So my surgery was on 7/5 and according to my surgeon everything went perfect, did the leaking test and everything came out perfect. I'm home now, and I've been getting up and walking and trying to drink broth, water and having sugar free jello. Everything is measured to insure I'm having no more than 4-8 oz but no matter what I drink I feel nauseous, nothing comes up but the sensation is there. And ever time I breathe my stomach feels like it's bubbling, not sure what to make of this I just feel weak and trying to keep everything down. Has anyone else felt this way?

Hi. I am about 4.5 weeks out from my sleeve surgery, my dr has had me on regular food since day 6 post op. I had gone back to soft foods about 2 weeks ago, and just started eating meats again this week. Tonight, for the first time, I went out to dinner with my family, I had a chicken caprese meal. I ate about 5 bites of chicken, 2 pieces of motzarella and maybe 5 crouton size pieces of roasted potato. I stopped when I started feeling full, but I can't help but wondering if its too much. My dr said I can eat breads and stuff AFTER I eat my protein which I do....(make sure I eat protein first). Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app

I had surgery 6/29 and have been doing very well. Can drink fine. Can finish a whole protein shake in a half hour. But, darn I'm hungry. I cannot stop thinking of things I'd like to eat. I imagine myself taking bites of the foods. Facebook and commercials are killing me. Is anyone else extremely hungry? I mean, I've even thought - for half a second- what would happen if I took a bite of that cheese in the fridge. [emoji15]. Now, of course I won't.....but I thought it!

I just got weighed at my last pre-op Appt. I'm down 10 pounds since I started this diet last Thursday. I still have 5 days left on this diet until my surgery. Is 10 pounds good? I feel it's good but not sure. How much have you lost on yours?

I'm not too sure if this is where I should ask this but..... Since my surgery, my hands have been very shaky. Not to low sugars or bad nutrition or anything like that. All is really good. I'm not losing weight to fast, all blood work is done and looks great. My surgery was on Jan 17, 17. Has anyone out there experience and does it get better? Or anything that made it better? Thank you for listening, worries me sometimes when I try and do fine detail of something and my hands start to shake. Some days are better then others. And no there is no history in my family of Parkinson's or anything. Like I said, it happened not to long after the sur…

I am almost five weeks post surgery. Today I worked out for an hour. I have been able to do that in years. I love weight lifting and being fit and I can finally do it again. I have rheumatoioid arthritis and diabetes. Before the surgery I was constantly sick, I had cellulitis 3 times last year. I have worked out 4 days so far this week and I'm sleeping less. I have my life back. I feel like I was in prison before and I have now been released. This is the real me. I may not get down to my goal weight as I love lifting heavy weights. But I have already gotten out of this surgery what I wanted, improved health and energy.

I had the sleeve on 7/10 and I'm trying to navigate the whole eating thing. How do you determine how much you can take in? I'm on clear liquids through today and move to purees tomorrow. It's taken me 20 minutes to get 3oz of broth down because I'm scared of eating too much and vomiting or feeling pain. Am I being too cautious? Any advice?

Hey guys just a heads-up, I tend to get nauseous if I mistakenly overeat, not to the point of vomiting mind you, though it has happened twice, but rather just usually overly full; I'm sure I'm not the only one here who suffers that, so I've been trying out eating a mint or two (Peppermint) if that happens and it seriously helps with easing myself, since then I always carry a box of ice breakers coolmints but I'm sure any other strong mint will work, specially if it's peppermint.

I am having my gallbladder removed due to gallstones on July 20th. The doctors could not get my coumadin levels down in a 72 hour window so they put in a drainage for three weeks for the inflammation and infection. I was also put on a regimen of antiobiotics. It has been a tremendously difficult and a painful time. Anyone have any advice or had their gallbladder removed ? The pain is excruciating and I am currently on oxycodone and bed rest. My surgery date was April 3, 2017. I'm at the end of my 11th week and I've only lost 48lbs, but for the last week I've been going back and forth between 1.5lbs and 2lbs. I feel as though I've hit another stall. Unfortunately, I've also been dealing with an injury where my hip was pulled out of place and I've been unable to walk my normal 5 to 6 miles. I'm frustrated a bit. I also feel so limited with what is acceptable to eat that at times I don't wish to eat at all. I see how much others have lost and I am amazed. I'm just wishing I could lose so much so fast, but everyone is different I see. I'm told you have to eat to lose, that is beginning to be a challenge. I don't …

Just had follow up blood work done, specifically to test for Vitamin D and A1C levels - pre surgery my Vitamin D was at 10, now at 29 (recommended is 30+). My A1C was at 7%, now at 5.8% (7 is diabetic and 5.8 is pre-diabetic). Feels so great to moving myself outside of the dangers that come with diabetes! Fortunately all my other numbers were good. And, I have just donated 10 bags of professional clothing that no longer fits me and my closets are empty. I want to thank the posters of these Forums - I don't fear the stalls (had a week 5 one, others to come no doubt), I am tracking everything, relate to the # on the scale as a tool to assess what's working and …

Ok so I am 7 months post op on the 22nd and have lost a total of 123 lbs so far!! Yesterday I officially started doing workouts such as 15 min of intense cardio and some weight lifting. My issue is I’ve been hungry more often lately and feel as if I can eat more. I counted my calories for today and I’ve hit a total of 1400. For fats 42g carbs 49g and 93 for protein. Is this too much considering I’m only 7 months post op??

Hey! How can you tell if you are full when eating brothy soups? No hard or soft food. Just the broth. Is there a sign, since it is liquid? I was able to sip a couple teaspoons. I heard my stomach rumble and then I burped twice. I took that as a sign. Lol. But I wasn't sure.

Some days are harder than others. Like today, I went out to lunch for Lebanese food. I was mindlessly eating the appetizer hummus with friends and ate too much and then felt sick for the rest of the time we were there. I knew I wouldn't be able to eat very much but I didn't even get to touch my main dish. I brought it home and will enjoy it when I can, that's not a problem. The thing is, when I eat, I haven't mastered knowing my portion sizes and I think I've been too easy going with portions lately. Sometimes I think I just wait for my pouch to remind me it's there and by then, it's always too late. I want to feel normal again, and have to teach myself what normal means …

Sleeved on 7/11, home 7/13. Didn't really sleep much last night due to back sleeping all night (another topic) but when I decided to get out of bed and walk to the bathroom, my legs felt like I was recovering from a 50mile hike. I know I'm currently slightly hunched over due to the abdominal tightness which has me walking different, but has anyone else experienced this and what did you do to remedy the situation?? I figure it's either fatigue from being in a bed most/all week OR it was because I was walking through all the cute nurse's minds in the hospital! (lol... jk)

I'm on clear liquid diet for a week post surgery and can only have my protein powder mixed with water - which is the worst experience so far. Yesterday I was still trying to gag down one scoop of protein powder in 32 ounces of water (diluted to try to make it go down better) and had a great idea that now I'll be doing daily this summer. I took ice and a scoop of chocolate protein powder and blended it up using the rest of my above mentioned protein water (about 10 oz) to make a protein icee. It was so much better than I expected and I was able to get the full 28 ounces down within 2 hours. I feel tons better now that I got that much more water and protein in on day 5 post…

Hi folks, So I'm wondering if I'm hitting a hormone driven depression patch. I will start this out by saying I've already scheduled an appointment with my GP and have preemptively taken an extra blood tests for my regular Surgeon's appointment to make sure all is well with my other numbers. What happened is a few weeks ago I started feeling really down and it doesn't make sense. I'm active, I have a good social life, friends, work, etc. Of course nothing is perfect. The problem is I started feeling really negative about myself, feeling like I had no point on this earth, why am I here, etc. And I walk around on the verge of tears. This is not like…

For those of you about to have your surgery....take measurements! I had surgery on 5/5 and have lost 47 pounds. I recently hit a stall when I started working out. I know I'm probably gaining muscle and losing size but because I didn't take beginning measurements I have nothing to compare it to. Just thought I'd share [emoji4]

What were some of your favorite foods after the purée stage? I hate the purée stage!! I'm so sick of cottage cheese and yogurt and protein drinks. I get to "eat" beginning Thursday and I'm so excited! I don't love a lot of protein-rich foods...no seafood for sure! I've been making smooth chicken salad during this phase and I am over it! Tried a scrambled egg but since I'm supposed to only eat a bite every few minutes it quickly got cold and gross. Can I have a modified taco? Ground turkey or lean beef with seasonings, a little cheese and in a lettuce wrap? That sounds amazing to me! Would love any suggestions!! I'm 5 1/2 weeks out right now....surgery was 6/1 and I've l…

HW-306 SW-286 CW-240 But I think I hit a stall I've been working out and drinking water, eating properly and the scale has not moved....is that normal even in 3 months? my nutritionist actually told me that with RNY it actually takes roughly about 12-18 to get to your goal. So I'm two weeks post op today and I went to my NUT today. I am watching everyone post how much they have lost after having their procedure on the same day as me and I have only lost a few pounds. She thinks I may be retaining fluids, but it's very discouraging. The past two weeks have been so difficult for me emotionally and physically. I am not feeling any energy to do much. After I do a little bit I need to lay back down. I am getting around 40-60g of protein in, but definitely not nearly enough fluids. Anyone have the surgery and be two weeks out and really haven't lost anything?

I'm about 2 1/2 months post-op. I'm having the feeling like food is always stuck in my throat after I eat. Happens a lot with salmon, eggs, and other fish/meats. Sometimes, my voice will even sound a little weird when I talk (like something stuck in there). I'm going in tomorrow for an EGD to make sure my esophagus hasn't narrowed or there isn't a stricture (I know those or very rare with the sleeve). My doctor was concerned because he said at 2 months out eating shouldn't be a chore, yet I feel like it is. Don't get me wrong...I want to eat and have hunger, it's just miserable eating and I have that stuck feeling for about 40 minutes afterwards. Also, lots of belch…

Ok so this is the only place I can share this. I am 5 weeks post opt feeling good and plugging along. Probably my own fault but started back online dating. Got to a point someone wanted to meet and I told them about my wls and they said they had to go and stop talking to me. So what's worse being overweight and not trying to help myself and single or overweight but making progress to be healthy. Now I just feel awful.

Just feeling sorry for myself right now... I've been looking for bathing suits. I haven't had one in many years and I figured, hey I've lost 200lbs I should get a bathing suit. Much crying later I've decided that I will not own a bathing suit this summer, just a tshirt and shorts if I feel like going in my parents' pool. Yes I've lost a lot of weight and I'm much healthier, but oh my gosh my body is a mess, everything is loose and hanging and lumpy and just awful.
