  4. Hi! So I had gastric bypass 8/15. I know it has only been 4 days, I'm just curious when I can expect to start losing. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App

  6. That is perfectly normal to be nervous. I am kind of nervous and I don't even have my surgery scheduled. I finally got a call from my surgeons office yesterday, I think she is a bit annoyed with me ???? she didn't really tell me anything I already knew. She says to get a sleep study done, which is in the works but I'm pretty sure I am at weight my bmi needs to be. So I'm not sure what is next.
  7. Oh awesome!! I wish you the best of luck and can't wait to hear how it goes!
  8. I'm glad I am not the only one who has done this. Hopefully I'll get some answers this week. When was your surgery? How are you doing?
  9. HI everyone! My name is Brandi, I am 32 years old from Phoenix, AZ. I got the lap band 10/2013, over the next year I lost almost 80 lbs. In 01/2015 I had to have my band emergently removed due to complications. After that I tried to get approved for the Lap band to gastric bypass conversion . I was denied as I didn't have a high enough bmi or any comorbidities. Over the next year I managed to gain all of my weight back plus a little more so I am now in the process of getting approved for bypass, (I currently have a bmi of 38) My insurance (of course) denied me right away because high cholesterol isn't a comorbidity and my bmi isn't over 40. I was about 15 lbs away from my bmi just over 40, so I decided to gain that weight (i know not the best idea but hey gotta do what you gotta do.) I have called my surgeons office to see what the next step is but have but heard from them. Does any one know, do I need to appeal it still or just go get weighed in at the surgeons office to prove I am at 40 now? Thank you for reading. Wish me luck! I need this!

  11. I am so glad to see I'm not the only one. I had to have my band taken out this past Thursday because it wasn't sitting right. I have lost 76 pounds since I got it put it in a year ago and am scared to death to gain the weight back. I really really hope to get the sleeve done.

  14. That is awesome you are off of your meds! My band is on the tighter side right now. It depends on so many things what I can eat. I try to stick to low carb high protein like eggs or cottage cheese. What about you?

  24. Thank you for the responses! I didn't even think about not being able to wear the fit bit at work. I'm a surgical tech, so I definitely won't be able to wear it. Hmmmm I wonder if it would fit around my ankle lol

  28. Awesome! Thank you! I will check it out.
  29. I was banded October 10, 2013. I am down 61 pounds and have 41 more pounds until I reach my goal weight. I am very happy how far I have come but 41 pounds seems so far away. I don't eat very much but when I do I don't make the best choices. Does any one have any tips/ advice/ suggestions? For instance for breakfast I drink a protein shake but I find myself hungry not long after. But at the same time, I can't eat solid foods that early. And exercise. ... ughhhh.. I can not seem to get motivated to exercise! I know that would make a huge difference. Any suggestions on that? Help! :-) thank you for taking the time to read this.
