, is it safe to say this is the nicotine doing this to me? I'm going to pick up a Chantix prescription today. Wish me luck.

Well it's about time I introduce myself and lose my security blanket so to speak! My name is Crissy from VA, I am 32 and Momma to 2 gorgeous boys(or at least I think so) they are 2&5 and they are my WHY along with their Daddy of course! I haven't been heavy my whole life but for the last 12 years I've put on ALOT of weight, to the tune of 75-80lbs! I am a mere 5' tall so being 210lbs makes me quite round I've been considering weight loss surgery for a couple years now starting with the LapBand, but my research has led me to believe that the VSG is what's best for me! Which has led me here for support! I've so enjoyed reading everyone's stories! Such inspiration!…

Hey everyone, I've been reading everything on this forum for at least a year but now I'm ready to officially get in the game. I'm 34 live in queens/Long Island area. I have been struggling with my weight for at least 20 years. I had lap band surgery in January of 2011. My highest weight before that was 370. I lost about 90lb on my own cuz I never reached any restriction with to band then I had to stop seeing the dr cuz off financial issues. I went all the way down to 259 and that's where I started to go right back up. Last December I saw a new doctor and decided to revise and get RNY. However I didn't get the band removed until yesterday. ( dr won't do in one surgery) …

I just signed up for this group. I am scheduled for my sleeve surgery on 11/11 at NYC's Lenox Hill Hospital. I'm looking for any advice on the next 3-1/2 weeks - how to prepare, what I should be reading, how I should get myself ready emotionally and physically.

So it's day 3 of my pre OP diet. The first two days were crazy. I was grumpy, super tired, and hungry. This morning I had energy and surprisingly wasn't hungry. I'm just wondering how the next 11 days went for everyone? My surgery date in October 29th. I'm super excited but still nervous. I'm also having my gastric band taking out when they do the gastric bypass. Anyone else have this revision from band to rny? How bad is the post OP pain and on average how long were you in the Hospital?

So I'm 2wks post op and every time I drink my Premier Protein shake (that I have been drinking for the past 3mos) I start to itch from the neck down. The Doc just told to increase my protein to 90gms daily & now this. I'm really bummed Out!

Its crazy how much my taste buds have changed & I'm running out of ideas for my full liquid stage.. It gets frustrating at times because I've changed not the world around me, so having my family parade around me with certain foods bothers me... They just don't understand how hard it can be......

I was sitting around today thinking about this journey that we have or will embark on called weight loss .... I'm sorry that weight has caused us to have to undergo this type of self dare I say mutilation .... I'm sorry that this world has seen fit to make even medically healthy people just Over weight seek this surgery to be so called normal .... I'm sorry because that is me , 75% was due to possible future health issues but 25% is pure vanity and not wanting to turn 50 and be fat anymore ... I'm sorry that I didn't see the girl my husband has loved for 30 years when I look in the mirror , or the mother that my children adore .. I just say fat ... And I'm sorry .;(

Today begins the First day of a new journey to a healthier life. The surgery went well and the first night of post op was easier than anticipated. I woke this morning with some Gas pain and a little surgical discomfort, but, nothing out of the ordinary. Two weeks on the pre-surgery liquid diet dropped 16 lbs pre-surgery (amazing). I was able to take my dog for his morning walk, drink a warm tea and a Glucerna shake for breakfast ( type 2 diabetic). Feeling very satisfied. Good luck to all.

  19. Today I did very good with my meals and exercised was great, felt very good! But I can't sleep right now and I'm having cravings! I don't want to eat anything, I did so great today that I don't want to ruin it! How can I avoid feeling this way? This carb withdrawal is real!!

  25. Hi! Happy to find an online support group for LapBand patients! During 2 week pre-op diet through one week post op visit, I lost 18.5lbs. Since then, I've only managed to lose a pound. Nurse told me not to be discouraged if I don't lose any weight between one week post op visit and first fill on 10/28/13. I am hungry, and on weekends I tend to push the limits. Anything can slip though this sucker. My understanding is that the band is simply sitting there, so perhaps I should be using this time to heal, and still make good food and beverage choices like I did during my 2 week pre-op diet? Can somebody please confirm this? A 1 pound loss in a month is disheartening…

It's been a year since my surgery and I only lost 50lbs! I have been eating very good and I'm scared! I don't want to go back to the weight I had and scared I'm making my stomach stretch and making it bigger! Right now I can eat a whole hamburger, a few weeks after my surgery I couldn't, I barely would eat a 1/4 and I would be very full! With time I feel I'm able to eat more and more! I don't know what to do! I'm trying to exercise as much as I can and eating somewhat good! I'm at this alone and don't have no one to talk too! Am I the only one going through this problem?
