Trying to stay positive but I am a little over 2 months since I was sleeved down 30 since May 2nd, 45 total. I feel like I'm getting off track after seeing a tiny bit of success. I am afraid on not losing and failing. Sorry sounding like a downer.

Hi....tomorrow I'm one week post op and I don't think I have lost much weight. Everyday my intake of the liquid diet get better and a little more. I'm I doing something wrong? I'm so scared of messing the surgery up. I'm not hungry but I slip water and protein shake throughout the day. What else should I do that I may not be doing?

Hi All, I'm 1 Month post op and had a questions about smoking weed. I was a chronic user before my surgery but stopped smoking a month before my operation. Have any of you smoked after surgery? I dont have a vaporizer but I have a pipe and a bong. I asked my PA and she said that it should be fine, but I want people's personal experiences. Besides the munchies, what would go wrong with smoking from a pipe or bong? I'm looking into getting a vape but it's expensive. Thoughts?

Does anyone have nightmares that they're eating foods they shouldn't eat? I dream I'm eating carbs and fast food and things I'm not allowed to have so early in my journey and I wake up so relieved that I didn't actually do that to myself? I don't have normal daily struggles with food, I make good choices and stick to them but at night, anything goes!

I had surgery on 7/6/17 and after surgery and my leak test I was finally allowed to sip water. It was taking me about 45 min to even sip 1oz of fluid. Now here I am a few days later and I find myself able to sip around 5oz of water in an hour and still be thirsty. I am in no way chugging but I just drink it pretty considtantly and I feel fine. I'm really lacking in my protein just because it seems to make me Thirstiest so I only get in maybe 3oz of it a day1. Tomorrow I'm going to be alternating 2oz of water and 1oz protein. I guess my question is should I be drinking so much liquid this early out? I see some people a few weeks out who aren't drinking that much and it ma…

Hello everyone, i am truly excited about my post op recovery. However, I am having an issue with my protein shakes. I started with Syntrax nectar whey isolate and it would make my stomach churn and straight through me. Not in a good way! I consulted my the nutritionist and she had me switch to Orgain organic protein ( plant based) same situation. Has any one had this issue? The concern is that even though I am taking my protein shakes, they are not staying in my system. Thanks in advance.

Hi! I am just starting the "soft solids" phase (I am a month out). My plan says I am allowed 2-3 ounces for the next two weeks. This is how much food I normally prepare. But in reality, there is just no way I can eat that much in one sitting without either throwing up or getting right to the edge. Fortunately I've figured out how to tell when I am getting to that point and STOPPING before it gets to be bad. What I find myself doing, however, might not be so constructive, and I wanted to get your feedback about it. I will wait at least 40 minutes to have some water, which as someone pointed out "washes out" the sleeve. Now I realize that I'm supposed to leave a…

I had gastric sleeve Dec 29, 2014. The protein shakes make me nauseous now and I have tried every option. (Soy protein with Lactaid lately). I cannot get enough protein in AND fluids on the same day. I HATE how I feel now. And do NOT say talk to my doctor. He is sarcastic and acts like I'm stupid. I have lost almost 60 lbs and would gladly add it back to feel as healthy as I did before this stupid surgery. I had a lung partially collapse after surgery which eventually got me a chest tube. My bariatric surgeon blamed me and said that I had pneumonia. (With NO pneumonia symptoms)! I WANT MY STOMACH BACK NOW!!! Last night I began to shake almost like a seizure but I was …

Need some feedback from sleeved folks 18 months-2 years out. I just had my year visit with my surgeon's office. HW known 336 SW 303 CW 194 GW 136. The doctor said that I should aim for GW 170, that I am being unrealistic in my goal. That would still leave me overweight for my height bordering on obese. Do you think reaching 136 by my 2 year anniversary is unrealistic? That is 58 lbs in a year. Although they were thrilled with my results, I am feeling discouraged after my visit.

Okay folks here it is..i had original surgery in 2002 January, had a revision three years ago..have had bouts of pancreatitis off and on which to my understanding can be fatal...had a scope done by my bariatric doctor. He said I had candycane syndrome. Said it is likely the culprit of pancreatitis attacks. So Monday I go in for that repair on my small intestine. My question is this....Has anyone ever experienced this syndrome? and did it get better after surgery to correct the problem? from what I have read it is relatively rare, and article says ninety four percent correction after surgery which is dam good in my opinion. Oh starting weight before original was five h…

Well, I finally ventured out today. We went to the mall and saw Spider-Man Homecoming. Then we went to Red Robin where I had a cup of beef broth since I'm still on clear liquids. I was in a fair amount of pain towards the end, but think it was good for me to get out. HW-292 • SW (6/29/17) 256.6 • CW 247.2

I will start purées July 20. On the 27, I will be taking a quick 3 day family trip about 5.5 hours from home. I will be able to pack a cooler but no freezer and no way to warm cold/frozen pre-prepped things. I'm going to be sick of shakes and yogurts (probably). Any suggestions for these days? I've read people getting soup at Panera. Any other "to-go" options? Thanks in advance!!

I have been on my lap band journey since 2/23/17, (still a newbie) I did not have any idea what to expect but I think I had my expectations were way too high I assumed the weight would melt off, that my cravings would disappear and boy did I learn that was not the case. Until recently, I had the wrong mindset, I was worried about being in the green zone, how many fills I needed to get to it. I now know that being in the green zone is when you are satisfied with smaller portions, you don't get stuck at every meal and slow weight loss. I know that if I chew slow and don't take big bites I wont have PB or sliming incidents. I have learned to not be a mouth washer which this…

Also what exercise are you doing? How often do you do It? I look forward to read what everyone has to say. Thank everyone! !!

I am new here. I had Gastric Sleeve surgery Tuesday morning June 27, 2017. My GI doctor told the surgeon that I had a hiatal hernia that needed to be fixed; my surgeon reassured me she would fix it. My 1 1/2 to 2 hour surgery turned into 4 hours. My surgeon said I had one of the biggest hernia's she has ever seen. She told me that a large portion of my stomach was inside of the hernia and it was tricky to fix, but she did fix it. I woke up not being able to talk, dry heaving over and over again. I also had a major asthma attack in recovery and needed breathing treatments. They kept me two days because of the severe tightening in my lungs and chest and the voice. …

I had gastric bypass May 8th, 2017 I was 256 and today I'm 208 I feel I lost a little bit of weight. This is what I eat because I can't eat meat even if it's puree. Morning: Premier protein shake Afternoon: fat free Greek yogurt ( black cherry, strawberry, blue berries Around 4pm I buy a large mango smoothie from Dunkin donuts. IT will take me about 3 - 4 hrs to finish it. And I also eat 2-4 bags of nacho cheese sunflower seeds. The past week I drink water and crystal light. What can I do to eat better and lose weight? The reason I got this surgery is because I have intracranial hypertension...severe headaches. So they say losing weight and getting some injections on my …

I will be going home to an empty house after surgery. The surgeon said it was ok (though he won't let me drive the 1/4 mile myself so I'll have to call a cab for the 1 minute ride). For those of you that had to take care of yourselves after surgery, did you have any problems? Do you have any suggestions? I plan to have everything set up so I don't have to lift anything and easy access to my fully stocked liquids and protein, but I'm wondering what I might not be considering. My neighbor's kids are feeding my cats while I'm in the hospital and she's offered to help if I need anything. Between that and living 1/4 mile from the hospital, I'm not worried about an emergency…

I will be 5 months post-op I'm just a few days and I have been doing pretty well up until the last few days. I have been feeling very noticable stabbing pain in the lower left side just under my ribcage after I eat. I don't get it a of the time and have had it with different foods at different times of the day but mainly at night. Does anyone know if this another normal for bariatric life or do I need to be concerned?

Your logical side: It is just a stall. You knew about the 3rd week stall, you were aware. It happens to everybody. It will pass, you'll see. Your body is just adjusting. You are losing inches. Even if it takes a while, you will lose weight just from eating less food. Just be patient. Your emotional side: *crying hysterically* You are a failure! You will be the first person in the Universe to go thru this and not lose weight! Just give up. Nothing you can do. Your stall will last forever. You will not lose another pound. Tell me it isn't true...

I am new and a few weeks away from my surgery. I've been looking at before and after pictures and of course I am wowed and motivated and excited. What I'd also like to know is if you could share stories about how the weight loss has effected your life; From the most mundane thing to the most amazing. Feelings that are different, little things that you realize have changed, big things you realized have changed, things that are easier, things that are harder, how people treat you differently or not...anything like this is what i'm interested in if you're interested in sharing.......

Any one have any issues with Goody's Powder? It's always been my go to for a headache. But, I just took one and vomited it all up. I hope it was because of the water I used to wash it down. Maybe a bigger swallow than I could handle. After...I feel better besides the headache. I haven't noticed any other issues with medicine. Interested in if any others have had issues with medicines that I should be aware of. Thanks. For information, I am 4 weeks post op.

I had surgery on the 5th. Came home yesterday. Minimal pain from the actual surgery. Went to bed and woke up around 2am with horrible pain in both of my forearms. I had elevated the head of my bed so I'm not sure if it was due to that or not. Anyway, I had to get up and I walked while bending arms up and down hoping to get some blood flow going. Both arms feel warm especially close to my wrist. I had my hubby massage them before I got any relief. Had to take pain meds to be able to go back to sleep. Woke up this morning and they are better but still hurt. Put a call in to the nurse so just waiting on a call back. Anyone else experience this??
