  1. Started by Yve108,

Had Gastric Sleeve Surgery on May 15, 2017. I feel great and Im able to eat just about everything. The only thing I can not eat is eggs and ground beef. Can anyone help with meal prep. I am so tired of eating the same things. Can you give me some ideas on what you had for breakfast, Lunch and Dinner?

I stopped weighing myself. It was rough. I want to weigh myself periodically now but I made a promise to myself not to do it and to only get weighed monthly at my follow up appointments. My fiancé took the scale away and everything. I was discouraging myself since the beginning (I'm about a month out) and I wasn't happy. I took the scale away, I'm following the plan, my dog hasn't been on better shape in his whole life because we're constantly walking, and I can feel the difference in my body, regardless of knowing my weight! My engagement ring almost had to be sized again even though it's hot and humid! So, seriously, stop weighing yourself. It's liberating. Good luck …

I'm 6 months out and so happy with my 55lb Weight loss. I'm only 15 lbs from my goal. The only problem is my boobs. I want to get a lift. I did some research and found it's not too expensive. Was wondering if anyone out there did the same? Insurance won't cover right? I also have some skin in abdominal area. Sorry to be gross but it's a prime area for infections since it doesn't get air. A friend would go to her doctors for it and he would give her cream. And. Me after doing this for a year she is having surgery and insurance is paying for it.

  4. I know I have a long way to go before I'll need this since I'm only 1 week post-op (I'm an early planner). I'm pretty sure I'll have loose skin after though. I hope to get down to 130 from a 240 starting weight. Since I had surgery at OCC, I thought the Ariel Center might be a good option for helping with loose skin. Has anyone gone here and had success? What was the cost for what you had done? Thanks

  5. Would love to converse with others that got surgery on the same day as I did so that we can compare our issues or triumphs and support each other.

When does the pain at the main incision go away?! I'm 19 days out and most of the time I'm okay but if I have to cough or sneeze, my incision feels like it's on fire and about to burst open! Hurts when getting out of bed too. The incision is completely healed on the outside. How long does it take before there is NO pain? I also get bad pain in my lower right side of my stomach that goes around to my back, that usually doesn't last more than a day then randomly recurs.

I'm curious if anyone here has Generalized Anxiety Disorder and had the sleeve done. I'm 4 months into my 6 months pre surgery appointments and have GAD and depression. It scares me that I won't be able to have surgery because of my panic attacks. I guess I'm just wondering if anyone else has anxiety issues and had surgery and how they handled it.

I am sure this has been a topic before, but just curious how bad everyone's acid reflux was once they got out of the hospital. Today is day 4 for me and the acid reflux bouts are miserable. Is it because I am not drinking enough? I am taking the prescription prilosec. In fact, I took an extra one last night because it was so bad. I was hoping to be back to regular routine by today. Aiming to get back to work by Monday. Any advice?

Hello all, It's very nice to meet you all and I am looking forward to sharing my journey with you. I'm 12 days post op and I just don't want to eat. The idea of it still seems appealing at times (and I definitely miss the bite chew swallow process) but purees and babyfood, blended soup and protein shakes... I'll make it to eat or go to eat it and just not want it. Also I don't want to drink and struggling to get enough fluids. Decaf tea and fresh lime in water is helping. I just feel like I'm way behind where I should be as far as protein and fluid and amt I can and do eat. Any suggestions as to what I can do? Thank you Sent from my SM-G935F using BariatricPal mobile …

  15. Hey, guys! I was sleeved 3 weeks ago, and things have been fine until a few days ago! These last few days I have felt constant hunger. For example, tonight I had a homemade salmon patty. Before it would have filled me up yet here I am, and my stomach is gurgling. It feels like hunger. The kind of hunger you'd feel when you were bored and wanted to graze Is something wrong with me? Did anyone else struggle with this? Also, I've been in a stall all week. I go up and down a few pounds. I am finally able to get all my protein in and today was the first day I was able to get 64 oz of water in! I am hoping this will help with the stall, but the consta…

So I am 6 days post-op today. Surgery was done on 6/14. Im a Realtor, so I started working from home Sunday, 6/18. I am doing and feeling well overall but has anyone experienced mood swings after surgery? Like 1 minute I'm calm and the next, if someone says something that I don't agree with, I'll snap and say something to them. Then 5 minutes later I feel sorry for getting angry with them. I am also diagnosed with ADHD and not sure if my Adderall dosage needs to come down because my stomach is now smaller. Maybe that's it, I don't know. Let me know if any of you have experienced this. I don't understand what the heck I'm supposed to be doing, other than clear liquids. I can't tell the difference between "I'm full", "I'm bloated with gas", "I'm having a spasm in my stomach", and "I'm hungry". It all feels the same! Presurgery, I would know how hungry I truely was by the intensity of my food craving. Post-surgery, the cravings are intense all day every day. There is no satiation. I'm so frustrated! 23. Any suggestions? My new stomach still seems to be real tender. When I take my pills it's a real struggle to get them down and occasionally quite painful. I have to go slow....and even then it's a real ordeal. I find myself really hungry for solid food, but of course I can't. Probably the solution is that I ought to be eating more protein shakes and/or broth, but although I still enjoy the taste of them I am starting to find that a chore. I guess if I am way under 1000 calories a day it is natural that I would be hungry. Did most of you require the full two weeks before going to mushy stage or do most of you go faster? i noticed a few people saying they hate the taste of water after they have their sleeve. okay this is me, i have a 2.2 litre water bottle (74.4 oz) and i drink about two or three of those a day. i have been checked for diabetes and i have great blood sugars, so my doctor thinks i'm just kind of addicted to drinking water (who would think that was possible). after i have my surgery will i not be able to drink that much water anymore? will it interfere with my eating by making me full? is it going to hurt me to still drink so much or help me? i'm just wondering if i should try to cut back to a 'normal' amount in the couple of months pre surgery, which would be hellish…

Hi, I'm getting ready for sleeve surgery in about 3 and half weeks and my question is...all my life I've been a HUGE water drinker. I am ALWAYS thirsty to the point I've been tested for diabetes but no, I am just always thirsty! I drink a TON of water and I mean a ton a day. I love it. I love water more then any drink on the planet. Will I still be able to drink alot of water after the sleeve and if not, am i still going to feel the same insatiable thirst and just not be able to quench it? Thanks!

Hello everyone, I wanted to ask everyone what their experience has been with weight loss after surgery. I had a rocky start post op and was unable to get food down which landed me in the ER. The first month I lost 24lbs now im averaging about 10 lbs a month. I stall for 2-3 weeks at a time before the scale moves again. I've been reading about people's progress which makes mines not seem so great. I am watching what I eat and am active. I was 284 and now 240.

I'm glad it's calmed down six weeks out but I'm having trouble getting my nutrients in. Thoughts?

  41. Hello guys. Keto has never caught my attention. I've been able to lose weight eating healthy carbs. Anytime I did do carb cycling, where I would have to eat low carb, I just felt terrible. Now please don't take this as "oh wow she's unmotivated to change her lifestyle". Doing Keto literally contradicts all the knowledge I've gained on macronutrients all my life.
